Staying at Lotus Desaru Beach Resort was a memorable day for me and family. The room was big and clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was nice. The ambience is perfect. I would love to come back again to Lotus Desaru next time. Its been a perfect holiday for me and family. I definately will recommend my friends and family to Lotus.

Nice hotel room with average service
Fast check-in. The rooms and toilets were relatively big and clean. There was mircowave and decent dining area. Buggy took us to the block that we were allocated.

One of the beds in one room had a broken leg. We called housekeeping twice and waited for more than an hour before someone finally came to assist. We were disappointed as we were stuck just waiting as we weren't sure if they could fix it and if we need to change rooms. The kettle had some rust in it but they were able to replace it with a new one.
Food is just okay. We ordered baked chicken wings for dinner at the main outlet but it came as fried and they was over-fried till they were very tough and dry. Don't expect too much in the breakfast spread. We asked for scrambled eggs and the chef simply just broke the sunny side up with a solid turner while it was still raw.
The lifts were rather old. Hotel room's main door has the latest type of door lock which is the scan type.
Hotel exterior looks like a dormitories/army camps due to it's shape and the way the blocks are labelled but overall, the hotel is quite family-friendly as there were ramps along stairs to wheel our baby prams.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Hot water heater - Be sure to switch it on well ahead of shower otherwise be prepared that you'll end up taking a shower in cold water!

Average Hotel

The room I stayed was spacious with a living room and separate 2nd floor bedroom. But unable to add an extra bed and 3 person sleeping on a king size bed was uncomfortable. The facilities are good though, with many activities inside. Breakfast was average but a distance away from the room, however, they do provide free transport service.

An aging but adequate resort.

Resort was built in the 80s, and looks like it even now. It is clearly meant for local tourists instead of international travellers. Buffet breakfast was not great, but considering the lack of other alternatives, will do okay. Beach is clean but crowded (esp during the weekends), and water sports are quite pricey.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Get your groceries or supplies (preferably in Johor Bahru) first, before heading to the resort. The shops within the resort are not well stocked, while the nearest small town may not have what you need.

Overall, I would consider this a reasonably priced resort for the room, that i am getting but the only feedback is the breakfast is not so good and prices of the water sports there are relatively higher compared to those that I have went before in Malaysia.

Nice rooms and good place for Kids

Nice 2 bedroom apartment, reasonably clean and the kitchen is sufficiently equipped with fridge, plates, forks and water boiler.
In the evening the temperature outside was quite pleasant after the heavy rain in the afternoon. So we opened the glass door of the balconies and enjoyed the fresh air. We like the balconies, one from the living room, the other from the main bedroom.
