5-star resort, 1-star experience
Gorgeous beach, secluded location

Boasting itself as a 5-star resort and spa, my family and I were more than excited to be staying at Nexus Resort's newly opened pool villa during the long weekend holiday. It was, instead of a relaxing holiday, a frustrating and tiresome one.
During check-in, there was a long line-up of guests checking in/out. Turned out there were only 2-3 staff (the manager or person-in-charge was nowhere to be seen) at the front desk where one of them was constantly answering phone enquiries. When it was finally our turn, we were told to leave our contact number so that they could call us up when a room was available. We refused to wait and upon insistence, they gave us a room. There were guests who waited 2 hours and were still waiting for a phone call.
One of the most basic things provided by a hotel is towels. Imagine our surprise when we were told that towels were out of supply resort-wide. I sat by the phone for one and a half hours trying to get ahold of housekeeping/room service while my children played in the pool. We did get our towels in the end, they were pool-side towels but we had no choice.
Breakfast the next day was another frustrating experience. The waiting staff was cleaning tables, the cleaning staff cleaned a few tables and disappeared and once again, the manager was nowhere to be seen. Line-up was long, tables were not set-up, guests butted in line but were served regardless and food was not refilled at the buffet line. In the end, I cleared the table I was given and set the table myself.
The resort seems to lack experience in handling a large number of guests even though it has opened for more than a decade long. Its only plus point is that it has a very beautiful and secluded beach.

The most beautiful beach with horrible service

The day of check-in, we arrived at the hotel around 12 and a half.
We could get the key at 2 and a half. On behalf of enjoying the most beautiful beach in the world, we had to waiting for the checking in under the hot sunshine with headache!!!!!!
They were terrible. Honestly sucks

If u are concerning abt visiting there, u should be extremely patient with waiting over and over.
And here is a surprise.
At 10pm approximately,we stayed in the room. All of sudden a worker from hotel opened the door with the master key without any notification.

Fantastic location, great room, average service

The pool was excellent by the beach and the staff very efficient with towels and drinks. The room was perfect and well kept. The locale of the hotel was just a 30 minute drive from Kota Kinabalu central, so if you want good and not hotel food, drive out! One major hiccup during our entire stay was the check in, as it was a public holiday...the place was swamped with holiday makers and we could not check in for almost three hours but we did the next best thing was submitted our registration and changed into our swimsuits and just chilled at the pool and the beach while our rooms got sorted out...with welcome drinks

Hotel Feature Tip:
The hotel does provide tourist package services at the hotel itself,but some of the activities will take up one whole day.If you are more too beach vacation my advice would be utilized your stay at the resort instead.

Not sure is it we went there during Hari Raya, so most staffs on holidays, we wait for 3hours just to check-in. Luckily they serve us some sandwiches and drinks, if not we going to dry for waiting.

lovely hotel and service with a smile
I like the hotel as the size of the rooms are big and comfortable.

everything excellent inside the hotel room but i would recommend to expand the restaurant and kid swimming pool to slightly bigger size. they are not sufficient to accommodate huge quest especially during holiday season. for example, room guest have to q for the breakfast when population are more.

Good View Hotel but service a bit slow

Good view hotel, Good Location Hotel. The room's furniture a bit old and got a lot of small insects inside the room especially the area near by the bed.
There also got cockroach inside the room especially under the pillow of the bed.
The water from bathtub was quite dirty. The water was become yellow and it make me to give up my desire to take my bath inside the bathtub.
