We enjoyed the hotel, great place, lovely restaurants and pools. Room overlooking fabulous sea view. Excellent value for money. The resort itself seemed a bit tired and needs some superficial attention. Overall a good place to stay and I hope to visit it again.

Comfort, nice design and hotel facilities, near beach site. Every room is a sea view room.

Lack of maintainance.

Very run down resort, i dun know how they get 4 star rating. Very few stayers. I have stayed at Legend Cherating also 4 star rating, nearing to kuantan (impiana is another 10km further up), and it is much better. No beach towel given when i went swimming at their pool at 6pm. Sign at hotel entrance, weekday rate at RM99++ and weekend rate at RM198++. This type of standard only worth RM99++ even for weekend

Quiet beach

Lousy breakfast only nasi lemak and fried bee hon. balcony door faulty, cant close properly. No face n hand towel. Wooden bed frame shaking, makes a lot of noise.

Good location for this hotel on the beachside of Cherating. The buildings around the lobby need to be refreshed even if the bedrooms and bathromms are nice. The only problem we had is that we booked for a triple room and the bedroom given was a double one where a single bed had been added ; no more place !! The gardens also are poor. However, the staff is very helpful

nice beachside and seaview from rooms

The buildings and gardens which need to be improved

I often have to travel to the Cherating area and have now found a haven rather than an overnight hotel to stay in. The hotel is spacious with many touches of local colour - the music playing as you enter, the furnishings and decor and the access to rooms along a corridor that has the feel of long house living. All rooms too are spacious with four poster comfort and windows that look out directly onto the beach very close by and afford the experience the beautiful sunrise of the East Coast. The breakfast area too was conveniently placed next to the large pool that feeds the swimming pool below and encourages fresh breezes to flow. Car parking is extensive and the driveway and grounds generally well kept but ensuring nature in the form of local plants, birds and monkeys to be seen.

- large, spacious rooms with four poster beds - all sea facing rooms - special sunsets - close access to beach - excellent dining area - touches of local culture and craft - very pleasant and helpful staff

- no business centre - lack of convenience store - limited porterage - no brochures available - no soft drimks in room fridge

  • Hotel Feature Tip : Go to bed early so that next morning you can wake to the sunrise and then take a walk along the beach.

Unless they do a renovation, I would not be going to this resort as there are many newer ones.

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Gua Charas - about 1 hour drive from the resort. It is a cave with Buddha and Hindu shrines in it.

Overall this hotel is nice to stay, if you look for some peaceful holiday. Drive to downtown Kuantan takes about 30 minutes. Big shopping mall about 15 minutes away so quite convenience. Sightseeing places are mostly faraway, need more than two hours in a car at least but worth seeing.

  • Travel tip : Cheaper to eat outside hotel, many restaurant available. Must bargain price down at roadside stall. Sightseeing need to book one day in advance, most places more than two hours away.

Time to renovate the hotel. With the beautiful beach and surroundings that it already has, it can become a nice place if it is renovated tastefully and run by a professional hotel chain.
