The hotel is hidden in a tranquil hill, so is suitable for tired travellers. Free cocktail is offered from 6:00 to 7:00pm in the lobby bar. The room is not luxurious but the bed is very comfortable. It is exactly what I needed for a transit in Kuala Lumpur.
A little far from everything so must take taxi to get out. However, the hotel offers shuttle to the shopping mall in Putrajaya as well as to Centre of Kuala Lumpur.
This is a good place for my transit back home as I don't want to travel all the way to the Centre of Kuala Lumpur for one night stay. The airport transit or taxi can bring you to Putrajaya within 30 minutes so the time was saved. The hotel is very comfortable and it was a pity that we did not have time to enjoy the pool and 24 hours gym. The shuttle can bring guests to the Amandala shopping centre. I got what I needed for a relaxing stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Putrajaya is actually where the prime minister's office is, and surrounding area is very nice. Heard that there is boat service available on the lake and will be very nice.

Nice location and good views of the PMO in PJ
Difficult to access; difficult to get taxi's
Food is not up to expectations for this class of hotel- for example, had Italian food and I thougt that I make beetr at home - the bruschetta tasted like watery garlic muush
This hotel has a nice first impression at the front facade as one approaches the hotel. The postion of the check-in counter is quite personal but may present an objectionable scenario if several customers are being checked-in a the same time - for example, the pathway might become too crowded and there are not enough chairs to sit down while being attended to. Overall, the hotel has an interesting approach to guest comfort and thier are many vistas to the surrounding areas from multiple points in the hotel - bedroom views, hallway views, restarant views, pool views. The pool bar is quite nice and staff are friendly and provide good comraderie. The pool itself is a masterful design. My wife and I enjoyed our stay an would choose this location again upon returning to Putrajaya.
Restaurant Tip : The restaurant at the nearby Botany Gardens is quite nice and should be made part of your dining plans while visit at Shangri-la Putrajaya.

Great pool. Very good location for business in Putrajaya. Free fast internet.
Food from the breakfast buffet was ordinary but ok, not really 5-star, but probably 4-star
I enjoyed my time here. The room was comforable and clean with great linen. I was really glad to stay here instead of downtown KL for my three night businees trip in Putrajaya - the trip was busy and tiring and the peak hour commute to/from KL on top of the work and jet lag would have been awful. I took the trip into town one night after work and the traffic and stop-start, dodgy suspension driving made me wish I'd stayed at the hotel - I caught the train back, which was much better. A taxe from the hotel to the main Gov buildings in Putrajaya took an easy 10-15 minutes.
Service at the hotel was ok. I got the feeling they were struggling to make ends meet a bit and were cutting the odd corner - the scheduled shuttle bus service was not available a couple of times when I was the only customer. They were good at getting me a taxi in the mornings though.
All in all a good place to stay, unless you want really polished 5-star facilities and service, but then you'd expect to be be paying a lot more for that.
Travel tip : Pool is quite nice and a great way to unwind after a business day.

It is sad to see such a luxury property being ruined by poor management. The reception didn't even greet us when we presented ourselves at check-in. Everyone working at the hotel seemed to be out of place and awkward at their job, as if they were not meant to be there at all, including the hotel manager, who is only too eager to avoid everyone's eye. I would advise everyone to avoid this hotel unless you want to experience the awkwardness yourselves. I would be happy to talk and explain to anyone, including the hotel manager, or the owner, if they have doubt and question in my message.

May be overlooking putrajaya
Pending a longer time taxi
Because her English is not very good, but fortunately there will be Chinese-speaking hotel service staff, she did not field but the back-office staff, but she was still very enthusiastic to help us to introduce the nearby attractions, so that we can easily reach to go Fang ~
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Pink Mosque from very close, but is a mountain hotel should be down to take the minibus or taxi to get to
