Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

What a lovely old charm hotel with friendly staff.
The Istana Hotel is very charming with very large rooms a true 5 star property that is right on the CBD. The staff are very friendly and can;t do enough for you.
10
this is our second stay at this 5 star hotel and it is consistantly very good.
the breakfast is one of the best we have experienced in all our travels that caters for all.
the ambience of the hotel is very charming and the rooms are very large and well appointed.
the biggest seeling point fro this very charming 5 star hotel is it's location to the city & it's very affordable price.
Shopping Tip:
KL is a shoppers dream, the Pavilion is one of the many shopping centres in the city that has it all including a sensational food court.

Me Love Istana Hotel!
Location and Superb Rooms!
7.3
This is my second time staying at Istana Hotel. I must say the hotel is still as great as the first time I stayed here.
I am so in love with the room and that is one of the reasons that I came back and stayed at Istana Hotel. The room is not a designer-fancy room but it is enough for me to sleep comfortably. I got a Deluxe room and it is huge that I think I could have 10 of my friends for a mini party and I still have space to sleep!
The room comes together with a super nice bed and pillows. It is so comfortable that I could hardly wake up in the morning!
And there is the bathroom.. It is one big bathroom with a separate shower stall and bathtub.. and one mini room for the toilet. I could sleep in the bathroom too!
Location-wise, Istana Hotel is walking-distance to everywhere. You can easily find food near the hotel. Big shopping malls like Pavilion is just a block away. The monorail train station is just within 5 minutes from the hotel on foot. There are bunch of bars down the alley beside the hotel for you to kill your time.
The only thing that was missing from my room was WiFi. If only they had that, then my stay would be super perfect at this hotel!
Istana Hotel in short is pretty much awesome! I love the location and especially the room! Given its location and room rate from Agoda, it's worth every cent staying here.
Definitely I will come back to Istana Hotel.
Shopping Tip:
Walk up to the main road on the side of the hotel, cross the road, and walk for a block to get to Pavilion shopping mall where you can find all the things that you need.

lovely hotel but not as 5 star as we thought. the rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are nice although could do with an update. pool is lovely but the location not great for kids. very busy area with lots of traffic but not far to walk to shops etc.
we enjoyed our stay there but we were only there for 2 nights and that was enough for a 4 year old and a 2 year old! on the plus side the breakfast was fabulous!

the stay was very nice as well as the view and the service.
Shopping Tip:
In Kuala Lumpur, even in Malls, you must bargain everything you buy !

The hotel is in an excellent location, within a short walk of many of Kuala Lumpur's business, shopping, dining and drinking locations. No car required.
The price of the package we were on was excellent and it was good value for the money.
It has most of the amenities that one would expect from a good hotel, including BBC World TV, an essential in my opinion.

Great location
Nice and comfortable rooms
7.3
The hotel is near to some of the big shopping mall and very convenient for shopping and food. Across the road is where I hop on to the monorail to get to my meetings.
The rooms were great. Otherwise everything is nice and clean.

location very close to everything in klcc
6.3
a very friendly hotel - perhaps a little overfriendly. specifically asking for a quite location as kl was our last port after a long break away, once again we had to ask for a room change in order to get some sleep. the third room was quieter, although iron/ironboard were missing from it (were supposed to be there) and once again a leak in the bathroom (shower and handbasin) - we asked for extra towels this time instead of moving again.
good size pool outdoors,
good gym and range of equipment and roomservice breakfast.
Shopping Tip:
15 minute walk to towers, 5-15 minute walk to most shopping centres. The centres in China town were cheaper than near the hotel. Starbucks are everywhere, especially in the shopping centres, if you are after a frappucino. Gold class cinema was veruy comfy (in the Paradise Centre) and you'll find beautrifully handmade, inexpensive floral hair bands/clips in a stand on one of the higher leveles in that mall.
