Great Location

Was wrongly informed by staff at Reception to go up to the Executive Club Reception on 11th floor for check-in. Then was told that only twin bed room was available. We are 2 of us; husband & wife, so I said "No". Was told to wait so we left our bags there & went out. When we got back later in the evening, we were given a Queen-bedded room on 9th floor.
We ordered some bread & coffee for breakfast the next morning and received some stale bread with marmalade jam in a saucer & no butter.
Check-out was smooth & fast. The staff was generally friendly and the overall stay was good
Shopping Tip:
5 minutes walk to Wawasan Shopping Complex on the left of the hotel and 10 mins to Centre Point Shopping complex on the right. Lots of good restaurants just walking distance away from the hotel which is great

Nice hotel with great service

Had a great stay at the Promenade, it was close to most things, the jetty where you take the boats to the islands was a leisurely 30 min walk and there were quite a few shopping centres near by. Staff were always happy to help. Enjoyed using the spa/sauna/steam room and the gym looked well equipped. Only annoying thing was that my bed was very squeaky.

my wife and i arrived at the hotel at about 2.30pm on 13 july 2011. upon check-in, we were told that the room was not ready. we were advised to come back an hour later for the guest to check out. we went back to the check-in counter at 4pm (1.5 hrs later) and was made to wait till 4.30pm before we were given the key to our room. i also saw a few other guests suffering the same fate as us.
we didn't made a formal complaint except asking for the reason why we needed to wait for so long to check-in.

promenade kota kinabalu is a great place to stay either for business or holiday trip. location are strategic and surounded with all kind of restaurant and bars
Nightlife Tip:
There is a pub in first floor of this hotel where we can ejoy fresh beer, wine and whisky while enjoying live band performance.

Beautiful hotel and staff friendly

We enjoy our stay at the junior suite. It would be much better if breakfast will be included. We are planning to stay there again next week in the same type of room.
Restaurant Tip:
The hotel is closed to seafood restaurant and shopping centre is not very far just a walking distant.

Excellent Hotel with great service.

Requested a non smoking room prior to arrival but was placed into a smoking Junior Suite. Upon our request to be moved to a non smoking floor the next day, we were upgraded. Our stay with the Promenade Hotel was fantastic and will be returning again hopefully next year.
Shopping Tip:
This city was shoe & bag shopping heaven!!

The location and price are undoubtedly the two major selling points to the Promenade. You are close to the shops, the many market including the cool seafood market, and right on the redeveloped waterfront area (will be interesting to see what it will look like). Rooms are old, on the smaller side, but comfortable, and clean.
Shopping Tip:
Seafood Market! Try some amazing delicacies, big prawns, crays, etc. Oh and the mangos are simply the best.

we had a good time at kota kinabalu... we are lucky to have a friend who arranged our travel there... we just go home in the hotel to sleep... it is relaxing but i suffered from bed bug bites... there is also scent of smoke all over the hotel specially the hallway... but i can say that the staff did their best to please us...
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Go to the mountains of kota kinabalu where there is hot spring ang cold bath... Its the best and the canopy walk is a unique experience
