Great location but small rooms

If you're in Kuala Lumpur only for short time in order to travel to another place, Ancasa Hotel & Spa is a great choice for you. It's located just beside the bus station. One block away, you can find Chinatown where numerous of things is sold. From knock-off bags, clothes, foods and drinks, to antique stuff. You can also reach Bukit Bintang area only with 20 mins walk.

Good location but poor service and standards

This was my third stay at Ancasa and it will be my last.
Check-in was slow with the front desk unable to locate their copy of the voucher.
Eventually sorted but no porter or assistance offered to get my bags up to the room.
Room 1411 is certainly tired and in need of maintenance - chips out of the front door, bathroom shelf not cleaned and noisy air conditioner. Room also has a connecting door so be aware if you do not want to be disturbed by your neighbours returning late at night/early morning.
On day two I advised the service desk of the airconditioner and was advised it would be fixed. I also requested a morning newspaper.
On my return the duty manager confirmed the ac unit had been repaired and the morning paper was arranged. I also requested a late checkout and was advised 1300 hrs was the latest possible - checkout at 1600 hours would cost an additional MYR 1350.
Duty manager was totally arrogant in his demeanour - clearly he could not care less about customer service.
No newspaper the following morning so I requested a paper at breakfast to be rudely told papers were available but they were not to leave the dining area.
The level of service is not acceptable with table staff removing plates before you have finished and without asking.
Neither I nor my business associates will be staying here again. Better value exists in this area and certainly other hotels take a greater interest in making paying guests feel welcome.

used stay at this hotel as it is convenient for shoping and also close to bukit bintang/time square etc. this probably a good hotel around the china gtown area. however a better maintenance of room conditions may improve the status of the hotel

Convenient to come to the hotel from airport by taking KLIA express and then a taxi from KL Central for about 10RM

Hotel not matching its location !

Stayed there 2 years ago & find its facilities & breakfast have not improved ! The water system had problems then and now as well - no hot water till we complained. Then hot water came on & surpirsing the reverse was also true!
The rooms looked outdated & things were old but for the price paid, this seems matched up.
If only the management/owners take advantage of the prime location of the hotel and perhaps do a comprehensive upgrade of the hotel (the facade is great as it is - it is an icon in KL Chinatown), it can certainly command much higher room & service rates and will beat the other hotels in Bt Bintang and the "Goldeb Triangle" hands down !
Shopping Tip:
typical with most night bazaars, the shopping on the street in chinatown (round the corner) needs to be bargained with ! quoted a price of rm180 but within seconds it came down to rm30 without me even asking (when i started to walk off) ! goods do not have quality though.

this is my 4th stay in this hotel in the last 12 months. i have been very impressed by this hotel room condition and services which exceed the level for the price paid. however,this time is not as smooth due to hotel front office computer system breakdown which caused various problems. i had to change 3 different rooms and the 4th room? still had strucutre problem in the bath water tap that i was not able to get a good shower. nonetheless, the hotel staff was dedicated and helpful to try their best to accommodate my needs.
i would say it was a "bad luck" experience and still i will come back this hotel again.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
can easily get to klcc/petronas tower by lrt. jusf be early for petronas tickets as line is very long but experience is worth it.
