Look like a 5 star hotel with good looking lobby. Location is convenient

Only 3 star service

Service is very poor. Room is only available after 6:00pm. Staff said it is due to many customer, but I did not observe it. I fill the check in form first, go out for dinner and came back at around 10:00pm to see the room is available or not. Another counter staff serve me and request me to fill in check in form again as he cannot find it in the counter. Oh my God!

Shopping Tip : hotel near shopping centre Pavillon with many shops.

The room interior make me fell comfortable and the bathroom is very spacious.

the bed is very hard and the pillow is very small

The hotel location near golden triangle, it's very easy if you want to go shopping or find something to eat. But they need to renovate the exterior and the interior because it looks very old. the hotel cleanliness is good and the staff is very kind and friendly. over all the hotel is good based on your rate.

Shopping Tip : the hotel near to Pavillion (the new shopping mall), Lot 10 andSungai Wang

Beautiful building structure, spacious room and service oriented staff.

I am pretty satisfied with the hotel. No comments in this section.

The staff at the hotel are friendly and attentive to our requests. Service is pretty prompt. Room is spacious enough for 3 pax. Great location too as it is situated near to the monorail station thus makes travelling easier.

location, helpful staff, hotel decorations,

staff was slow in some cases, we were waiting for a safe to be changed in our room as it wasn't working... the staff was very helpful but it took them over one hour to change it over and we were so hungry as we had got of the plane and they told us it wouldn't take long.

we arrived in the hotel and was greeted but the staff and they assisted with our luggage without our request. check in was very efficient and the staff was very helpful. we were very impressed with the entrance of the inside decor, which made us feel like we were rich and lived like kings and queens we arrived in our room to find it fit for a king.... although we had issues with our safe and the housekeeping was up in an instant to check it.. although the safe changeover took over an hour and we were starving to the point where we had to call them back up. they came soon after and we were happily on our way out to the streets of kl.... at times the housekeeping didnt do such a good job... such as finding a crushed nut on our floor... and no sanitary bags for 6 days!!!!! but generally they did a good job.... although the staff are very efficient... facilities were good and were of high standard... although tv did not have much variety.... and the loungse (sunken lounge??) downstairs was very relaxing to sit and catch up over a drink... with live music/band... we were spoilt

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : down the road was bukit bintang... and from we were close to the petronas twin towers... where we can see it in out hotel room.. wat a treat....

Location is great, close to MRT and many nice dining, shopping, nightlife attractions.

The room was not so nice. No view, though the model they showed me had a nice one of the tower----later I found out that one was their model. they only show it and never rent it out.

Before moving into this hotel I asked to see their standard room. they showed me a very nice room with nice decor, very clean, with a great view of the Petronas towers and it even had flowers. What I got when I checked in was a great disappointment, no view, burnt iron impressions in the carpet, and generally a room that needed remodelling. In general this was a 3-star room in wht is considered a 5star hotel. The jaccuzzi and fitness center were ok--staff were friendly. Checking in was a hassle. I had requested a double bed and they told me they only had a twin---had to wait for 15 minutes (I thought they would upgrade me) then got this schlock room. It didn't have a safe so they had to deliver one up to the room..this was at about 9:00 at night. And then the phone light kept blinking when I didn't have messages. I called at 5:00 and they said they would send someone up when I cam back about 10:00 it was still blinking red. They said they would send someone up again but it was too late so I just unplugged the phone. How annoying!

Shopping Tip : There's a short cut to the Pavillion just a/x Jalan Sultan____ a/x from the hotel.

Central location, spacious room, nice clean toilet facilities and staff courtesy.

Not too impressed with swimming pool surrounds.

The hotel has spacious rooms with luxurious toilet facilities to match. It is centrally located and is within walking distance to the Bukit Bintang Walk, mega shopping centres, restaurants and train station. Staffs were quite courteous and ready to help. Our request to provide a non-smoking room at a higher level with views of the Petronas Towers was met without much fuss.18th floor with Petronas' view was a treat.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Taxi arranged by staff from the hotel taxi rank turned out to be quite expensive as the meter rises steadily on red light traffic signals. Take one from the roadside if you are not in a great hurry.

Newly renovated so the hotel is clean Some of the staff are very friendly (a few are aloof) Larger than average bathroom with two sinks and a separate toilet area that can be closed FREE INTERNET Affordable for a 4/5 star hotel

For those who want a hotel at the heart of Bintang walk, this hotel is about 5-10 mins walk away But for us the walk wasn't too bad, and a lot of exotic, local places to eat along the way

We had a great stay at Hotel Istana, it was clean and the staff was welcoming and efficient. You have to walk to get to main shopping area but it also means a more peaceful and quieter night's sleep. The hotel is also near Jalan Alor where all the good, local street food is, open till really late. The room was larger than average and relatively spacious. We had a good enough view of the Twin Towers as well. Best part is the affordable rate a night for a hotel we would consider at least 4 star.

Restaurant Tip : Good local food near the hotel on Jalan Alor open till quite late at night.

Location, service levels, great breakfast and lovely beds and linen

Trying to get through to concierge and reception to get some minor first aid assistance took a while, and I was directed to a local 7-11 rather than offered hotel help. Being told soy milk was only available at breakfast at an additional charge of 16 MR!

I stayed overnight en route home from Phuket. The hotel and service were great compared and for an overnight stay, recommended. It would not be to my tastes to stay longer than a day or two as the large hotel service style can be a little impersonal. In an excellent location for shopping and nightlife as well as good for transport access. The hotel is well appointed, with lush carpeting, and comfortable beds, pillows and linen. The breakfast buffet was really varied and the food was good.

Restaurant Tip : Pavillion shopping complex is just down the street - they have a couple of great restaurants in the mall itself, which is also open late. The lebanese restaurant we went to has a belly dancer Saturday nights. Slightly cheesy and exploitative, sure, but the food was actually really good. Sit outside on the deck

Staff were polite and reasonable. The rooms very big and clean. Good shower and bath. In a very close location to Bukit bintang.

Lift very small. Hard to find hotel by walking.

Myself and 2 others stayed for 1 night in a Family room. The room was huge even though we did not spend much time at the hotel. Staff were polite and in a great location. Definately stay there again!

Shopping Tip : Head to the shopping mall at Time square! Every shop you can think of and an added bonus of having a theme park inside!! Check it out, Great laugh for sol travelers and families alike!!!

Room is big, clean and very comfortable. Great food selection for Breakfast. recent upgraded door security system, very impressive, tap card to open door. Free Internet for customer, at least my room. Location very convenient. Bathroom is great! love their bathroom

Breakfast Menu does not change much. Has been staying in the this hotel for more than 10 times over 3 years. surprisingly, the breakfast buffet menu doesn't seem to change much over the year. Water running from bath tub seem a bit yellowish when the tub is filled. Room is Expansive

Staying in Istana is great. Food is great, even though repeated breakfast menu every morning, still lot of selection to choose from. Hotel Cleaniness is the best. love their house keeping. Location is very convenience, near to Monorail or walking distance to Bukit Bintang for shopping. Love their design for their bathroom.

Shopping Tip : very near to shopping area in bukit bintang and pavillion.

Locality, style, friendly staff

None

Hotel Istana is situated within easy walking distance from Bukit Bintang and several major shopping centres including Sungai Wang, Low Yat and BB Plaza just to name a few. It is a short taxi ride to the KLCC, Petronas Towers,KL Kraft Centre or China Town. All staff are friendly and smiling and the restaurant provides a very good selection of well prepared food - the breakfasts are excellent.

Hotel Feature Tip : We were able to arrange cheaper transport by maxi taxi to the airport by speaking to the taxi concierge

Location/Friendly staff/Nice spacious rooms/Free internet access

Maintenance works from 8AM - 6PM made our late Mornings quite annoying ;-)

Good location just oposite Raja Chulan monorail station/Bukit Bintang area. A few bars/restaurants around, As Bintang area makes the impression of KL being a shopping mall city we had loads of fun discovering floor after floor of the nearest shopping areas. Hotel itself well maintained clean rooms, friendly staff. We have stayed there only 3 nights spending most of the time lingering around. Good value for money period.

Nightlife Tip : turn left from the main entrance into a side street go up and you will get yourself into a very enjoyable bars/restaurants area with some Western places to eat / drink and chat away the night venues. There is an Italian bar/restaurant at the corner - go upstairs - a few funky house DJ's will make you dance the night away ;-)
