i think all genting hotels are very similar. they are all old, smell and bad service. the designs and furnitures are probably from the 70's. i think that genting group should really invest and re-renovate and refurbish all their hotel. guests don't mind paying for more, if is a better environment. i certainly don't mind to double up the price i m paying.

Awana resort is a great place to stay if you're looking avoid the hustle and bustle of the entertainment at the peak of genting whilst still having easy access to it at any time of the day via the free shuttle bus or the cable car which cost only RM 6 per way with a beautiful view among the clouds along the way up whilst only taking 15mins. The one room condo was very spacious and felt like an apartment , the room service was excellent with good food. There is a 24/7 convenient store on the premises of the resort , as well as a restraunt and cafe which operate during the day. . The scenery and views from the resort are beautiful , however when my girlfriend and I wanted to talk a walk along the beautiful walkways on the golf course we were asked to leave the grounds ( guess only those who paid for the golf course are allowed on it ) which is sad as the resort is surrounded with beautiful golf courses. The only negative comment I have on the resort is that breakfast buffet is not very appetising , despite the large variety of food , however it was still satisfactory . Also the double bed in the room was to my displeasure ,two single beds put together which can be a hindrance to couples. Overall , the stay in Awana resort was a satisfactory one .
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Although there are free shuttle buses and very affordable cable car rides ,genting highlands is best enjoyed with a private vehicle

Very calm and peaceful place for staying, has not missed genting activities because every half hour shuttle service to genting first word hotel or sky walk with free cable ride tickets. Indian veg. Items were provided in beakfast. In apartment room kitchen utensils and crockery were not provided and tv service was very poor. Over all our stay was very cofortable and was a value for money stays.

we only booked this hotel because the rest of th hotels at the genting resort were full.
pros are: room includes breakfast, free shuttle to the highlands and comfortable rooms.
what we didn't like are 1) when we arrived at 430pm, room is not yet ready. when we asked, receptionist just said they were fully booked last night, but somehow we felt that is not our problem, it is the hotel's problem for not utilizing their staff rightly. 2) no free wifi at the hotel, we have to pay an expensive fee.

Value for your money hotel.

The room my friends and I rented was a deluxe room, it was quite big for the reasonable price they offered. The room had 2 queen bed. However, the bathroom needs to be looked into because the bathtub doesn't work. All in all I will give the hotel a 8 out of 10.
Hotel Feature Tip:
The hotel has a free shuttle service. Inquire at the front desk for the schedule of shuttle service. Also, if you are travelling via bus going to Genting Highlands from Singapore but the drop off point is in the First World hotel the shuttle service is also available going to Awana. Call beforehand to inquire about the schedule of shuttle service.

Got a special price to stay here. Went with my Mum and two young kids. I Liked the rooms. They were big. The staff were friendly. The pool was nice.
One thing about the rooms - they were old though; but not too bad. The hotel claims running a shuttle to and from the First World Hotel (where all the eateries, rides, casinos, etc. are), which is true. But be assured that you'll not get a place in that bus. It is always full. So be prepared for a RM 40 to RM 60 expense per trip between Awana and Firstworld by taxi if you are travelling with young kids.
