Very small, basic airport hotel

The rooms are TINY but quite cleverly designed. We arrived very late and left very early so we only had two jets fly thru our room. Wouldn't count on much sleep otherwise.

clean, simple, friendly staff

I always stay here due to the early 7:40am flight from KK to Tawau. It's minutes from the KK airport, and they offer free land transfer. This allows maximum sleep-in time before the early flight. The rooms need some renovations, but they're relatively clean, with an LCD TV, free wifi that actually works, free bottles of water, and towels. This last time, the room I got had a longer, larger bathroom with a big sink.
Shopping Tip:
An Orange convenience store recently opened across the street, but I still prefer the local wholesale shop a few shops down that sells everything from kitchenware to snacks and drinks.

Toilet looks better than the room itself. Next to a 24-hour cafe that serves local meal. Non-smoking rooms, so for smokers, it may not be convenient.

I chose this hotel during my last night stay in Kota Kinabula mainly because it is just 4 min drive from airport & there's free airport/hotel transfer.
The room is clean & nicely decorated. The drawback is the room is quite small, but given the low price, I am satisified with it. The thing we don't like is the glass walls of the bathroom which is quite inconvenient unless you travel alone.

Great interior but small rooms

The hotel is actually small hence the space is limited. Nonetheless, I love how they managed to fully utilize their limited space. I personally choose this hotel as they provide free shuttle van to the airport even when my flight is 645 in the morning!

The hotels is neat, close to the airport, but you also clean hear the plane, that makes it a bit noisy.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
90 km away from KK is the Mount Kinabalu and Mount Kinabalu Park, it is wonderful and a must on each travel agenda .

Great service at the Crown Borneo Hotel. Very helpful staff and very friendly. The room was good as well, the double rooms are luxurious, stylish and have a good size. Nice bathroom too. Real value for money.
Hotel Feature Tip:
The hotel is very near to the airport and has a free shuttle service. Takes less than 5 minutes to reach the airport.
