The location of the hotel makes it an ideal choice for a visit to KL. The rooms are well presented and maintained - it is worthy of its five stars.
The lounge bar alongside the reception is also well presented and serviced with delightful staff. Although I only had a short stay of two nights, the breakfast buffet was a great place to start each day and again the staff were friendly and helpful.

The Hotel is close to the monorail and walking distance to the shops and food stalls of bukit bintang

I booked a deluxe room for my mum, sister and me so requested and paid extra for another bed. I arrived at the hotel and no extra bed was supplied i had to chase this up then they brought i a childs put up bed, the room was barely big enough for the extra bed so thought it was stupid to advertise this room for three adults. the hotel room was dated, and not as luxurious as other 4 star hotels i have stayed in, the bathroom was not clean and there was mould in the shower. Considering you can pay less for other hotels, i would not recommend this hotel if your expecting luxury.

Good rooms in great location..
Superb breakfast, better than previous nights supposedly 5 Star meal at Pangkor Laut Resort.

the istana hotel staff really made our stay as comfortable as possible. they're friendly and engaging, and very helpful. i've stayed there for 2 consecutive years and would not hesitate to go back a third time.

we stayed at hotel istana during a 3night trip to kl. the staff were extremely friendly and allowed for us to have an early check-in after our long flight which was greatly appreciated. room was a very decent size and clean. it is walking distance to all major shopping destinations and monorail.
