Location, room comfort

None

The hotel's location on Jalan Sultan Ismail is excellent, with an accomodation rate that is significantly less than the other top hotels in the vicinity, namely, Westin, JW Marriot and Grand Millenium. Granted that these three hotels are perhaps a rung above the Parkroyal, but the Parkroyal is not too far beihind in terms of room comfort and amenities. So for those who want a hotel that is good value for money, the Parkroyal should be strongly considered. In addition, there is a monorail station nearby - pretty useful mode of transporation during peak hours given the state of the KL traffic during those times.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Just next door is the Lot 10 Shopping Centre. For theatre enthusiasts, do check out the Actors Studio at the rooftop of Lot 10. Shopping-wise, for high-end products, check out the Starhill and the Pavilion along Jalan Bukit Bintang - just 5 minutes walk away. Food-wise, selection is aplenty: from cheap food court-style food at Sungei Wang Plaza across the road to among the best restaurants in KL in Starhill and Westin

This is the first hotel I stayed 25 years ago, then under the different management. Now, it is all new and modern facilities. I brought my wife this time and we were impressed with the staff hospitality and friendliness. After I moved to my friend's house, I remembered I forgot to take my two shirts. I called the hotel the next day, and they sure kept them for me, nicely ironed and folded.

Nothing to speak of.

Shopping Tip : KL is an excellent shopping city with many mega malls, and of course an eating paradise for local food gourmets.

Location in Bukit Bintang is a plus. Excellent, responsive service. Great attitude by everyone. Good breakfast buffet. Orchid Club perks were nice.

signs of aging apparent

Overall enjoyed our stay very much. Lots to do in the area, so much so that our "leisurely" stay turned out to be quite action-packed. They were out of the Orchid Club rooms so I got "upgraded" to a suite, which was a big room but the furniture was definitely older and it showed. Mostly used the shower which was nice, but one time I decided to run a bath, the water came out tinted brown even after running for about a minute. Decided to take a shower instead. Pool was closed for cleaning during two days of stay and even when reopened, the pool was kind of old. The chaise lounges were old and I carefully covered the entire lounge chair with towels before plopping down. Overall, I didn't really mind the signs of aging given the overall service and everything, but thought you might want to know.

Great service in Orchid Club. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room cleanliness and appointments were great. Food very good

views from room not the best (billboard on one occasion, and carpark on another). Spa prices could have been a bit cheaper. On our second return visit pool was closed. Fresh milk in rooms would be good.

We had a great experience staying at the Parkroyal KL. Orchid Club benefits were excellent, staff and the OC manager (Mike) were super helpful and friendly. Service was fantastic. The Spa was magic - would have used it more if prices were a bit cheaper. Buffet breakfast and cocktails in the Orchid Club was good - breakfast at Chat's was fantastic.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Get to know and use the monorail - cheap, fast and efficient. Although taxis are cheap, the traffic makes the trip tedious and long.

Modern attractive room layout and comfy bed. Good facilities and reception.

The room I had faced the main road and had poor window insulation- it sounded like the Malaysian F1 was being held outside despite being on the 10th floor.

Despite good facilities, nice modern looking room and the feel of a real 4* hotel, I would not stay here again simply down to the fact that one side of the hotel faces the large road that rings this area of the city. It was extremely noisy and, although the hotel now feels very modern, the actual building materials aren't with the windows having outdated and worn double glazing. Despite ear plugs, I got very little sleep. Shame really, as it is on the edge of one of the best locations for seeing the city. For those that are deeper sleepers, this may be a good value hotel!

Easy access to shopping complex, good security, cozy room (even though it is small)

limited parking space during day time

was very dissappointed with the front liners - was not greeted upon checking-in, in fact no one assisted me for 10minutes, there were 3 guys at the desk busy sorting i dont know what, but please entertain your guest first people! room was not ready at 1.30p.m but i was given the room no only.but that's fine to me. however i was not given the key card for my room. so i wanted to go out of teh building and get my parking ticket validated. the CSR officer, was rude. She asked for my room key and obvisiously i didnt have it with me, and she replied" then how am i supposed to know your room no" it is my problem that your college didnt not give me the key? Hope Mr Joseph, the Manager on duty that day, take note on this matter please.

Best features; Central KL Location; Bukit Bintang Great breakfast spread; all tastes catered Close to Monorail, Shops, Amenities, Eateries Good in house services, Dry Cleaning, Catering etc On site Spa, Gym, large Pool, Lounge / Bar (live music) Good neighbours (Marriott, Westin etc...) without the hefty price tag of these other Hotels Front desk service is good and quick Concierge helpful

Could do with; Upgrades to rooms (although not dated) Steam clean carpets in room (although not dirty)

Recommended: ideal for "value based" travellers; whether for Business, Families or Couples I'm a business traveller and have stayed here approx 4-5 times in the last 2-3 years.....

Nightlife Tip : QBar at the Westin Hotel (5min walk) is a great night out (Fri/Sat/Sun)...live salsa band / music (although drinks are a little on the pricey side).

-location -friendly staff -good breakfast

- orchid club rooms only on floors 4-6

We arrived at the parkroyal hotel to a friendly reception. we stayed in a king royal orchid room for 3 nights. check- in was on the 6th floor which was a bit annoying and unfortunately the club rooms are only on floors 4-6, wish it was up higher. however the hotel was fantastic, staff were great and service was perfect. breakfasts were lovely, a lot of chinese food though. location is very handy, right near monorail station and main shopping strip. beware of taxi drivers at the hotel though, we nearly got ripped off on the way to the airport, demand they use taxi meter. i'd stay at this hotel anyday!

I enjoyed my first ever stay at the ParkRoyal in Kuala Lumpur. Upon my arrival I was greeted like a long standing customer by the duty manager Mr Joe Manuel Paulose. The hotel is very well located close to the main tourist area in Bukit Bintang and all the great outdoor restaurants. I will certainly stay at the Prkroyal whenever I am Kuala Lumpur.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Bukit Bintang outdoor restaurants
