Citin Pudu Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

It is a no frill setting; hence my expectation was without frill as well. The receptionists at best are doing their job by the book, by receiving you with commercial politeness and not the warmth found in most Thailand’s boutique hotels. But then this is Malaysia, and like most Malaysian establishments the staffs seems lacking in products knowledge and does not communicate well when questions were asked in details. Across the board things are going smoothly from checking in to checking out, just that the establishment can do with a little bit more of personal touch which will help to make staying more memorable. I asked for a morning call with my last night but instead of asking me what time, the operator asked me how many rooms should she wake up? However, I did receive a loud ringing promptly on the time I wanted to wake up the next morning (I am not sure if more then one rooms get the ringing at the same time as well?). Breakfast was simple with a buffet combination of Western eggs and toast and Asian curry pancakes and porridge. Good enough to start the day. While the room is small but the bedding is comfortable enough to compensate. There is no shower certain hence the toilet will be all wet and messy if you are not “skillful” in the art of showering. No wireless internet in the room even if you want to pay for it. The service is free at the lobby if you have a laptop or alternatively two computer stations are provided at the café. However, with my first night the internet was down. Overall, it is a can do hotel for travelers who are on budget and who do not like the idea of a staying at guesthouses or hostels. For the price one pays, it is still value for money!

The rooms are a little bit dated, and need a bit more work to modernise them. We were provided a non-smoking room that did smell of smoke, so the management needs to better police the no-smoking policy of certain floors. Wi-fi throughout the building would be a bonus for budget travellers.

nice and clean hotel with acceptable price. location is near the puduraya terminal and walking distance to petaling street (chinatown). staff performance is very nice, they will serve you kindly and give you detail information.Citin Pudu hotel is one of the best choice of cheap hotel in Kuala lumpur.
