Free car park for the guest, many restaurant nearby. Seaview room is very nice and the room is very big. but the swimming pool is small and a bit smelly in that area.

I prefered to eat local food outside the hotel instead of inside hotel.And best thing is that this hotel is located at the center of the city and many restaurant are located in the walking distance.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Central market is located just near by (maybe 5 minutes on foot) and jetty is also near and convinient to visit to the coral island by boat(maybe 20-30minutes)

It is not far from the market and nice room , good view. i can said it is lovely to stay in this hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
it is not far if you will take a boat to snorkeling or diving from the hotel. very nice to see sunset view from this hotel.

Standard five stars hotel with full amenities, clean and comfortable bed, nice complementary tea and coffee provided, at very good location. The best part of our stay was all their staffs that we met were nice and friendly, the receptionist, bell boy, waiter, and even the house keeper and cleaner.

Amazing room and amazing view, highly recommended!
Amazing view from the large windows of the sea-view room; very comfortable bed; good lighting; good work chair; great swimming pool..

I moved to this hotel after a few days' stay at the Promenade. The special price for the sea-view room was one of the attraction, and I'm glad I made the move. The sea-view room is fantastic, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the South China Sea and the islands of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park.
The breakfast buffet is very tasty (although Promenade Hotel's is still more tasty), the pool is a good length (not too short for laps), and the hotel is very close to shops and good restaurants.
One very small lack: no bath tub. I don't know if it's only my room or other rooms as well. The rain shower almost makes up for it, but still it would have been nice to have a tub and soak while enjoying the sea view.
Restaurant Tip:
Another vote here for a visit to Little Italy restaurant. It's a gem!

The exterior is a bit old but rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. Convenient location for walking around to shopping and restaurants. Wifi only free for 1 hour and after paying for 24 hour access, it doesn't work on the iPhone. Only laptop and tablet can use the wifi.
Concierge staff is efficient and very friendly.
Nearby bars and restaurants are quite good too.

Very good service and clean well appointed rooms
The rooms were modern, well appointed and clean. The staff, particularly at the business centre were very helpful.

we only stayed one night enroute to sandakan. downtown kota kinabalu does not seem to have a lot to offer in terms of good bars and restaurants. we visited a couple of places and were less than impressed with the service, the food and the narrow range of drinks on offer. it might be fine for young backpackers but we of advancing years expect much better.
