great hotel at a great location
location, staff and quality
This used to be the regent hotel but has since change management. The place has been renovated and another phase of renovation appears to be going on. So if you get a newly renovated room, it is really great. The check in and our is great, no time is wasted. The food is above average. The staff performance is always excellent.

All in all very good feedback. The only concern was the business center where the PC was somewhat dirty with an outdated antivirus software. The printer cartridge needed a change badly and though the use of the center is for free, I would suggest that guests should pay for the printed pages as is done in other hotels to recover cost of paper and for proper maintenance of the PC and printer. thanks

Good location - that is its only redeeming grace!
Location, location, location.
I am frankly unimpressed by the hotel. Firstly, during check in, the check in staff was not polite - there was barely a smile or a greeting. Next, I was asked to place a 500 Ringgit deposit. I queried the staff as to why the amount was so large as I've stayed in other 4/5 star hotels before and none had ever requested such a large deposit. However, the staff could only tell me that this is their policy. This was pretty strange as I had 2 other groups of friends on the trip as well and all of us were quoted different amounts for the deposit. Next, the check in time was 2pm and though I arrived at 330pm, I was told that my room is not available. I had to wait for about an hour before I could check in. I was given a room on the 15th floor but just before I entered my room, I bumped into the concierge who then mentioned that the 16th floor is undergoing refurbishment right now and thus, there will be some noise from 9am to 6pm daily. Now, I would have expected the check in staff at reception to have mentioned this before I checked in. It was only thanks to the concierge that I was made aware of the situation. Moreover, the refurbishment works actually started at about 830 am and ended around 630pm. If you are looking to sleep in like I was planning to, be prepared to be awakened rudely. Fourthly, during check out, I was informed that there was a charge to my room to a local number. Now, we did not have any local friends that we could contact. Moreover, when the check out staff told me the phone number that was placed from my room, I did not even recognise it! In fact, my husband and I were still asleep during the time the call was placed!!! After some negotiation, the staff then agreed to waive off the charges. This is seriously the first time I have placed a negative review of a hotel. The concierge on duty were the only ones whom I feel made my stay somewhat alright. I am pretty sure that I will not want to stay in this hotel ever again.
