hotel facilities and rooms are slightly old but yet is well-kept and clean. tv should have more international channels.
Shopping Tip:
hotel location is ideal for travelers who like shopping as it is only within walking distance to Bukit Bintang shopping and restaurants area as well as Malaysian hawker food stalls in Jalan Alor which is behind Jalan Bukit Bintang.

the slipper provided is of poor quality compare to 5 star standard hotel. the room is not big but has a large toilet and bath tub. have a hard time to figure out how to turn on the shower. walking distance to pavillion is just 5 minutes.

Unfortunately....We were given the room keys for room no 1019...when we open the room to enter....someone was already there....guff up by the staff....the hotel staff asked us (with all lugague and kids) to go down to 1st floor and checkin ...other room was alocated 723...again when we reached...keys were not working...again went back to checkin counter.....lastly...at departure from airport..hotel staff arranged the taxi and without our notice told the taxi driver to collect 5 RM more from us...taxi driver was asking 25 RM and actual meter shows only 20 RM...he was angry with me...anyways..room was good.
---Wifi not enabled...very bad...
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
visit twin towers from outside only....shop at BB plaza..nothing much in KL

Great location but room is.....urgently needs a

Stayed 2 nights furing a business. The location is great, just next to the shopping belts such as pavilion, Lot 10, sungei wang....all within 400m walk. but room is dirty especially the carpet which i need a slipper....they provide slipper but it's been used (can you imagin they didn't change it when the last guest check out).
Restroom is great...very spacious with shower, bath tub, and a separate bowl.
Urgently need a reno in the room fast.

this stay at the hotel istana was only for 2 nights as we were off to borneo but were to return to the hotel istana within 5 or 6 days. they held one suitcase in the hotel while we visited borneo. making our travel easier and lighter while trekking all over borneo. we returned to hotel istana with our suitcase still secure and well looked after. the staff are lovely and helpful. the rooms are clean. the views are pleasant. the mono rail is a step away. shopping, dining, the bus, kl tower is just outside the hotel. excellent location. all round generally a lovely hotel. a great value for money.
Shopping Tip:
Shopping in KL is excellent and very reliable in price. Choosing a well located hotel saves not just on taxi fares, but much time sitting in traffic when a hotel is close and within walking distance to your desired needs. This is an asset to the hotel Istana.

fridge did not work and was going to be replace and nothing happend. we complained about the swimming pool which was green on arrival. the water stayed green for our whole visit and we reminded them about the pool every day. pool should have been closed for swimming and i did not notice any improvement on the water. i got a pool in australia so i know what i am talking about.
