A typical four star hotel

the weather was very humid in kl, unfortunately there was no saving grace because the aircon in the room failed miserably. i can understand if the aircon was blowing but the room is still warm, no, the fan was blowing like it was at minimum, when it was switched to maximum and there was no cold air at all. the room serviceman checked the system and said something was full of water and they had to empty it. whatever he did in that 15 - 20mins didn't help. i sat thru the day and slept thru the night perspiring.

I stayed in the Royale Bintang Hotel in Kuala Lumpur and wished it was a more pleasant stay. The rooms were a little worn and old. It doesn't seem like it was worth a night to stay there. However,the location is good. In the heart of the Bukit Bintang shopping district and across the street from the Jalan Alor food hawker street. The hotel looks like a nice 3 star hotel from the outside. However,when you enter the rooms,it doesn't seem so nice. The carpet and furniture are old and worn. the air conditioner doesn't keep the room cool as it should. For the location,I guess it is a fair price but will try another hotel in the area next time.
Restaurant Tip:
Try the Jalan Alor food hawker street right across the street from the Royale Bintang Hotel. Many restaurants with outdoor seating that serves good Thai and Chinese foods. For the culinary experience,it is worth checking out. My favorites are the grilled stingray,prawns fried in barley,and many more numerous exotic dishes such as frog and deer meat. For the quality of the food that you get. It is a downright bargain. Please be advised that the best time to go is in the evening when most of the restaurants open until late night.

bukit bintang is the location for people who wants to enjoy and wants to feel the atmosphere of asian night life style and royale bintang hotel is in this area. when you jumped out from the hotel lobby then you just in the middle of bukit bintang. best place to find foods, nice massage, cafes, shops, mall with many cheap goods. you have everything in here. this hotel also give you friendly service. nice room, clean environment.

on the first day of our arrival, the room is not ready until 3.30pm.
the safe box is not working and the telephone line is not in order.
it is repair the next day but am not really satisfactory with the service.
it is located at an ideally location with all the major shopping centre nearby. great location for shopping and nearby eating location.
Shopping Tip:
Great location for shopping. Do bring your credit cards for shopping in major shopping mail and cash for eating at the outdoor area.

Frontline services needs improvement

by virtue of it’s location, royale bintang is already a preferred choice for most tourists but if counter staff can be
better trained to manage the expectations of hotel guests and improve front-line services, i have no doubt this hotel
has the potential to develop further to become one of the more popular hotels in kuala lumpur.

Location was good, near to shopping ,alot of massage shop.
There's Wireless in room. The bed was awesome very nice to slp, the room was spacious. Swimming pool was good. everything nice ! but there's no toothbrush in the room! haha!

lovely hotel in the right location for everything
has everything within a short walk, shops, food and amusement area for the kids behind even tranport

although some years old everything works. breakfast caters more to middle east and asian type, not the westerner but has enough for everyone, there are food places everywhere incl KFC at the next corner, from the front of the hotel go straight ahead across 2 streets and enjoy some of the outdoor restaurants after dark along the full street it is a lot cheaper and the food is very nice. or in any of the malls left from the front of the hotel keep an eye out on the right as you walk along find a inset dinning area where there is the best steak house ever. i had some drinks in the hotel bar and found them to be at least 3 to 5 times dearer then they are normally , s ahme cause this is the right hotel in the right location at the right price for any type of traveler , have stayed here 3 times previously good value for money. tell the dorrman you only want a standard metered taxi, the blue coloured taxis are a little more expensive, if taxi driver refuses to use the meter just get out and get the next one do not try and batter a price you will be worse off.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
being australian i found an outback steakhouse less then 300 meters from the hotel the best steak ever for asia that i have found from more then 8 trips, shopping, there is more shops and malls then you can ever get thru and the china markets for bartering is also just down the road a good 5 to 10 mintue walk but is nice and also past more shopping malls and the monorail station, take the monrail to the sentral and then the rail to Batu Caves which is the last station Batu Caves and enjoy the 364 steps to the top where an indian temple is situated, becareful of the monkeys they chase you for plastic bags food and water bottles they are very close free and remember wild still/ behind the hotel is another shopping mall (benjaya times square hotel and mall )which has an amusement area on the top floors rides that are not for the faint hearted like a roller coaster etc all up on the 6th to 8th floor, the hotel concierge has discount vouchers to cheapen your experince,
