Big room plus great services

Was upgrade to a suite as this is my 2nd stay at the hotel.The services have improved as compared to the 1st stay.The wifi was free throughout my stay which I have to pay for during my initial stay.This will enticed me to stay during my next visit.
They provide shuttle services to Pavilion and Times Square which is also a plus point though it's still within walking distance to most of the major shopping mall around Bukit Bintang.

Elegant Hotel Brought down by lack comfort

It was a mixed feeling when staying in the hotel. It was an Elegant hotel when i came to the lobby to check in. Pretty set up, and serious-looking receptionist. The service was fast, and i was pleased. Then i when i came into the room, i was surprised to see such a spacious room! I like it. But, the downside is that, when i open the door, you'll definitely straight away see the bed. which i was quite uncomfortable. The stay was good except the fact that people coming in and out of the service lift, which in front of our room. they were quite noisy in terms of slamming shut the door. I was annoyed because i was looking forward for a quiet stay.
As for the bedroom, the hand wash basin was ok in the beginning. but after awhile it was clogged (not because of my hair mind you). so it seems that it was not properly maintained.
The breakfast was good.

A few niggles but an overall enjoyable stay
Very early check-in provided, large room; sufficient elevators so no waiting around

Arrived early following an overnight flight and was offered a twin room there and then or a double at noon. Took the twin as was shattered so no complaints there.
The swimming pool is much smaller than the photograph might suggest, and is surrounded by diners so no privacy at all, however, this might not be an issue for many. The burqa clad guests might not be too happy seeing costume-clad bodies cavorting while they are having breakfast. Not a problem as far as I am concerned as a western non-muslim.
Niggles mainly concerned seeming lack of response from reception staff who, on the whole were good. These involved maintenance issues, no power to the TV or reading light (tripped fuse) and a leg missing from one of the beds. Reported in the morning but still the same on return to the room late in the day. Re-reported on return and then fixed very quickly with a replacement room offered if the bed leg problem was not fixed, which it was so no room change needed.
The gym is good and appeared to be under-utilised. It has all the equipment needed for a good workout. Breakfast was ok, good if you like buffet breakfasts, and a good variety of western and Asian dishes to choose from. Easy over seemed to be beyond the comprehension of one of the egg chefs who simply pointed to the tray of pre-cooked fried eggs sitting in a tray and going cold.
The above is nit picking stuff as it was an overall enjoyable experience and would return given the opportunity.
Hotel Feature Tip:
If you want your morning eggs cooked to order then request poached eggs. Use the hotel shuttle bus at 11am. 1pm or 3pm to take you to the Pavilion shopping mall or KLCC (twin towers) as it's a lot easier than getting a taxi (a tortuous route out). Take an hotel card as some taxi drivers either don't know where the Furama is or make out that they don't know because they don't want to go there. Although the signs on all taxis say no haggling, some taxi drivers do try to go for not using the meter and haggling for a higher price. Saying that, taxis are quite cheap and plentiful.

In hell we charge for everything

When you are paying upwards, there are certain things you expect, nothing outrageous, just common amenities.
1) Hotel pool closed after certain hour. For Godsake why?? We're all adults here, let's treat each other like it.
2) ""Free Internet"" Yeah right, maybe if you have the ghostbusters van. Just a dangly old Cat-5 Ethernet cable, help yourself sir!! Erm, apple doesn't even make laptops with ethernet jacks anymore. oh WAIT, they know that and are happy to help with a glossy brochure about how you can PAY for wifi. This put me over the edge to writing this review. Burn... just burn.. (as long as nobody gets hurt). Wifi is free at freaking circle k!
Whatever bean counter made this counter productive guest enraging policy can hopefully toss and turn forever knowing that you are p*ssing off way more customers & losing money through your greed.
So save yourself the trouble. If you are flying blind like i was and booking a seemingly well known 'safe' place, just hop across the street. Checking in/out at furama felt like summer camp, the counselors were swamped and i felt out of place and unwanted haha.
Restaurant Tip:
Ali mama two blocks down the drag is great eats for cheap!
