Central location, spacious room, nice clean toilet facilities and staff courtesy.

Not too impressed with swimming pool surrounds.

The hotel has spacious rooms with luxurious toilet facilities to match. It is centrally located and is within walking distance to the Bukit Bintang Walk, mega shopping centres, restaurants and train station. Staffs were quite courteous and ready to help. Our request to provide a non-smoking room at a higher level with views of the Petronas Towers was met without much fuss.18th floor with Petronas' view was a treat.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Taxi arranged by staff from the hotel taxi rank turned out to be quite expensive as the meter rises steadily on red light traffic signals. Take one from the roadside if you are not in a great hurry.

Newly renovated so the hotel is clean Some of the staff are very friendly (a few are aloof) Larger than average bathroom with two sinks and a separate toilet area that can be closed FREE INTERNET Affordable for a 4/5 star hotel

For those who want a hotel at the heart of Bintang walk, this hotel is about 5-10 mins walk away But for us the walk wasn't too bad, and a lot of exotic, local places to eat along the way

We had a great stay at Hotel Istana, it was clean and the staff was welcoming and efficient. You have to walk to get to main shopping area but it also means a more peaceful and quieter night's sleep. The hotel is also near Jalan Alor where all the good, local street food is, open till really late. The room was larger than average and relatively spacious. We had a good enough view of the Twin Towers as well. Best part is the affordable rate a night for a hotel we would consider at least 4 star.

Restaurant Tip : Good local food near the hotel on Jalan Alor open till quite late at night.

Location, service levels, great breakfast and lovely beds and linen

Trying to get through to concierge and reception to get some minor first aid assistance took a while, and I was directed to a local 7-11 rather than offered hotel help. Being told soy milk was only available at breakfast at an additional charge of 16 MR!

I stayed overnight en route home from Phuket. The hotel and service were great compared and for an overnight stay, recommended. It would not be to my tastes to stay longer than a day or two as the large hotel service style can be a little impersonal. In an excellent location for shopping and nightlife as well as good for transport access. The hotel is well appointed, with lush carpeting, and comfortable beds, pillows and linen. The breakfast buffet was really varied and the food was good.

Restaurant Tip : Pavillion shopping complex is just down the street - they have a couple of great restaurants in the mall itself, which is also open late. The lebanese restaurant we went to has a belly dancer Saturday nights. Slightly cheesy and exploitative, sure, but the food was actually really good. Sit outside on the deck
