We stayed in Tistle for 2 days as we visited Lego Land. The hotel is good, nice, and quite clean but the service is not five star. We ask for adaptor and never got one. We ask for the free shuttle as advertised, but never got it. It's just a small car shuttle they said. Staff do not show extra care to make customer happy. Overall, the hotel must improve on the hospitality. I may want to choose different hotel when I go to JB again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Lego Land is a good place to visit but too bad they do not have money changer around there, although they have a mall.

It is very nice new hotel. Loby is very nice and it has good swimming pool and gym. Rooms are specious and nice. It serves excellent breakfast. All the employees are very polite and attentive. Room we stayed has very nice seaview. Hotel is perfect for business travelers and is also good for the family with children. Historical part of Johor is right in front of the hotel and shopping malls are 10 minutes drive. Border to Singapore is also ten minutes drive but i recomend during weekend to reserve one to two hours to cross the border if you travel by car due to traffic at the customs control.

The hotel a bit outskirts but in the night there are plenty of food stalls opposite the hotel. Shopping center about 15 minutes from the hotel. Love the big swimming pool especially if you have small children with you. Everything are fine except carpet inside the room are smelly and sticky...

overall service is above average. breakfast is excellent with resonable pricing.in-house guest can purchase breakfast coupons at reception at only rm25 per pax if stay is excluding breakfast. i like the room's bed which is extremely comfortable. only problem is that the parking area is rather inconvenient if you are driving. suggest to drop your passengers and bags before parking your car, as you need to change from service lift to lobby lift, and it is a lilttle far for family who travel with infant or kids.
Restaurant Tip:
Danga Bay is just a distance away, about 2-3 km. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from. We had seafood for 2 nights.

i reached @ 29 dec. asked for a non smoking room. the room i had had a smoking smell so strong when i opened the door, my gal immediately reject it. asked for a change of room, had my second room. started to unpack and then realise that the ceiling was leaking... went down to the lobby and asked for a change of room again. the staff personally went up with me and inspected the third room to ensure no faults before passing me the room key card.

My stay is because I wanted to have dinner with my ex-boss and family who just came back from Dubai. It is my fault that I did not book the table for the dinner. With the kind assistance, your F & B Manager on duty that day help me and assured that he try his best to have table for 8 pax. At 7.45pm there is only table of 4 availble. By 8pm, I got my table for 8 pax side by side.

Can Do Better With the Room and Shuttle Service

we stayed here for 3 nights, and for two nights, we had to bear with soaking wet bathroom as one of the pipes seems to be leaking badly, causing the entire floor to be wet and unsafe to walk in. we complained about this after the first night, but no action was taken. after the second night, we had asked them to inspect again, but they seem to have gotten the wrong diagnosis as the floor ended up flooded again in the morning. we were in room 905 by the way.
the complimentary shuttle service that brings guests to legoland and johor premium outlet is an excellent idea for foreigners and guests from outstation to get a chance to relax. however, we were almost left stranded at the premium outlet, after some miscommunication with the driver about the pick-up time to return to the hotel. we took the 10.30am shuttle there and was informed to wait at the drop-off point before 2.30pm, which we did. however, i was left chasing the shuttle vehicle and did not manage to get the driver's attention as he sped off. we had to wait for the next one at 4.30pm, but due to bad traffic, we ended up waiting till 6.00pm before our ride came. thankfuly, we got on it but had already wasted 3 hours waiting and waiting. with a little kid that has nothing to do, we got so tired and stressed. what irritated us was we actually arrived at the drop-off point at 2.20pm, but was still not able to take the ride back. if he would have told us 2.15pm, we would not have gone in to one of the shops near the drop-off point to cool off in the afternoon heat.
overall, minus the above two set backs, we enjoyed our stay as we also drove in to singapore. the hotel distance is just over 5 kilometres and driving to the immigration checkpoints was easy. shopping malls and surrounding environment was good too. we also enjoyed the local seafood dishes located 500 metres away. if you want a midnight snack, there is a mcdonalds drive through nearby as well which opens 24-hours.
