Total cost vs the benefits included (an absolute winner 9.5 out of 10), courteous and helpful staff, good breakfast included in the room rate (eggs included), clean, it had a swimming pool, renovated entrance and dining area had a nice finish (not ritzy though but nicely done)
Bathroom a little dated but hot/cold water supply pressure and flow both good, location a little far from facilities and shopping etc, but we knew this when we booked so no surprises; view from room not very good across to train line (but I still took a few photos) as KL is a city of contrasts: very much the new and the old.
As I said in the PRO's section this little hotel rates a 9.5 out of 10 for value, service and overall package. It is not new and I guess would rate say 6.5 to 7 out of 10 on the type of scale where say a new-ish Sheraton/ Marriott would rate 9.5 to 10 out of 10. The entrance is small compared with the big hotels. Whilst it is located quite a walk from the station, the walk does take you past some of the old Kuala Lumpur shop houses etc. which adds to getting to know KL more. Just watch your step across some of the rough cut-up paving and drains!! For the two of us, and on our budget, for a major SE Asia city hotel, this hotel was met all our requirements. For the price we would recommend it. And try the 24 hour restaurant just on the corner near it - not bad.
Restaurant Tip : Corner 24 hour "Restaurant Sharmlee" or similar name. Good Indian foos there and there are always local dining there. Not the absolute best Indian food though - that is at Mr Khans Bilal Restaurant, in Miri Sarawak which is a bit far to walk!
