Friendly & helpful staff. Good restaurant & bar. Decent bathroom. Period character.
The bedroom although clean, could have been better kept, the carpet had not been vacuumed well. The bed linen, although clean, was old.
Fine for a short stay. KK, although friendly, is not the world's most attractive tourist destination. Sabah itself is one of the most beautiful places in the Far East. The Jesselton Hotel has real charm and the guest is made very welcome. The restaurant must be one of the best in KK and is very reasonably priced. The lack of a swimming pool & other 5 star luxuries, is a small price to pay for the comfort and convenience of this hotel. I don't think it would suit those with very young children, but for the more mature traveller in the East it is excellent.
Restaurant Tip : All restaurants in KK appeared very good. For the prices charged, the one at the Jesselton is excellent. Alcohol, sometimes a problem in Malaysia, is readily available throughout KK and is cheap.

friendly helpful staff, attractive boutique hotel, pleasant location, room comfortable and pleasant.
breakfast served cold each morning
I enjoyed my stay at the Jesselton Hotel, particularly enjoying its small ,intimate friendly atmosphere. It would appeal to people who like me, prefer this to uniformity of the larger chains.
My room was very comfortable and clean, the presentation of the room was good. The location of the hotel was central, convenient and attractive.

Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Ambience and room condition good.
WiFi connection no good. Signal very weak in hotel room. Have to go to hotel lobby in order to get connection.
Jesselton hotel is well located within the city. Ambience is good except for large number of birds which gather on the trees outside the entrance. The bird feather is a nuisance and also fear of bird flu. The WiFi connection is not good in the hotel room. Signal strength is always zero. Have to go to hotel lobby in order to get access to network.
