1. Good location 2. Reasonably priced and sense of comfort

Breakfast area rather cramped, especially at peak times.

The Melia is very conveniently located in downtown Kuala Lumpur, with easy access to Times Square, Low Yat Plaza, Sungei Wang and Bukit Bintang. It is also right next to the Imbi monorail station which will take you directly to KL Sentral Railway Station if you have to catch the KLIA Express to KLIA or the bus to LCCT terminals. The staff at the Melia are also very friendly and helpful. It is reasonably priced, yet provides a level of comfort almost akin to a 5-star hotel.

Travel tip : easy access to Times Square, Low Yat Plaza, Sungei Wang and Bukit Bintang

location in the heart of the city service-minded staff fair price

pool small and unattractive traffic noise

Between the large number of rather dull mid- range hotels in the centre of Kuala Lumpur the Melia is a good option. It offers an excellent location in the very popular Bukit Bintang area with 6 or 8 big shopping malls within 5 min's walking distance and a monorail station right in front of the hotel. The breakfast options cater most for western customers abd are a bit limited, the pool is small, cold and unattractive, but the staff does a stellar job, the rooms are big enough and the price is fair.

Our stay at this hotel was fantastic, the staff were friendly and super efficient. The location could not have been better, right next door to the monorail and directly across the road from Times Square. Sungei wang Plaza was five minutes walk away. The rooms were large and spacious and the service could not be faulted. Excellent choice of food for breakfast. We will definately stay here again.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The hop on/ hop off bus is an excellent way to see the sights. Ticket is valid for 24 hours.

Position - ideal for shopping and monorail. Friendly staff, they couldn't have been more helpful.

From the minute we arrived at the Melia we felt like special guests. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to an i-room which had the added benefits of a quiet dining room for breakfast, complimentary cocktails and snacks, free internet access (wireless), the bed turned down at night and chocolates provided. The view (13th floor) of the Petronas towers from our window at night was quite magical. The room was a good size with adequate facilities (3 telephones!), king size bed, dressing gowns and slippers. Plenty of toiletries in the bathroom and an in room safety deposit box. The breakfast was very good, plenty of choice and as much as you want. We wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The hop-on, hop-off bus is a great way to see the city, the ticket lasts 24 hours so go around the whole thing one day and hop on & off the next!

Good size modern rooms and bathroom, free breakfast, air conditioning, free newspaper in the morning and free water

Breakfast area abit small, had to pay to use internet RM15 for 45 mins

This is the third time i have stayed in this hotel and i think this is the best value 4 star hotel in the area. Its about 10m from the Imbi monorail station (convenient if catching KL express to KL sentral as you can catch monorail straight to hotel) much cheaper and quicker than catching taxi. Time square shopping centre is opposite, Sungei Wang Plaza (IT plaza) is behind and BB plaza and Lot 10 are about 5 mins walk away. Plenty of food options on the street as well as in the shopping centres, 7/11 next door (other side of driveway - right hand side when you walk out). We booked a triple room (2 single beds + 1 roll out) and the room fitted 3 adults + 3 large suitcases with ease. Our room on the 6th floor had a little view of the Petronas Twin Towers but if you get upper floor the view would be better. Staff were friendly and helpful and every staff that we spoke to could understand english.

Travel tip : Don't take the hotel taxi/limo service you can get a normal taxi for 1/3 of the price (make sure you agree on a price before getting into cab)

We really enjoy staying at the Melia Hotel as it is close to everything. The hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly. We always enjoy the great breakfast and the convenience of staying across from Times Square. The hotel is a great stepping stone for heading off to other places on our travels.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Genting Casino is worth a trip up to. It is in the Highlands. Go on the Sky lift it is really spectacular.

Good location near monorail

Not the greatest service, initially given possibly the worst room in the place.

But, I they did "upgrade" me after I complained to the manager on duty. The upgraded room was good; but the decor and the furniture was VERY old and needs a "face lift"!

Easy access to plublic transport

Abit old

I stayed in Melis hotel this Oct 2009. The hotel is located near by Monorial station. However, any other way of public transport is less. The hotel staffs are nice and friendly. Bell staffs are great with the best suggestion for the best place to find the local food and most actractive places. The receptions are great and helpful. The view of room is abit narrow sue to Time square in fromt of its.

Location is great. Directly opp is the monorail station. Less then 5 mins walk. Free flow of wines and champange for VIPs

Sound proof sucks... Its was a Sunday morning, we were awaken by the basketball contest held at be Berjaya time square at 8am! Just imagine we were staying at 14th floor and we can hear the techno music that clearly! Can't the management go over to tell them to lower their freaking loud techno music? Its disturbing all our beauty sleep! The morning breakfast buffet was a real disappointment, VIP treatment yet with lousy food. You can see all those who were awaken by the loud techno got another disappoint by their hotel food standard.

It’s my 2nd time staying over at this hotel. Book the I-Room, but was upgrade to 1 of the suites. Plus point for their service. Nothing to shout about for the suite given to us, as we were expecting something much more grand. As it was also my 2nd time driving up to KL, Parking at this hotel is consider quite safe. Just beware of the narrow carpark turns as it can be quite a challenge.

Restaurant Tip : Go to Street "Jalan Alor" if u want to try some nice local hawker food with reasonable price.

good location, clean spacious room

none of note.

the melia hotel is a reasonable hotel for its convenient location and spacious room. it's near to the major shopping centres such as berjaya times square, sungei wang plaza, lot 10, etc. make sure you make your booking on the internet though, as the walk-in rate is more expensive. overall, it was value for money staying at the melia hotel.
