it was just opposite to a shopping complex with cinema, which is just nice to spend time when you had nothing to do. the room is clean and comfortable.

Great hotel

Our stay was short but we had alot of fun, the staff was exceptional, friendly, aproachable and knowledgeable regarding the surroundings of the hotel.
Breakfast was top notch with everything I could want for brekkie.
I chose this hotel because of the location as it was right in the middle of everything.
All in all a great experience with this hotel, would book this hotel again through Agoda again if I ever need to travel there.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Too many places to mention, have to experience it yourself first hand!

Large Comfortable Hotel With Great Location

This is a large, comfortable hotel well located near the boat terminal leaving for the islands. It's relatively quiet, furnishing in the room were nice with a good sized room, very comfy pillows and bed. Unfortunately, there's a new shopping center nearby so your view of the ocean might not be great and might be partly blocked. Good if somewhat basic buffet breakfast that always had some fresh fruits, salad, Asian cuisine (usually noodles and rice soup), toast, scrambled eggs etc. If there's something missing here, it's character because this hotel could pretty much have been anywhere in the world: they should try to integrate Borneo more into the hotel. Also, no gym (under renovation, maybe permanently)and few if any facilities (spa etc.).

The best selling point of this hotel is its location. It is located opposite of Suria Shopping Mall, walking distance to Jesselton Jetty & Gaya Street. Plenty of foods around here, night life, Gaya Sunday market and of course shopping. We walked to jesselton jetty for trip to visit Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, we don't even need a taxi. Because of its location, we save a lots on the taxi fare. Very suitable for traveler without transport and affordable room rate.

good location but lousy internet connection
located right in the heart of city

everything from room to breakfast spread was good. nice cold air conditioning system. good shower system too. the only greatest setback is the internet / wifi connection. even the room connection which is only available through cable is totally hopeless & slow if you are lucky to be connected. the constant apology from front desk of "sorry it's because full house & over usage" does not sell ! they just need to upgrade to a greater router & a faster internet system. we have business letter to read & replies to make. very frustrating !
Restaurant Tip:
great cheap seafood restaurant, port view seafood restaurant very nearby. walk into the opposite shopping mall and exit the other side of mall, cross the main road & keep left & you will see the restaurant.

have a confortable stay here again. its my 3rd times. very convenient as located in the heart of kota kinabalu city. food is not a problem. room was spacious enough, hot shower was good and have complimentary news paper every morning.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
easy access to nearby jetty for onward tour to nearby park island and a very nice sunset view.

but,
have to cheak in after 2pm,mean we can not use room for 24hours.

stay for 3 nights.location was superb.near suria sabah, philipines market and jesselton jetty.the room is spacious.furniture looks new.but need to pay for parking.compared to promenade hotel, it just cost per entry.
Travel tip:
you don't have to rent a car for the first day.you can just walk to jetty to go to island and eat seafood at philipines market.

Hotel is well located within eateries, shopping and Ferry Terminal which is important for free and independent travellers.(FIT) Clean rooms, good services and availability of Wi Fi are all essentials of FIT.
Recommended for anyone travelling as FIT.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
There are many tour operators. Check their prices.
For island hopping, it is much cheaper to book direct with the operators at Jesselton Point Jetty.
