Efficient service and no problems.
Hotel is a little old, but they compensate in other ways.
Stayed one weekend night. Easy to find and to get to. Efficient service. Rooms a little dated but the hotel makes up for it in other ways. Breakfast was satisfactory. Compared to to other hotels of a similar standard it was good value for money. I would stay there again.

good location, staff spoke good english and very helpful
really nice rooms, breakfast had good variety, quite tasty. good views from up high. room service meals were really nice. staff were helpful and spoke good english. promptly called you a taxi that used the meter. organised a limo for us to changi airport, reasonable price (this was much nicer than the taxi over for the same price). right next to the holiday plaza shopping mall.
Hotel Feature Tip : try the massage

Good food and near shopping complex.
Room is smelly and room service is slow.
The room smell of cigarette smoke and it is suppose to be a non smoking room. Some of the light bulbs are not functioning. The breakfast has lots of choices and delicious too. Although there is not many customer but the checking out is very slow.On the whole my stay was a good one.
Restaurant Tip : Try the food at the coffee house.

Good location to shopping centre
We found this hotel to be one of the best located area for shopping and seafood restaurants. We have patronized this hotel a number of times and hotel staff seems to be pleasant, approachable and understanding. The only drawback is hotel needs a little bit of paintwork and carpet outside most lift landing happens to be worn out and discoloured.
Shopping Tip : Excellent area for shopping

I had a pleasant stay there definitely value for money. Breakfast is not bad, lots of variety to choose from. The staff were polite and i like the follow-up phone call to the room to ensure that everything's okay.Good transport for free shuttle to Pelangi Plaza. Needs to take a taxi to other areas except the walking distance to Holiday Plaza
Air-con not cold enough and hot water very hard to control in bathroom. No room slippers and free bottled drinking water. The drainage in the bathtub in room 830 was not that good.
Mutiara is a over rated 4 stars hotel. I have stayed here few times the one reason why i keep going back is that the location is just too good to be true. Walking distance to holiday plaza, 3 mins cab ride to daman market, and 5 mins to the causeway. The room is pleasantly clean, however improvements can be made in the toilet, particularly the bathtub. It would be nice if there's a supermarket or a 24hr convenience stall around.

It is strategically located and ample parking space.
The carpet needs a refurbishment cos the dark stain between the entrance door and the toilet were visible.
We have stayed in several hotels in Johor Bahru but chose this hotel because of the location. We found the staff friendly and helpful, and the room is also spacious. In terms of shopping, the Holiday Plaza is just right next door within walking distance. Shops there have variety of goods. The variety of foods served are reasonably good. To summarize, if you are not expecting a 5-star service, this would be a good hotel to stay!

Very nice room, breakfast buffet was not too bad, good service fron the hotel staff
The mattress on the bed was very springy... everytime i moved so did my wife... in the edn we had to request for a change to 2 single beds for us to sleep comfortably
The hotel rated 5 stars wasn't quite what we expected at first upon arrival. The exterior of the hotel is poorly mainatined although they are currently doing a re-paint of the exterior. The service though was good and the staff helpful. We especially liked the room which was very spacious and confortable except for the the fact that the bedd was very springy. :) Wanting a good massage we gave a call to the spa to find that the masuess are only female. (I was hoping to have a male maseuss) Overall we had a good stay and the late check out at 3pm was a good plus.

Location was good. Right smack in the city. Next to Holiday Plaza. Great service recovery performed.
Check in time was 3pm. Reached there at 2:45pm. Was told to wait at the lobby as room is not available yet. Still cleaning. Threatened to launch a complaint as we were all tired and exhausted by the massive jam at Causeway. Later manager came and volunteered to upgrade our room to a junior suit - with living hall and another toilet at no cost. But bathroom structure problem in the room. Water from shower flows down to floor no matter how hard we tried to work with the shower curtain. Drainage was far from bath area hence, whole bathroom is always wet. Well, cannot complain as it was already upgraded free. Furniture and deco very old.
Shopping Tip : Hotel Plaza is just next to it. Lots of shopping.

Location, location, location. It is just beside the Parkson and close to the holiday plaza.
Staff is friendly and patient.
If you want to spend weekend with your family, shopping, swimming and enjoying foods. This hotel is a good choice. Near to the shopping center, and there is a Pizza about ten minites' walk, which is much cheaper than that in Singapore. And easy to find other restaurant.
I bought a lot of cloths in Parkson adjacent to the hotel and it saved me a lot of money, compared to the price in Singapore.

the view was surprisingly nice, rooms looked clean, service prompt & efficient and the food served in both the coffeeshop & chinese restaurant (halal certified) are exceptionally delicious!
rooms not well appointed, toiletries lacking, swimming pool didn't look like a 4-star property
my family and i were looking forward to a 2-night 3-day relaxing stay at mutiara hotel, johor bahru. the hotel was easy enough to get to by taxi - not too far away from the new immigration building. i must say we did have a great time eating at both the coffeeshop and the chinese restaurant which served a halal menu including a scrumptous peking duck! we were a little disappointed with the in-room furniture. it looked old. the swimming pool didn't look too inviting either. needless to say, my year-old daughter didn't spend any time there, unfortunately. but we were impressed with the unobtrusive service overall. the shopping center next to it is another story altogether - huge disappointment. not much to induce shoppers. i'd say, we'll probably be back sometime in the not too distant future. it comes recommended to those who do not have too high of an expectation.
Restaurant Tip : for muslim travellers, food is heaven-found. like most hotels in malaysia, the mutiara offers all halal dining including those who'd like a taste of chinese cuisine. we found the peking duck delicious and inexpensive - a must try!

breakfast is good, atmosphere is wonderful. room is clean and tidy.
i think it is really value for money since the hotel is maintained nicely. the staffs are helpful. Although the external area, is not that good, but i feel it is different from person to person. Nothing the hotel management can control like the plaza next to it,full with people that looks weird to me.
Nightlife Tip : well dangga bay is place to visit. it is nice to bring family.
