Good location, nice hotel!

Melia is a very nice hotel. It was good to be back. Spacious rooms and nice beds. Breakfast had a lot to offer. Asian style and western style. Skytrain is in front of the hotel. One downside: no free wifi. Come on Melia, it is 2012! Every respectable hotel offers free Wifi nowadays. Everything else was great.

a hotel to consider in Bukit Bintang area

this is the 2nd time i stayed in this hotel. the 1st visit was years back (work related). the room is clean and location is superb, especially for tourists, as many shopping complexes are just within 2-15 minutes walk from the hotel. the lrt station is just in front of the hotel. but, just that my request for high floor, double bed, room facing times square all turn out to be low floor, room facing back building and twins bed :(

This hotel is in a great location, it can be reached with ease on the green monorail line at Imbi station. The station literally exits on the Melia front door step. The hotel is very near the shops and hustle and bustle. Despite its location the Melia still remains quiet and reserved inside (not to stuffy though).
The hotel is generally very clean and friendly. The breakfasts there were the best out of any of the hotels I have stayed at in Malaysia; they offer a reasonable effort on western food plus lots of tasty Asian cuisines.
I would recommend this hotel to stay in in KL as it is very close to transport links that can take you to most places in KL. I would say, you can get taxis for very cheap in KL. Make sure you get them to stick it on the meter rather negotiating on price. We got a taxi from the Melia to the Chinese market which worked out the same price as the monorail!

The hotel is very conveniently located opposite Times Square. Next to it is Lot 10, and behind it is Low Yat. Great for shopping, electronics, etc. Imbi Monorail station is right outside. No free WiFi in Melia rooms, but there are lots of places nearby (e.g. Starbucks just next door) with free WiFi. Rooms are clean and amenities OK. Main grouse is that frontline personnel don't seem very friendly. Doormen treated us like we were invisible and reception counter staff didn't smile. Waiter at Piano Bar rattled off drink options in nearly unintelligible English, at machine-gun speed, and seemed to serve us almost grudgingly (with hardly any other guests around!) Saving grace is that service recovery was generally good -- we had several problems with our room, and they were settled very promptly. So, hey, ask your frontline staff to smile more, and make your guests feel more like guests and not like burdens, eh?

check in & check out was not at all good. took 45 minutes for a bell boy.door men and bell boys not at all courteous. front office too not satisfactory. restaurant and service quality and staff excellent.
Shopping Tip:
good place if your purpose is shopping or night life. Easy access for any activity. Plenty of transport modes.

I really like this hotel which located just in front of the Berjaya Time Square shopping mall, I can shop any time and easily access to anywhere cause just two minutes walk to the metro/LRT station. Everything is excellent except a little bit disappointed is no free WIFI in the hotel room. Value for money that I strongly recommended.

My first time stayed at this hotel, it was great since the location is just few steps away from malls around bukit bintang area. The room is big and very comfortable. worth the money! Will definitely stay here for the next trip!
