located at top of the hill, surrounded by lush greenery, great for quiet recluse stay, peaceful and far away from noisy traffic or bustle of town

told hotel is 20 years old by tour driver. Perhaps new room furniture would be nice. Hotel should ensure food served during buffet are covered to prevent flies landing on food.

Altogether a very satisfying stay at Strawberry Resort Hotel. All staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. The buffet breakfast had a nice wide selection of choices but only grouse is of few flies landing on uncovered food. Serving staff were attentive altho very busy during full house. Instead of paying RM20 to take a taxi to town, walking to town at a leisurely pace took us an hour but was nice as we took pictures of nature along the way and got interesting shots of crickets rubbing wings to make buzzing sound at night, a pair of mating centipedes! spiders, we even caught a glimpse of an eagle perched in a tree in the forest from the roadside! perhaps the same one we saw flying high in the sky as we were having breakfast at the verandah at the coffeehouse in the morning and got a nice pic of. The folks in town were also friendly and food was good and prices good value for money at some outlets and reasonable only at others. A must try is the charcoal steamboat in town at RM15 at almost all the restaurants serving it, a big surprise was organic steamboat! We had a nice relaxing stay at the hotel and think we got value for money for the price we paid. We will definitely stay at this hotel on our next visit, we liked the open balcony and the charming lovely architecture of the hotel, that gave it more of a homely apartment feel than a commercial hotel, which added to the comfortable stay.

Restaurant Tip : Try the charcoal steamboat at RM15 in town. Pls DO NOT put my name in this review. You can put down my name as Daisy Lee

Good large bedroom with sitting room and table and four chairs. Several restaurants to choose from. Very well maintained and attractive grounds.

No lift and we were on the fourth floor. Bedroom had a desk but no tables close to the bed and no bedside lights.

Strawberry Park is a large complex with five or six buildings, each building being four floors high and housing many rooms. Our room was a mini apartment, with a sitting room, table and chairs, and the space was good. It got a little chilly in the evenings and there was no heating, but they did provide extra blankets and if you wrapped yourself in one of those you could keep warm. Unfortunately the kettle they provided would not fit under the tap in the sink, so it had to filled from the bath or by ladling water from the glasses provided. The grounds were very pleasant but the steps from the restaurant area to the fourth floor of our building (96 altogether) were a bit of a trial. The resort is a bit isolated and although they run tour buses, your own transportation is better.

Ambience and Scenery

Low quality water heater

We have made a trip through Malaysia and stayed a few nights in the Strawberry Park. Very large rooms as well as the bathroom with not only a bath, but also a separate shower. Breakfast was quite good there are various restaurants to have dinner in this hotel. This is relevant as the town of Tanah Rata is not on walking distance, you definately need to have a rental car with you.

None.

Big upgrading is required.

- Carried my own luggage up and down for 6 floors without any assistance during checked in and checked out! - Old and smelly wardrobe cabinet. - table lamp and phone placed on top of miserable timber stools next to the bed. - Karaok music and out of tune yelling vioces throughout the whole evening and stopped closed to midnight. - constant loud engine noise from the bus and van arrivals and departues with package groups, felt like a bus-terminal resort. - balcony has no outdoor table and chairs. - big bathroom for nothing. Shower head attached to bath tub without any hook or holder on the wall. Big challenge if you need a shower!

Travel tip : Beware of the taxi drivers' ripped off prices in Cameron. Totally controlled by one single commuity in town. To Tanah Rata, range from RM6 - RM16. Very bad image for Cameron's tourism!

Buggy transport from check-in desk to room was a cute gesture despite the very short distance. Rooms are big, feels more like a private resort apartment than a hotel. Worth the price.

Water heater for hot bath runs out of hot water too fast. Long queue for breakfast during peak season.

Had a 2-night stay at Strawberry Park Resort during my visit to Cameron highlands in 2008 Dec. It was our first time there. We went during a peak season so hotel was full with tourists, although it was also a bit amusing to see about 80% of the customers in restaurant during dinner were also from Singapore like us. It was just 2 of us but we were surprised that our room was quite big and even comes with a 2nd single bed in a separate room, and a separate living room with a sofa. Definitely value for money in terms of money to room space ratio. Since the weather there is quite cold, our only gripe was water tap for bathroom turning cold after about 10 mins of using the hot water. I am not sure what kind of water heater system they were using but we had to wait like 15 mins without using anymore hot water to let the water become warm again. Overall, we were happy with our stay. Will choose this hotel again, especially if we come again with a bigger group of friends and don't want to pay for multiple small rooms.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Make sure to get at least a half-day tour either from hotel or your travel agent to see all the attractions in Cameron highlands. It covers pretty much all you need to see in that little town. Full-body massage spa provided by hotel is cheap and nice too.

Very nice room furnishing, beautiful scenery and hotel setting, enjoyable local tours, good breakfast.

Quite inconvenient location; expensive restaurant meals.

After my stay, I would recommend this hotel to my friends. This hotel is especially suitable for family or a small group of friends to stay. I enjoy having a warm tea in the room's living area and enjoy the nice scenery outside the window. The atmosphere in there is very English. And, it is a must to taste the strawberry sold in the gift shop, and join their local tours (I personally enjoyed the one visiting the forest and tea house very much!). But, you better choose a room not in a high floor. Otherwise, you will need to carry your baggages up & down. And it is especially troublesome if it rains, as there is no canopies linking different paths.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Visit the strawberry farm (taxi from the hotel cost RM12) and enjoy the delicious meals in the cafe there.

Breakfast had many many choices, and was delicious. Bath Room was super big and suitable for family.

Arrived at 3 p.m., still needed to wait for an hour for the room to be cleaned without any apologies. Staff shows cold face. Small check in counter

Nice environment, if staff shows more energy, that would be great. I booked a twin room , but surprising come out with 1 single bed + 1 queen size bed, very comfortable. Simple or even a bit old fashion decoration, but relaxing. Around 10-15 mins from Cameron Highland to the hotel, standard cost: RM 12 ($15 at night).

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : BoH tea house is a must visit.

Our rooms were a good size, and the bathroom was enormous

The hot water for shower is running out during half way you shower it is very bad and the flushing of the toilet is very difficult when you flush you need to flush and hold only water will come out.

This hotel could be so much better, given a big makeover on the staffs. AND furnitures are old and they do need some upgrading. Besides that, during at night where there is a few streetlights along the road which makes it difficult to see in the dark while driving. (will need improvement)

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Wake up before 8am, the scenery from the balcony was very good and breathtaking

The layout of the various blocks blended well with the terrain.

Management should remind guests who use the open garden at main entrance at late hours of the night to be mindful of their voices as the noise gets carried up to the rooms in the stillness of the night.

The place is beautifully set up and one can just stand on the balcony absorbing in the fresh air and the beautiful scenery all around. The breakfast buffet was a generous spread and of good varieties. The Studio unit was very well designed and I just love the spacious bathroom with the long bath in the middle of the room.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Boh Tea plantations is a must see. A steamboat meal in any of the restaurants in Brinchang nearby would make a trip to Camerons complete.

Apartment is spacious and really cooling.

Need more reception counters. Currently, slow and inefficient. Apartments need upgrading / refurbishment works. TV reception fails quite frequently.

Firstly, the location is way too far from the main road but its really nice and cooling. Nice view too. More reception counters should be opened at all times. The resort definitely needs refurbishment / upgrading works, especially to the bathrooms. Should at least have instant hot water and hair dryer too. I would like to suggest a heater in the bathroom too.

Hotel Feature Tip : Remember to switch on the water heater the moment you enter the room as it needs at least 20 minutes to heat up.

It's place and nice weather conditions and its own beauty.

The cleanliness of the rooms and its floor should be considered more, because their rooms have a good views and good decorations.

In total, it is a nice place for staying about two days and its place is convenient to access the farms around the the hotel and I suggest you to come to Cameron Highlands with your own or a rental car to save a lot of time.
