Comfortable hotel in a central location

We stayed here as tourists for 2 nights in June 2013. It was a decent hotel and, for the price, I can't complain too much. We had friends stay at a more expensive hotel which was in a better location closer to the shopping malls, but much older than the Shangri-La and not as comfortable.
The hotel is quite conveniently located. It's about a 5 min walk from KLCC and about 10 mins walk to the main shopping district where a few shopping malls like Pavillion, Lot 10 and Farenheit 88 are located. Jalan Alor is also near Pavillion which is a great location to get local Malaysian and Chinese dishes including chilli or pepper crab and hawker food.
The service was good, but not quite up to the usual high standard of other Shangri-La Hotels. There were a couple of examples where we were a little disappointed with the service, e.g. when we first arrived, the person at the door just stood there and watched while we struggled to get our luggage out of the taxi. Also, there was no organisation while queuing for taxis so people were everywhere and the person supposedly managing things almost gave our taxi away to someone else.
Overall though, I would recommend this hotel as it's reasonably priced for a 5 star hotel in the central KL district.

We were satisfied by the stay, it was luxurious. The room was neatly and well arranged with all requirements. The striking point the location of the hotel is in close vicinity of all known branded shops and some big malls for shopping purpose. The view of the twin towers from the hotel is another striking point. All and all We rate 10 out of 10.
