Very well kept and Luxury and modest Hotel in JB

It's my 3 rd time staying here. Last stay was about a year ago. Still as new as last stayed. Very well maintained.
Equipped with nice and great gym which suit me the most.
Nice swimming pools and good services.
Restaurant Tip:
Taking a dinner at Yi Jia Restoran Sdn Bhd. A very nice seafood restaurant and pricing is reasonable as well.

Beautiful and romantic place & top notch service.

It's our most beautiful experience and hotel stay in all of the hotels we have stayed in because of the overlooking bayview of Johor Straights. And in as much as we have been given a room with full view because it's a corner room - that was a splendid treat for us. We were like honeymooners all over again. Thank God for tyhe favor!
Travel tip:
Be willing to venture out even if it's your first time to be in a place.

Nice hotel with a great poolside restaurant
Old building but has been well refurbished, nice restaurant and convention facilities.

Was pleasantly surprised by how modern the refurbishment made the hotel look. Nice sized rooms but the carpets could use a good cleaning or replacement. The poolside restaurant is great but the parking facility is not so convenient.

I stayed at Thistle JB recently and found their services and facilities were worse than before. Rooms , especially the toilet walls and wash basins were dirty and mouldy, the toilet basin even have a large cracked lines. The shower, (bath tub) , does not drain well, and you have to waddle in about a foot deep of water while showering, the outlet was blocked with hair and other stuff. The food choices and outlets were poor, The Japanese food at Oasis was not genuine stuff, hard fritters for the tempura, not the normal fluffy and crispy Japanese stuff, soyu for tempura and not tempura sauce, too salty. No wasabi and pickled ginger, customer have to request, items that are in the menu were not supplied when food was presented- either the cook was careless and don't know much about Japanese food, or the restaurant is taking clients for a ride. No internet connection in room and lobby- unable to connect, despite being priced in the room charges

i just want to emphazise that based from my reservation i requested for "large bed" and not "twin beds' and non smoking room which is under deluxe category. i'm also complaining about this staff coz she told us that no more non smoking room so we have no choice but to agree with it. we were just suprised that we already agreed for it but the thing is they give us twin beds that made us very mad coz she also didn't inform us coz referring to my request we want "large bed". so what i did i called the front desk for room transfer so they told us that we need to go again to the reception. at first they help us to transfer to non smoking room with large bed but then again we're surprised that this deluxe room don't have bath thub considering that thistle is a 5 star hotel. we complain so they give us non smoking room, so we really need to complain first before they give us what we want so it means that lied to us coz she told us that no more non smoking room. another complain no bath thub, i talked to one staff over the phone and informing him that we don't want to come down again in the reception coz we're tired and they already wasting our time. this guy told me thay if we can wait for 45minutes they we can have the room transfer again so i said i don't mind to wait coz they already wasted our time. what really makes me angry keep on waiting for this 45minutes, 1hour turn to 2hour still nobody call us. so i called again the front desk told me to talked to the receptionist after i talked the receptionist the girl hang up with me no manners. i called again and i really loose my temper shouting at this staff that i don't want them keep on passing again ang agian the phone. actually this is our third time in thistle first time is nov 2011 next january 2012 the photos that we have is also in facebook for the said dates. i just to let the thistle management knew that we keep on patronising this hotel since last year and i
Travel tip:
even plan to bring my family on christmas but with the kind of service you've given us I don't think will be visiting this hotel again. Can you imagine we reach the hotel at 4pm then at 7:15 before they finally give us the room that we wanted.

Looks ok from the outside but the interior is not well maintained

The furnishings in the room look old. We had to change room as the bathroom doesn't look clean with hair on the basin and bathtub. But the second room is not any good either, with stains on the bathtub and the carpet right outside the bathroom is always damp.

Hotel with a lovely view
The view is amazing and the space is rather spacious for two

The service is good. The view from the room was amazing as it overlooks Singapore. The buffet is also good and the facilities are acceptable. The fact that car parking is made available at no charge to the guests is also another plus point. However, it would be nice if the spa could accommodate more guests at any point of time.
