Friendly and helpful staff, large rooms

Rooms dated and in need of decorating, shower dangerous as very very slippy.

Set in the "burbs" the Empress Sepang hotel lies approximately 20 minutes from the international airport. While not offering anything spectacular it is acceptable for a one-night transit stay, it offers an early shuttle service to the airport (at a price). Rooms are large basic and clean and the restaurant food is passable, did not have the opportunity to try the breakfast as we left very early and delivery to your room was not an option, staff are friendly and helpful. There is not a lot on offer in the surrounding area as it is a suburb. Great views from the roof and there is a small pool and even smaller gym. Hotel lacks any communal area to meet or relax and there is no bar (well we couldn't find it). Hotel designed for the transit guest.

staff friendly, room big and clean.breakfast OK

poor location, corridors smells of smoke. the kettle was faulty.

we only had a one night stay over at the empress.the hotel is located in a poor area, buildings and houses looks rundown and area looked scary. hotel self looked nice from outside.staff friendly and helpful. corridors smell of old tobacco smoke. our room was remotely furnished but neat, tidy and spacious. the bedding could be better. the breakfast was more than what i expected. it was well presented and the food tasted nice.

Travel tip : lots of shops based around hotel

Location to the Sepang F1 track

Bad food, indifferent service

We chose to stay at the Empress Hotel Sepang due to it's close proximity (about 10 minutes)to the MotoGP/F1 racing track. Getting to the track each day proved to be rather costly as the only transport was option was a taxi which cost 50RM each way each day. The dining room at the Hotel was always very messy, tables were left uncleared for long periods of time and the food was always cold. A sign in the lift advised of a water supply problem and requested people to conserve water (no mention was made of this at check in). After spending our first day at the track we came back to the hotel to find we only had a trickle of cold water that was very rusty. We advised reception and were told we would have water the next morning. During our 4 night stay we had no water at all for a period of about 28 hours straight and cold rusty water on and off for the rest of the time. No bottled water was provided by the hotel during this period. Toilets, bathrooms and coffee cups were not cleaned. We were totally unimpressed with this hotel. Staff were not helpful and at times were very rude. I would not stay here again no matter how cheap it was.

Restaurant Tip : There are a couple of local cafes that are a much better option than the hotel Dining Room.
