Very welcoming, staff friendly and helpful, room absolutely fantastic with all essentials

From arrival we were treated like royalty. The hotel is perfectly situated in Bukit Bintang which is a shopping and nightlife paradise. The Petronas Towers are just down the road and can be seen from the hotel. There are plenty of places to eat in the vacinity as well as the hotel itself. We would recommend this hotel to everyone and would definately stay again. We would now make a concious effort to choose hotels of the same chain when travelling.

Orchid Club, free internet, the room, great service

Tour desk needs improvement

The location of the Park Royal is great, so close to the major shopping malls, food street and monorail that takes you to the other major sights. Our room was large with a great bathroom that reminded me of the Versace Plazzo in the Gold Coast. The shower was strong and had additional nozzels that squirted water at different heights. We upgraded to the Orchid club that was not much more to the cost but gave additional benefits such as free breakfast, internet and access to the lounge with refreshments during the day and free cocktails & canapes & entertainment at night. The staff were very helpful and made you feel special. We made use of the big swimming pool on the 6th floor with views to the KL tower. The tour desk was not so helpful and they had very limited brochures so you do need to go to the Tourist information centre for help with your tours. Overall the hotel surpassed what I had expected and we would return there every time.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Use the monorail to get to other attractions. The twin towers are only a couple of stops away.

Cheap compare to other 5 star hotel.

bad internet connection

the cheapest 5 star hotel in bukit bintang. room is clean and look modern. Location is good close to Sungai wang plaza. It's easy to find good food near the hotel. the internet connection is the worst compare to other 5 star hotel I ever stay. Not reccomend for business traveler who need good internet connection.

Internet connection was a nightmare. That explains on the super cheap charges. RM10 for 24hours.

Location, luxurious and luscious breakfast!

None, except their business centre server was down when we wanted to use it, just unfortunate for us I guess...

Wow, what a hotel! From the moment we stepped in to the day we checked out - brilliant! Luxurious furnishings, a beautiful cooling pool and a fantistic breakfast spread. So close to all of the action too, but far enough away so that you don't hear all of the traffic. The band in the bar were great too!

Restaurant Tip : Go to the Starhill Gallery [Feast Floor] for a huge array of quality restaurant choices. We tried Enak KL which focuses on Traditional Malay food with a pretty modern twist, and was very nice. But walking around that area, we wished we'd stayed a few more days so that we could sample a few more of those restaurants - some of them looked spectacular, especially the Luk Yu Tea House.

Relaxing and great food. Close to monorail.

No flat screen

Perfect for my 65-70yr old parents, who didn't really feel like leaving the hotel. They ate at the hotel and sat in the lobby to watch comings and goings and read their books. They though breakfast fabulous. Emerged from their 2 night stay well rested and feeling great, plus a few new shopping items from up the road.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Taxis are cheap, better than saving a few dollars to get to places like China Town or Sentral Station.

Good location in Kuala Lumpur City Centre. friendly and efficient staff.

Charges for internet are extortionate! I don't see why they don't offer free in-room internet like other hotels

The hotel is ideally located in the city a few metres from Bukit Bintang. Its an ideal place to stay if you are looking for a good quality hotel for a reasonable price that is close to the shopping and nightlife of KL. Staff are friendly and helpful and the car parking was free. The bar and lounge in the reception area is pleasant place to relax with a drink and has a friendly live band.

Restaurant Tip : My advice is NEVER to eat in a hotel restaurant in Kuala Lumpur (apart from breakfast if it is included). There is such a huge variety of great local food from street hawkers to top restaurants offering a wide range of choices and food types.

Decent breakfast, clean hotel, near to shopping malls

Very small room, can hear traffic at night

Lots of restaurants at the lower ground of the hotel. Only 5-15 mins walk to sungai wong, time square and pavilion shopping mall. The only thing that disappointed our stay was the size of our room. It is not even a standard room. It was like a studio. When we asked if they had made a mistake, they said this was what agoda booked for us (superior queen). For the same price we could have gotten a much bigger room at elsewhere. Could hear the traffic at night as our room is facing a street junction. Other than these we had a pleasant stay.

Travel tip : Book superior king or bigger room as superior queen is like a studio room. Try to ask for a room that is not facing the sreet as it can b noisy at night. Do not try the peking duck at the lower ground restaurant as it is d worst peking duck I ever had.

Location

Rooms

The Park rates itself as a 5 Star hotel. Four would be a better rating. The service is excellent(five star) The food is excellent(five star) The amenities are excellent. The location is superb. This is not our first time at the Park. Our last stay was 6 years ago,the only downside then were the condition of the rooms, getting a bit shabby, air con which could not be adjusted, mini bar fridge that was not cold enough, furniture that had pieces broken. Nothing has changed, rooms are still in the same condition. So over the years we have stayed at 3 to 4 star hotels in K.L which are better value. We had coffee stains on benches which never got cleaned over 6 days. This is a good hotel, but it is not 5 Star.

Shopping Tip : Everything is at your doorstep.

location, nice room, great housekeeping

water clog at bathtub

location of the hotel is strategic. it's less than 5 mins walk to monorail and it is close to shopping malls such as Sungai Wang, Lot 10, Times Square, Pavilion etc. The room is with a huge bed with a working table suitable for business traveler. There is wireless internet which is great. Housekeeping does a great job in cleaning and tidying the room daily. The water clogged at the bath tub while showering.

Excellent customer service, prime location.Lots of places to go around.Hotel staff very helpful and will direct you to the places of interest to you.

the room was tidy but not clean.Plenty of marks on the carpet. The carpet was quite worn.Tv's reception was poor quality.Room service food was quite expensive.

The hotel reception was quite impressive and thought the rooms will be the same. However, the room was generally tidy and clean. But lots of marks on the carpet and it was quite worn.EVen the duvet cover had some marks on it.It was hard to establish if the marks were left behind even after washing.the bathroom was generally clean but the grout looked very dirty. The room looks better in the pictures. However, the location of hotel is prime and lots of sopping malls around.I used the hotel shuttle to go to Petronas tower, by the way, its closed on mondays.the staff was very helpful and curteous. No complaint about that. But i think its not what a 5 star hotel should look like.the reception looks five star but the rooms will be max a 3 star.DO not take taxi from outside the hotel entrance as they charge minimum 80 RMs to go to airport.I travlled for only 25RM with a little efforts.I got the KLIA- SEntral deluxe airconditioned bus till Sentral for only 10Rm from airport and got down at Sentral. From there the ordinary taxi is only like 15 RM or less. over all, i think u only get what u pay for.DO not order room service meals. They are 4 times more expensive.Lots of nice cafes nearby where you'll get a meal for 11RM onwards.Hotel food costs atleast 40RM.the breakfast was nice at Chatz but was good to have been inculded in my fare.

Hotel Feature Tip : do not buy food from the hotel and do not get taxi from outside the hotel.

Polite, friendly and helpful staff, nice location, properly maintained pool facilities.

The car park needs attention, my room smelt a bit musty, older TV sets should be replaced with LCD or plasma TV sets, the layout of the room is a little weird i.e. the TV is to the right of the bed.

If you're looking for a hotel that's within reach of the bustling Bukit Bintang area, then the Parkroyal is a great choice. Prices are reasonable and the service is 5-star. Although this slightly older hotel may not boast all the amenities of the newer hotels in the heart of KL, there is a certain charm and warmth here that is sometimes absent in those said hotels. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any of my foreign guests, or even to my local friends who would like a comfortable place to stay after a crazy night out in KL.

Nightlife Tip : Bukit Bintang is just a short walk i.e. 10 minutes up the road. Around the corner is Pavilion and Starhill. Slightly further away is Changkat Bukit Bintang, where great food and night clubs are to be found. Avoid taking cabs as they will most likely overcharge you for such a short distance.
