Great hotel and resort
Large rooms in the club wing. Club lounge treated us like Royalty. Staff were all fantastic and couldn't do enough for us.

We had a great stay at the Magellan but utilized all the facilities of the resort. The quiet breakfast and pre dinner drinks and nibbles in the lounge were most appreciated by us.
Restaurant Tip:
Use all the facilities of the resort and interchange between the restaurants.

Bad service and out of condition room facilities

I hate the service there so much. It is a 5 star hotel, but they only can offer 3 star hotels service or evenj less. There is only 2 people dealing with check in and check out at 12 noon. They keep me waiting for 15 mins at least.
Moreover, the shuttle bus is overbooked. I dont understand why I have to book the bus. It's so stupid that I have booked the shuttle bus but cannot get on it.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Try to arrive earlier for the shuttle bus. Booking means nothing and it is first come first serve basis.

It was a very relaxing vocation for us. The location and facilities of hotel is very good and we are satisfied with their service / food & facilaties. Besides, it was also convenience for guests go for shopping or dinning as hotel offer shuttle bus service between hotel and city every hour. Although it is not Free transport service but only charge a few RM is OK. We hope hotel could consider to widen their Free Wifi coverage into Room will be perfect!

Only Lan cable internet service at room, Free Wifi available at hotel lobby or beside swimming pool.

I was fortunate to be upgraded to a suite, with giant sized rooms and sea view balcony. Bathroom had nice window out to the bedroom with a giant bed and a true 5 star feel to the place. Suite had lounge and dining room, though I didn't use the dining room, the lounge was very nice. There were large Samsung LCD TVs in both the lounge and bedroom. The private balcony with chairs and table was great for watching the sunset. Need to be careful about letting mosquitoes in the room when going out to the balcony though. Hotel has plenty of catering choices but to get a taste of local cuisine at more reasonable prices, travelling in to town is a must. The cons were no wireless LAN access, and all but one of the power sockets were very low, close to the floor. This means any chargers that have a cable attached to the bottom of the charger cannot be plugged in to the sockets. Only the kettle socket in the whole suite was off the floor! Staff were great, but the transport into KK town centre is a joke. For a hotel of this size with so many guests, there is only one shuttle bus per hour and taxis don't bother to queue at the hotel, so you'd be lucky if someone was just returning to the hotel in a taxi and you grabbed it. The shuttle bus in to town must be booked in advance, so plan ahead!
Shopping Tip:
For mobile phone accessories and ordinarily priced goods, Centre Point is around a 5 minute shuttle ride into town. West of the mall is the Waterfront restaurant area. Hotel shuttle bus also stops at Wisma Merdeka, a mall for locals, but where you can find the money exchangers offering better rates than the banks and others I found in town. Further north from Wisma Merdeka is the newer and more up-market Suria Sabah Shopping Mall. There is a big shopping mall called Borneo One around 20mins bus ride north of town centre, but it is so empty and cumbersome to get to, I would definitely not recommend going there at all.

We spent three nights in the hotel with super friendly staff. It is great for both couple and family.
Shuttle bus is available every hour to the City for RM3 or RM12 by taxi. Make sure you get a timetable with you for the shuttle bus.
Our AC did not work well on the first night so we called to the front desk. Their technician showed up in 10 mins!!
The hotel has a yatch club where we joined a tour to the island. Unfortunately the weather is not good, otherwise we will have a great time.
