1. Friendly & warmth hotel staffs.
2. Clean & beautiful beach.
3. Clean & cozy room.
1. Nearer parking lot would be better.
2. Hard to get souvenir.
If you want a quiet, peaceful, warmth holiday, this is the place to be.
The only down side would be the location is far (merely 30km) from city.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : There's a turtle sanctuary about 3km away from the hotel (heading to Kuantan).

friendly staff, great customer service. live performances at the pub and bistro.
pool condition is bad with broken tiles, balcony overlooking the beach is small, pub only serves beers.
it was alright overall. but really need to work on the refurbishment of the whole hotel as it is getting old. The pool size is great, but the condition is bad. the tiles are broken and missing. All rooms are seaview, but the balcony is way too small. couldnt place a chair on the balcony to enjoy the outside fresh air. the pubs opens every night, which is great as many hotels don't due to low occupancy. however, they only serves beers.
On the good side, the staffs there are very friendly and helpful. the breakfast buffet is served with great varieties and the food tasted good. live performances at the pub! nice.

best architecture - with all rooms sea-facing, & a bathroom with windows you can open that look across your bedroom - with aview of the beach/sea while u take your shower
the beautiful spacious lobby needs some ceiling fans as it is not airconditioned. on a warm day/evening - it can be quite hot & humid.
since this hotel resort was opened 16 yrs ago, i have been a frequent visitor, at times staying there 2-3 times a year. i have not been back already some 10yrs since - even after staying there some 15 times - this resort has never stopped to charm me thru its ambience. i was surprised at it being well maintained still after 16yrs. it is hard to come by a hotel/resort to be well maintained in malaysia - even for a 4 or 5star hotel. i have visited many hotel/resorts along the cherating stretch & even checked on their rooms -none can compete with impiana, as all others are just a normal concrete jungle of rooms. highly recommended if u seek privacy of a beach, ambience, quaintness & solitude.
Travel tip : if u seek a private uncrowded expanse of a beach, u have found it here at impiana. there is a night market on thurs evenings at cukai (15mins drive by car - check with hotel staff), u can get to try some very local pahang/trengannu stalls there.

the beautiful beach and the comfortable room
not much of water sports available such as jet ski
basically it was a good hotel.clean rooms with nice seaview. But the aircond is not cold at all.i think the fan is much more windy than the aircond and i guess it because they are doing refurbishment now,it looks a bit quiet.
If they have bathtubs at the bathroom, that would be great
Travel tip : its quite near to the pekan where you can find restaurants.

Nice and clean room.
Nice beach front.
Friendly and english speaking staff.
Weak air-con.
Buffet breakfast limited selection.
Limited activities at recreation centre.
Overall the hotel is comfortable and clean. Nice beach right in front of hotel provides easy access to enjoy a day at the beach. Staff are friendly and generally speak good english. However food was not up to standard, had a bad dinner at the resort restaurant. Conclusion, value for money but need to look for meals outside resort which might be difficult for those not driving.

the food is average, could have been better.....
the hotel got great location with nice design. If the food is great, I would have given the hotel a full mark. but the good is not so tasty.....even though we had a free breakfast, we could not enjoy the food. The room was nice, with large bathroom.....but the TV is so small even for a superior deluxe room that we had!

The Superior Deluxe Room is great for a family of 5 which has a living room. The atmosphere at the common lobby is good and the view to the sea is good too.
The aircond in the room which we stayed (last floor) was not cold enough, need a lot of improvement. No laundry string provided in the shower area, the ventilation in the toilet and shower area is not good. The buffet breakfast is not up to a 4 star standard and the service and waiting time for replenishment is too slow, food not enough to serve, I can't imagine if all rooms are open after the renovation. However the staffs is good and trying their best. Restaurant outlets not enough. No lift in any of the wings. Swimming pool need upgrading and not enough water play area and slides for young kids.
It is good to have more restaurant outlets so we don't have to spend time driving out searching for foods. The key slot is not function which it can't automatically shut down all lights and air-cond when leaving the room, this is good for energy saving and conservation. It is good to have lifts in the main lobby for disable and elderly to access. More kiddies play area and slides or features for young kids. To have more gazebos and lazy chairs along the beach so guests have relax. We hope all the cons and my suggestion posted can be reviewed and make changes by the management, if we decided to have our next visits there hope to see everything has improved.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Location is good and near the Jabor Exit (East Coast Highway).

The friendly staff and the great design of the room, exceeding expectation for a 4 star hotel. And the beach was suprisingly great for swimming.
Small room. Not much variety in the buffet and during peak hours, slow to replenish. Swimming pool needs to be repaired and cleaned.
The Impiana Cherating is a great cozy hotel for a weekend gateway. The surroundings were very serene and gave an impression of a hotel at the edge of a forest. The beach was clean and beautiful. It was a safe beach for swimming even for my young kids! And the water was clear. The food was great even though you don't have much variety. But the catering services need to be improved in terms of speed. The front service was friendly and efficient. It was good to see all the smiles at the hotel. And the housekeeping did a great job. The location of the hotel was also within reach of Kemaman where you can get great food like keropok lekor, satar or even the famous Hai Peng Kopitiam. The surroundings of Cherating also offers great places for sea products too.
Restaurant Tip : If you want to order at the poolside restaurant, be prepared for a long wait.

1. poor air-conditioning
2. swimming pool lack of maintainance
3. lack of varieties in F & B selection
overall atmosphere very good, room is good as well as lobby. but honestly i think they have to improve their air-conditioning system. beside of the air-conditioning, lack of f&b outlets selection --> they only have 2 f&b outlets and 1 pub. this trip i only stayed for 3d/2n, but already feel bored for the food menu, imagine if u stay there for 4d/3n or even longer than that.

Seaview right from your bed,
peaceful and quiet environment.
Friendliness of hotel staff.
Mosquito in the room,
building is old,
air-cond not very cold
This is the 1st time I stayed in Impiana Resort. With its traditional Malay building, it is a new experience for me. However, the 1st room that we stayed had problem of the air-cond. It was not cold or even cool at all. After complained, we got to change to another room which air-cond worked normally. It was 1st level room. We could see the beach and sea right from our bed and it felt good. The beach was clean and not many people, so we felt relaxing. The whole resort and the rooms however was somehow old and probably due to all the wood that used to built the resorts was worn out. What discomfort us were the mosquitoes in the room that we had to cover our body with the whole blanket to prevent getting bit. In the toilet, a lot of ants on the basin and seem coming up from the beach. Beside all these discomfort, generally it is okay to stay for short term relaxation.

Overall is a good place to stay at Impiana Resort Cherating, A quiet place, beautiful beaches, clear water and is so quiet... The room is just fine, facing the sea at third floor. The breakfast is acceptable and plenty of them.
I think, the airconditioner need a major maintenance or change... the room i'm staying is very hot in the afternoon and the television is a sad case.... so Small! The bed... make too much of a sound...
It was my first time visit to cherating. I decided to put a night in Impiana Resort. The place overall I gave them a B-. The lobby is cozy and beautiful, I feel so relaxed when I walk along the beach, is so quiet, private and is just feel so good. The only thing the resort need to improve is their room need to be refabricate and the airconditioner.... change it. Is too hot!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Beach! is just Excellent!

I guess it is during low peak period, the beach is very quiet.
Service is slow. pool is dirty. Location is abit far compared to others resorts.
The place is quiet, hotel room does not really look liked after-reno (Completed in June 2009). The service is very slow, eg. They took more than 10 mins just to look for my reservation; We went to the Coffee House at 3pm for lunch, only one table which is ours, was occupied in the whole restaurant. We ordered Ala carte (Kampung Fried Rice) and one jambo water melon juice, it took more than 30 mins!
The pool is dirty, compared to the beach though! Not much water activities can be found in the resort, it is such a waste with the beautiful beach.
Limited restaurants (only 2 outlets plus one fun pub) no much choice for dining.

Situated among the best spot in Cherating, with nice beach area. Staff very helpful.
Structure of building, with NO lift & some facilities not properly maintained or too old already. Breakfast set too simple. Parking space issue.
Impiana Resort is located among the best spot of Cherating Beach, very calm and relax environment with really malay local architecture but its a bit old hotel. The staff is very helpful and polite. However improvements are require for the following issue; Parking space not that convenience, Breakfast set too simple, for thus with baby stroller you have to do a lot of 'exercise' since there is no lift and the structure of the building make u 'work' extra, and some facilities really need to be changed.
Hotel Feature Tip : There is no lift/escalator service so for thus with small baby u need to do a lot of exercise by carrying up-down the stroller or else u must keep close with the bellboy.

Mattresses very comfortable
Shower works very well
Beautiful view of the ocean and sunrise from the window
Lighting in the room is sufficient
Staff are generally very helpful
The lobby and dining place is impressive
Tiles in the bathroom could be improved
Room needs to be more mosquitoes proof
Not enough power points
Television reception is extremely poor
Breakfasts - hot food is not hot but mildly warm
Dinner - hot food is only mildly warm
Gym/sports equipment are in poor condition and not complimentary e.g table tennis bats and ball, kites
Some of the tiles in the swimming have come off.
Overall, we had a relaxed and pleasant time. Got up in the morning looking at the sunrise from our bed, went out for a walk along the beach, sat on the lounge chairs by the beach and felt the cool breeze air and went back to a comfortably cool room, read the daily delivered complimentary newspaper. Had breakfast, the local breakfast selection changes from day to day.
Travel tip : Club Med is the resort next door.

Room is very cosy and comfortable, very kampung style feel to it
no lift, have to walk up stairs
I had a wonderful time staying in this hotel. The whole look to the hotel is unlike the normal building that we see normally. the whole hotel is built like a malay kampung house. At first I thought it look ugly because it looked not modern, but as time goes by, I like it more and more, because it is different from other hotels that I have ever stayed. This is very unique in the sense that they have little things that make you feel like you are staying in a kampung house. like there is some fake "windows" on the wall in the room to make you feel you are staying in a house and not a room.
besides that the beach fronting the hotel is long and clean and it is not crowded at all, the breakfast was ok and the staffs were helpful.
Restaurant Tip : better to drive down to Chukai town further away than to eat in any chinese restaurant nearby if you want to have chinese food.
