Lovely hotel with good location

We stayed in one bedroom serviced apartment for anniversary celebration, the hotel service team surprised us with a lovely cake and wishing card on the dining table before we checked in our room. The apartment is spacious and clean. Our stay was very comfortable and happy. I love the kitchen equipped with oven and other basic appliances as well as utensils. However, some utensils are old and no washing soap is provided. The breakfast was okay but can be improved as a 5 stars hotel. the location of this hotel is very convenient as Pavilion shopping mall is just across the road but quite traffic jam if coming from pj afternoon time. there is a swimming pool but quite small. Will recommend and come back to this hotel again.

Rude Reception Employee

Receptionist was very rude.
Refused to check us in because my card only had the last 4 numbers in the front instead of the whole 12-digit format therefore they could not process it in their hotel computer system yet the bank swipping machine had accepted our transaction.
She didn't take 2 minutes after the machine accepted and canceled our transaction immidiately because of the numbers as if we were some kind of scammers.
I tried explaining that card formats vary from country to country. She tried calling maybank to obtain the 12 digit (how stupid!) but obviously for security reasons they could not disclose them to a hotel employee! She even told us to call our banks back home!
How did she not realize that we were foreigners and that countries have a time difference I will never know.
Those numbers get highly encrypted for security reasons (hence only the 4 last digits show in receipts). I know because I work in I.T business.
After much arguing and speaking to her manager, she checked us in.
Stay was okay. Rooms were smaller than expected. Staff is very lethargic and not proactive at all.
Food was delicious!
Good location but for the price range of this hotel, you could get better hotels.

Excellent hotel in good central location
Chose room with view of Petronas towers and view was superb (25th floor)

Good breakfast with wide range of hot and cold foods. Pool convenient and well maintained. Hotel close to the modern Pavillion shopping mall which has extensive range of shops and restaurants. Nearby is covered and airconditioned walkway to Petronas Towers and the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, just 10 minutes walk away.
Restaurant Tip:
Hakka restaurant next door serves excellent Chinese food

2nd time around to this hotel.a superb hotel with excellent facilities.did not pursue with certain items as had some issues with usase of certain facilities,during my last stay here.they still have not got the indian delicasy(upama) right,it's so soggy??buffet was ok but not something to rave about.personally i think royal chulan do better.i've also have some reservations about some staff just engrosed in thier own space rather than greeting new arrivals to the hotel.it appears all the simple touch seems to disappear with time.
Travel tip:
a great hotel with excellent facilities.room was superb.location is idealto the shopping complexes.
