Mid Valley / Bangsar
Mid Valley City is an appealing district in Kuala Lumpur known for its shopping and entertainment centers. It’s also home to Istana Negara, or the King’s Palace. This is a novel site for tourists, and the reigning king rotates in every five years from sultanates across Malaysia.
At the heart of Mid Valley City is Megamall, a massive shopping center anchored by major department stores. There are more than 400 shops inside, and avid shoppers can spend an entire weekend here. The Gardens at Mid Valley are connected to the complex, and they operate some of the finest luxury accommodation in Mid Valley City. Completing this world-class shopping district is Bangsar Village.
Another great place to spend time in Mid Valley City is around Tasik Perdana Park. This compact green space houses several worthwhile attractions, and tourists based in a local hotel can easily connect here on foot or by taxi.
All of these attractions are nature-based and designed to shelter visitors from the bustle of city life. Favorite park attractions include Deer Park, Butterfly Garden and Lake Garden. Bird Park is especially restful, and it draws early-morning bird-watchers from hotels in Mid Valley City. The National Planetarium and Islamic Art Museum are also in the vicinity.
One of the most attractive features of Mid Valley City is the KL Railway Station, which is both a colonial treasure and an important transportation junction. It receives KTM ‘Komuter’ trains along with public buses. KTM trains also stop at Seputeh station.
