It is close to the airport. Very efficient check in and check out.
If you want to spend your holiday here, you will probably be disappointed. It is more like a buseniss hotel.
We only stayed here one night, because the next day our jungle trip already started. The check in was very efficient, as we were checking in after midnight. The breakfast was good, the rooms clean and normally equipped. For a transfer hotel is good, because it is close to the aiport; only a 10 minutes drive.

friendly staff, welcome drink, good breakfast for Asian standards, taxis readily available

We stayed at Beverly hotel for 2 nights. It was very busy as it was Malaysian holidays. There were a few delays checking in but they accomodated with a welcome drink. The room was of a fairly good standard, a bit dated but a fair price for the money. The pool area could be improved as there were no shade and the view was of construction. Overall, the staff were very friendly and it was a pleasant stay. The location could have been better as you have to walk across a highway to get to the main centre point but taxis are readily available from the hotel for 10 ringgit to the waterfront.

There was a very good breakfast with asian and european food.
The location of the hotel is not quite convenient.
It is a very nice and clean hotel. Very comfortable for families with children. And the restaurant is also good. There was a very good breakfast with asian and european food. I stayed in this hotel for 3 days in Aug. 09 with my wife and two daughters. The first day, the hotel cannot arrange a connected room for me. But on the second day, the hotel immediately arrange a connected room for me. It enabled me to take care of my little daughters easily. The staff of the hotel are very helpful to provide travel information to us. It made me feel very comfortable and have a 'home' feeling. However, the location of the hotel is quite far away from the city centre. The swimming pool is quite small.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : May Bank is just next to the Hotel

Hotel is not to far from the waterfront where the seafood restaurants are situated. Breakfast is good.
The water heater in my bathroom took quite long to be heated.

Rooms are clean and we have connecting rooms which is convenient for my family. On my first day, the water heater in my bathroom took quite long to be heated before i have hot water to bath.

The hotel was nothing much to like, but I didn't really have any complaints either. I guess it's just what anyone would expect from a standard hotel. Pretty friendly staff though.
Personally I wasn't too fussed about facilities (small swimming pool for instance) since I was out most of the time anyway.
If you're looking for a decent place to stay without hurting your pocket, then I'd recommend this hotel.
Travel tip : The hotel is a little out of the way, but taxis in malaysia are cheap, so just take a taxi.

Location is far away from downtown, not enough shuttle bus and no king size bed provided.
Location is not convenience, due to not enough shuttle bus provided by hotel, need to take taxi to downtown for shopping, sightseeing and having the meals. And the price of the taxi is expensive if you need go to the downtown frequently. No king size bed provided by the hotel, not suitable for a family with one little kid to stay. The room is not clean enough, need improvement.

- Exterior looks grand.
- Cheaper than other 4-star hotels.
- "Walking" distance to town.
- Bathtubs need maintenance. Paint peeling off at the base of the bathtub.
- Stains found on the toilet floor in the first room issued.
- Towels have weird smell.
- Hotel staff needs improvement in PR skills. Can be offensive at times.
- Breakfast can have more variaty. Other 4-star hotels provide a sumptous amounnt of choices but not this one.
- Posters in lift are poorly designed which affected impression of 4-star hotel.
The first impression of the hotel just by looking at the exterior seems really grand at first. When stepped into the hotel, there was nobody to assist in handling our luggages. I have been to other hotels and they charge 100RM as a deposit but this hotel requested for 300RM. The staff who attended to us had a sour face as well. When we were issued our room, we were shocked to find blots of stains in our bathroom and the bathtub had these black peeled off cracks which totally turned us off. Immediately, we requested for a change of room and this time, there weren't any stains but the bathtub still had these cracks. That totally ruined our impression of this "4-star" hotel. When we went for our breakfast the next morning, we were disappointed with the variety of food presented to us and throughout our 5-day stay, the food was practically the same. Despite the lack of variety, the quality is decent enough to be edible. On a few occasions, when we approached the staff for assistance, they do not seem too friendly but nonetheless, they still managed to get the job done. I believe if they have been friendlier and more helpful, our stay could have been more enjoyable but other than that, I think it was a decent stay. 4-star? Maybe not. Just because of its size and grand exterior, doesn't make it a true 4-star hotel. I'll give it a 3 instead.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The cab over there do not charge by meter. They have standard pricing and can be very expensive. For example, a megre 5-minute taxi ride from the airport to the hotel cost RM20! Imagine travelling further to the mountains. Yes, it charged by the hundreds!

Hotel location not as good as we thought, need to take 30mins walk from hotel to shangninigan (a famous pub)and wisma sabah (where all major travel agency located). or take RM10 taxi to the city centre where all the local food stalls are located. (I think the taxi fare is quite expensive if you need to travel frequently from Beverly to city centre)
Nice staff there, always willing to help out with any tourist information, e.g. local tour, postcard mailing, transoprtation, etc. My boyfriend and I stayed on 8/F, the view is actually quite nice. You don't expect the kind of splendid sea view from Beverly, but from our balcony we could see the whole rainbow after raining (nothing block our view in front). Room is very tidy, very clean and spacious. We all felt satisfied with the money we paid. Breakfast is just ok, Asian and Western food, served from 6:30 to 10am; best for tourists like us who need to catch the jour bus at 7am.
Hotel Feature Tip : Bring your own hair dryer. The one in the hotel bathroom always heats up and stops functioning!

Clean, friendly and not-so town-located hotel
No public transport beside taxi or hotel's transport operated at fixed time daily, toiletries provided at hotel are not complete, eg. no toothbrush/paste, disposal shaver, etc. But, when asked, hotel staff gave hardened toothpaste which was unable to be pressed out and the swimming pool is not big enough to enable free space if more than 5 person.
Generally, the hotel is clean and neat but the location is not that centralised to enable free and easy movement by walking though we can call for taxi or wait for fixed hotel's twice daily time schedule. As a 4-star hotel, it has to provide basic toiletries such as toothbrushes/paste, disposable shaver, hand lotion, etc. for guests because most of us do not bring them for ease of travelling. The nos. of non-smoking rooms are limited to 3 levels in hotel building and as there are many requests, we were told to wait for the cleaning/tidying work to be completed within 15 minutes. Finally, we have to wait for an hour of waiting at the hotel reception. As more levels are allocated for smoking, we were also deprived of a Delux room because most of them are allocated in smoking zone area.
Restaurant Tip : We patronised a restaurant of same company but at different outlet and the food tasted very very much different. So please check out the food quality at that outlet before ordering the food for your meal.

The Beverly hotel is close to the airport and convenient if you have early morning flightthe next day. Restraunt is nice and quiet with good menu but not everything is available
Not everything on menue the evening we stayed was avaiable took several attempts to get a lucky strike on something they had before for my business companion could eat and was slow coming to the table.
We arrived tired as we had worked the full day before getting the flight into Kota Kinabalu from Philippines and there was some confusion at the checkin desk as the ony rooms available were twin bed. However it was not a big problem as we were tired. The rooms were nice had all the amenities expected, were clean and comfortable. We wanted to unwind a little before diner and bed but unfortunately the only bar is in the foyer were there were a trio of singers and the volume was a little high. Service was efficient we had couple of drinks but could only talk and discuss business during the bands break. Would be nice if they had a more quiet secluded are for those not seeking entertainment. Diner was in the hotel my choice was available and delightfully presented well and I enjoyed it. My friends experience was a bit more stressful as he had to change his order three times due to non availability. Restful nights sleep but too early a departure for breakfast. All in all it was an average hotel stay but I would stay again.

We loved the breakfast and that it was close to the main town
Our stay was really enjoyable, all the staff were really polite and helpful apart from the mix up with the dates of our stay. The food was just wonderful and very tasty. We felt it was in a great spot for shopping and going to the islands,
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : It was great to jump in the taxi and get off at the jetty about a 7 min drive and get a boat to the islands. There are many to choose fromn and go very often. At the end of the day there is always a taxi to take you home.

Hotel Staff were friendly, room is clean and comfortable
Some rooms is not as good as others.
I stayed in the hotel for two nights in two different rooms which is just next to each other. The first room was noisy because its located near a pipe i guess and the wallpaper was peeling. Air conditioning was not strong too. However the second room i stayed in was good. Quiet, good air condition and pretty room. I just don't understand how two room located just next to each other can be so different. Breakfast provided was not great but good enough.
Travel tip : I drove a car to the hotel so getting around wasnt really a problem but if you do not have a car then there will be quite a walk to city center.
