really cheap for a 5 star hotel.. big rooms too
a tad old but everything was nice & clean
the surroundings was very rundown but theres a huge modern shopping mall just 5 min walk away

room and bathroom were comfortable and very spacious for two. fairly clean but can definitely improve on the cleanliness. convenient location with lots of food and spa places nearby.
overall we had a satisfying stay, though the hotel is not quite the "5-star hotel" it pegs itself to be.

stayed for one night only but it was a pleasant one. room was big and clean, toilet was cleaned as well. staff were friendly, however not much choice for breakfast and due to the lack of staff perhaps, tables were not cleared on time. when it was finally cleared, there were no cutlery replaced. you need to request for one. overall, good but not that perfect.
Shopping Tip:
check out the ksl city mall nearby.

2 malls nearby within walking distance.
food places nearby too.
there's a disco/club at the mall beside the hotel but really not reccomended to go. room was comfortable enough. aircon and water heater worked fine. the cafe at the lobby serves nice breakfast.

Good Location with Big Room but Privacy Concern

Was there for a weekend stay. Decided on Mutiara Hotel after reading the good reviews posted online. We arrived at around 3plus in the afternoon, expecting that room would be ready but we were informed that our room was not ready. As such, my bf and I decided to do some shopping first and requested the hotel to call us once room is available. After an hour of shopping, the hotel still has not called and we decide to go back and check on the availability again. This time, the staff told us the room is not ready and we start wondering how come our earlier call request was disregarded. We were pleased with the big and pleasant room. While in the room, we decided to go for a swim before dinner. When we were changing in the room, we suddenly heard a knock on the door but before we could react, the door was open. My bf shouted that there was someone in the room twice before the person say sorry and went out of the room. We were in shocked how come there was someone accessing the room while there were guests in the room. My bf quickly changed and went out to check. The cleaning team on the corridor mentioned that it was one of the managers that had opened the door. That night, we called and made a report about this incident with the hotel and request an update but there was no news. The next day, when we were checking out, we report the case with the hotel again. The manager on duty indicated that they would need to check on the tapes and would get back to us. After 2 weeks, there was still no news from the hotel. Overall, the hotel is generally great in terms of room and location; however the privacy remained a top concern in my point of view.
Hotel Feature Tip:
The hotel room is big and pleasant. However, the swimming pool was smaller than expection.
