It was great time which we spent in JB specially in Thistle hotel , Hotel staff was quite Cooperating. Hotel was centrally located and good view of city as well as see is available. Car parking facility is gud.

Our stay was quite enjoyable and the staff has been quite helpful. The rooms are spacious although it is beginning to become worn out. Our package did not come with breakfast so can't say whether the food was good or not. Location will be good if you have your own transport as it is in a place where there is not much public transport available. All in all, it was a pleasant stay in a pleasant hotel.

Service in this hotel tends to be sporadic (e.g. they put you in smoking rooms when non smoking requested, key cards expire halfway through stay, only half your dinner order arrives) but it's supposed to be among the better hotels in JB.

Trying to please but still room for improvement
lovely pool with plenty of in house dining options. Very polite staff who always acknowledge you and greet you. Rooms are spacious.

Despite the warm welcome and polite staff, the hotel and its service are still falling just a bit short in the small details. Eg, failing to replace the laundry bag and list after the first lot of laundry, grotty grouting in the shower recess, damage to the carpet just outside the door in the hall. On one occasion, the toilet cistern pump was making a loud continuous noise. I had to wait a fair while for the technicians to come to my room. There was water all over the bathroom floor. Technicians fixed the problem and promised that they'll get housecleaning to come and clean up. This never happened and in the end I had to place towels on the floor and have a shower before going to bed. It's all these little issues that are not quite up to the standard of a 5 star hotel.
But in every other way, it is a reasonable hotel for the price. The staff are on the whole friendly and the beautiful pool is refreshing. Rooms are a bit old but still reasonable and spacious. View of the straits is nothing to write home about but better than views of the "city". Location is not so central from a walking point of view but McDonalds and Denga Beach are not far away.
Hotel Feature Tip:
This hotel used to be the Hyatt apparently. When catching a taxi, you may still need to use that name if the taxi driver is unfamiliar with the current name Thistle. Also, Denga Beach is worth a visit in the evenings with food stalls, rides, etc.

luxury hotel with nice location.great view of tebrau straits and johor bahru square.beautiful swimming pool and garden.if you come by car, the parking ticket need to show it to the reception, so that it can be waived.

The hotel rooms need a major renovation

the hotel building is very old, the car park is run down like an old warehouse. the room is ok but the bathroom is very old and needs a major make over to qualify for the 5 stars hotel as i would rate this hotel for the maximum 3 stars for the room and bathroom. however, the only nice thing is the lobby, restaurant and pool although the pool tiles are dirty and stained too.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Lego Land is nice and my kids are also enjoying Sanrio Hello Kitty land.
