Lots of activities for the family including the orangutan viewing (amazing!), hiking, sailing, kayaking, jet skiing, bike riding, pool table, game room, etc. Wonderful kids club supervised with good activities/programs for the kids.
It's a very large hotel and thus it is not very "private". You can indeed find quiet spots along the beach however, the poolside was always crowded. Breakfast was also seemed very frenetic. The location is quite far from KK, so once you are at the hotel you tend to remain at the hotel - not wandering off for a walk in the city.
Overall this is a wonderful resort. The staff is outstanding - especially with children. At the pool they took time to learn the kids name and aided and encouraged them on the water slides, watched out for them, etc. Kids club is fantastic. The activities, especially the orangutan viewing, are amazing and again it is the staff that makes the activities so enjoyable. They really make it pleasant and are very accommodating. There's always something to do. The facilities were nice with clean, well appointed rooms, a good gym, a clean pool area and beach. There are a variety of restaurants and we especially enjoyed the dinner buffet. The down side to this hotel is that it is big and feels busy - especially at breakfast. Our family really enjoyed our stay and I would highly recommend it as a place to stay for families with children, but as and adult, well, I'd prefer something a little smaller and more personal.
Travel tip : Although a little busy, I highly recommend the dinner buffet. Go on a day you are really hungry as you will want to sample everything! If you prefer quieter, more intimate dining, try the Japanese restaurant or the Indian one.

Beautiful property
lovely pool
great restaurants
excellent service
distance to town and other attractions
couldnt swim beach
We had a truly wonderful stay here, the 2 nights were enough to enjoy most of the resorts facilities, the buffet breakfast was good, with lots of variety. The food at the fine dining restaurant 'Coast' was superb. The beach front at resort was nice but not swimmable, perhaps, because it was jellyfish season. The staff service was exceptional. The Orangutan sanctaury was nice. Just remember the resort is a fair distance out of town, we advise to divide the trip to KK into 2 parts 1 part in town and one part at the resort.
Restaurant Tip : Try the fish head curry at the restaurant where breakfast is served, and dine at 'Coast' its worth the money

Friendly staff, prompt service, great surroundings and ground with a magnificent view of the beach and sea. The room that i stayed in was clean and well furnished. The day bed was excellent!
Could not use all the swimming pools as they segregate according to where you stay. What a waste as the pool over at the more expensive hotel rooms were under-used.
My wife and I had a great time there when we visited Kota Kinabalu. Its chief attraction was that its quiet and out of the way. However, the grounds were beautifully kept, and the staff were friendly and quick to respond. The breakfast was very very good. We also had a great time using the facilities including complimentary use of the tennis courts and the pools. Further, we took the opportunity to do the jungle walk and ride horses. For dinner, if you do not want to eat at the hotel, there is this great Seafood place called Gayang where the seafood is fresh and the price is reasonable. Too bad that you would have to charted a taxi for RM60 each time you have to go out for dinner. Other than that, the hotel is great value for money!
Travel tip : Go to Gayang for dinner. There is also an alternative called Salut, but the food is more rough, though cheaper. When ordering coconut drinks, asked for Pandan Coconut, the smaller ones which are sweeter. The bigger the coconut, the less sweet it is.
