The position of the hotel is in the center of the china town night markets. I stayed in a delux room (Twin). The bathroom could do with some improvement but the room was comfortable. Breakfast was Ok with enough variety to statisfy english guests. It is difficult to get to you room if you have luggage as there is no porter service and no one takes you to your room. I would stay at the hotel again as the position is good.
Shopping Tip : If you go out of the hotel from the back entrance (dining area) you are right in the centre of the night markets. Just up the road is the central market-easy walking distance.

Realistically priced, Friendly staff, Fantastic location, Clean and safe.
No porter to help take your luggage down on departure.
Friendly staff to greet you and we were given our requested room promptley. Porter was informative and gentlemanly. Room was adequate for our stopover. We found it to be clean and affordable.Mostly I felt personally safe in the surroundings. Staff haggled over best price on taxi's for us and gave great info on how to get about and locations of interest. Breaky was plentiful but basic.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : We went to K.L Tower and it's revolving restaurant that have specials on Sunday lunch.
Chinatown shopping is a bit same old, same old. Need to really barter off original price.

The position of the this hotel is brilliant if you like market shopping, like me, as you walk out of the restaurant and it is right there. The food is gorgeous. Aug 7-10th 2009 was humid but nice, rained twice but only for short time.
Getting to your room is a maze - you need to catch 2 lifts, also need your security card to access way in and out. Bathrooms were tiny, but we didn't mind as we're hardly in them.
The longer we stayed at the Swiss Inn the better we liked it, we got used to the lifts situation, our breakfasts were delicious and a good selection. The markets were great but had to bargain hard and sometimes didn't match up with outside shop prices. Be sure to use the local bus as so cheap to get around.
Shopping Tip : Shop outside the market area to get an idea of the pricing, as quite often was cheaper than the night markets, unless you bargained hard. Use the local buses only 1 or 2 ringgit (33c/70 cents) for quite a distance.

in the heart of chinatown, pertaling street, lots of shopping and eateries, convenient to train stations.
bed bugs, me & friend was bitten bad! took a long time to change our room, no fresh change of towels in the new room, did not ease our misery nor did they do enough to appease us. disappointed.

housekeeping
bathroom amenities
location is good, but the staff attentiveness is very poor. In the first night around 10pm I called for housekeeping to get extra pillos, they said, no housekeeping staff on duty at night. The second night I called again earlier around 7pm, the first girl picked up and said "ok, we will deliver to your room for the 1 extra pillow" but after 30min, nobody came, so I called again, and this guy picked up and said "u only entitled 1 pillow which is in the wardrobe and not allow for another pillow" I'm so disapointment and not feel want to get the extra pillow anymore!!!!

close proximity to chinatown
room dirty, toilet not working, hair dryer broken
Porters took luggage to the room but were not to be seen on checkout.
The hotel was conveniently located for china town the rooms were VERY small, and rooms in the old part were dirty and facilities faulty, toilet overflowed, would not flush, bathroom needed good clean, overall the rooms needed a facelift, breakfast was basic but filling, the staff were very polite and tried very hard to please, would I go there again...NO

Best feature of this hotel is the location - the China Town Huge Markets are right at the back, which is the entry to the restaurant. We had breakfast every morning and was good selection and delicious.
Unfortunately the bathroom was so tiny, we almost couldn't believe our eyes. Getting from one floor to another is a bit of a maze as you need to change lifts.
For price wise (very cheap) I would go back to the Swiss Inn. The rooms were OK, aircondtioned with TV, fridge & hairdryer. Very Central Chincatown and easy access to loads of shopping and on local bus route, very close to Central Market, Times Square and many other shopping centres.
Shopping Tip : Best feature of this hotel is the location, being in the middle of the Chinatown Night markets(and daytime on the weekends) and the food most delicious.

Best feature is the fact that it is located right at the edge of the Chinatown famous night markets - very handy. Food was delicious.
Shifting from one lift to another was rather annoying, but we got used to it on our return from Penang.
The longer we stayed at the Swiss Inn the happier we became as we got used to the 'lift' situation. Breakfast every morning was most delicious and a good enough selection. The foot massage in the side office was enjoyed! Bathroom was tiny, but room overall was acceptable.
Restaurant Tip : Food at the Hotel was great for breakfast. Other times we dined right next door at the Chinatown infamous night markets - wow what a delicious spread!! Much shopping all around, some times cheaper at shops along the street than the markets though, must bargain hard at the markets.

Great location in China town's heart
but a very tired and dark hotel. makes one despise concrete.
More and more cities are figuring out tall slabs of enclosed concrete buildings are not fun and I think hotels and other buildings like this need to have a look at alternative architecture during the next remodeling session.
