At the historic center of Kuala Lumpur, KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Center) boasts the biggest attractions and greatest variety of activities in town. The entire city was founded here where the Gombak and Klang rivers combine, and tourists can admire a great deal of colonial architecture.

The twin spires of the Petronas Towers are the defining attraction in KLCC. Once the tallest building in the world, the Petronas Towers have a soaring suspension bridge where ticketed visitors get a sweeping view of the city. KL Tower isn’t quite as tall, but it’s built on a hill so that visitors can enjoy an even better panorama.

KLCC is tourist-oriented, and there are many other high-profile attractions in easy reach of accommodation in KLCC. One of these is Aquaria KLCC, a recently opened aquarium. KLCC Park with its jogging trails and outdoor amphitheater is also here in the shadow of the Petronas Towers.

Several shopping centers operate around KLCC. Avenue K has the most convenient location, with access to the LRT – light rail – KLCC station. The Great Eastern Mall is the other major contender, and it’s especially popular with shoppers who live in the area. It sits across Jalan Ampang from Gleneagle Intan Medical Centre, a hospital that caters to the international community and medical tourists.

Public transportation in KLCC is outstanding. Ampang Park and KLCC LRT stations are gateways to the neighborhood. The most prestigious hotels in KLCC are in reach of these stations as well as local shopping and entertainment venues.
