Scenic Hotel with a great location

We were here on our anniversary when we first got together. It was a special occasion and we wanted a special hotel to celebrate. We have certainly picked the right hotel as our check-in was fuss-free and efficient. All our special requests were met. We had a free upgrade as we were first-timer stayers and our room made us fall in love with this hotel. The views of the straits was beautiful and we had a most wonderful stay. Thistle has certainly brought views worthy of a sea-side resort to the heart of JB. Kudos.

didn't expect there are such hotel in malaysia with such good standard, even though there are some unsatisfied with the room but overall we have pleasant stay there. love the atmosphere because when you inside of the hotel area you will felt like you are out of city area but actually you just at the roadside.
there are 3 restaurants inside the hotel but we only tried 2 of it, the best is glass restaurant offering a good buffet deal with a good price. this is a must try. we tried another restaurant named oasis, we felt so dissapointed. at first, i thought of trying their ala carte items but the reception was offering they will having dinner buffet on weekend comes with a small bottle of wine. but the selection of dish is pathetic and the taste is so-so. really regretted, should have try their steak instead of buffet.

i shared the room with a friend. we had tried booking single beds but the hotel had run out so we had to share a king-sized bed, which turned out alright as the bed was huge.
the room was comfortable and big. i would have preferred a hand-held shower extension instead of just an overhead shower.

thistle is located along the coast, making it extremely convenient to drive to from singapore. the standard rooms are very spacious with a big, comfy bed. the bathroom is as spacious, with both a bathtub and a shower. :) try asking for a room with a view of the coast. the hotel is relatively close to danga bay or stulang (for seafood). just a minute's walk from the hotel is also a small outlet selling malay food. staff is efficient and friendly. there’s also a high speed internet cable in the room (and if you’re singaporean, you also get our local network because of the close proximity to home).
