Breakfast room vast and crowded and noisy The Traders Hotel (Shangri La)in KL is a large well situated city central hotel....The room I had was excellent with very good facilities with a superb view of the Petronas Towers which was worth staying there for....Reception was well organised in checking in and out. They were helpful with any additional queries and had lots of staff available to answer them. The Breakfast room was vast, noisy and overcrowded in the morning peak. I wasn't overly impressed with the buffet and was rather glad to get away from the noise and clamour.The Health and spa centre was excellent well worth visiting with very pleasant staff.. The hotel shuttle to/from Petronas towers was very welcome indeed and is useful to take the strain from walking round the park to the Towers.
Worth visiting the Bar/club at the swimming pool area near top floor.

great fast room service, very polite people, lovely hotel and beautiful suite and food. Provided us with a very cheap upgrade. No faults about this hotel at all Traders hotel is by far one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The service from fast and friendly, the food for breakfast and coctails was tasty and the variety was huge. The view from the Trader Suite is amazing. Petronus towers right within your view.
Shopping Tip : Go to China Town night market to find some good bargins and its great to haggle them right down 70%.

Good value for what you get
A bit far away from the main district.
The hotel only have their own hotel taxis which cost a bit more than the normal taxis available, however, they were willing to call us a lower cost taxi to take us to the airport.
The drinks at the Skybar were quite pricey and the taste wasn't that great. The staff were helpful and friendly and gave us a warm welcome when we arrived at the hotel. The atmosphere of the hotel was modern and contemporary. The rooms were very new and comes with conversion electric sockets so there's no need to bring your own. The bathroom was nice and would recommend to take a bath after a day out around KL. The city view was the best as we had the perfect view of the Petronas Twin Towers. Would definitely come back to stay and recommend to others.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : You can basically walk to the Petronas Twin Towers through the park in front of the hotel and theres a huge shopping mall there with all the high brand names and department stores there.

Modern design, excellent check in service, innovative Asia buffet breakfast. Location, Location, Location - adjacent to KLCC. Few cons - but it was a brief stay. I chose Trader's in KL because I have been pleased with Trader's in other locations. I was on the Trader's Club Floor and while the Club Lounge is a bit impersonal service was excellent. A particularly good international breakfast buffet with a 'touch of class". An asset is that it is right next to (and conntected to) KL's Convention Center.
Restaurant Tip : Bombay Palace - although it is part of a chain - this venue served up an excellent Indian feast.

- The view from the rooms was great (park view)
- Close to shopping areas, KLCC and Pavilion shopping mall
- Nice Swimming pool and Gym
- Traders had great service
Had a very comfortable stay at the Traders Hotel. Stayed at the club floor, which has access to the traders club. Traders Club was very nice and most of the day had free snacks and drinks. The Hotel in conveniently located, i.e. close to shopping areas and public transport. There is a free complementary “stretch golf cart” that runs between the hotel and KLCC shopping mall.

the staff ,the rooms ,the food the location sorry i can not think of any cons from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome & special ,the people at the front desk whent out of there way to accomadate our needs & when we arrived at our room we were in shock at how well appointed it was & then there was the amazing view . breakfast was huge you did not know where to start , it was the perfect way to start the day [before the shopping started]& at the end of the day [after shopping all day] having a drink in the spa or relaxing by the pool was the perfect way to relax & unwind with spectacular views. Then it was time for dinner at the gobo bar & grill, truely a cullenry delite the {head chief is truely a gifted man} with wounderfull staff & a special thank to our waiter Darnish{i hope spelling is correct}his service & freindly adivse i could not falt. over all we are allready planing to come back to K.L next year and i can promise you we will be staying at THE TRADERS HOTEL.
Hotel Feature Tip : try and get a view of the towers {amazing at night} & defineatly eat at the gobo bar&grill

Nice hotel. Nice rooms. Good breakfast Not close to much nightlife. I thought I was booking at Shangala but this is one of their properties. disappointing!!! Nice hotel with good staff. Not much to do at night without taking a cab ride.
Nightlife Tip : Not close to much. Be prepared to walk or take a cab.

The Club Rooms were wonderful. We were able to have breakfast before we checked in on the first day (we arrived very early!)and afternoon tea and evening drinks and snacks after we checked out. They were all complimentary and were very much appreciated. We only ate in the restaurants once. The food was cheap and okay, but not brilliant. Food in the club lounge was just okay. The club lounge breakfasts were brilliant though. After we booked Traders we found a review of bars in KL which said that the best bar in KL was Traders Sky Bar. A couple of days later there was a review in the Australian newspaper, The Age, which raved about the hotel and also said the Sky Bar was THE place to go in KL. Our view was that the bar was okay, but very humid - being next to an indoor pool.
The rooms were very good, the room service was good, but it was by no means the most impressive hotel we've stayed in.
However, it is very good value for money and is very well located. We'd certainly stay there again.
Restaurant Tip : The hotel faces a large garden area. Across the garden is the Petronas Towers (which are beautiful at night). The KLCC shopping centre is beneath the towers and has some wonderful, unbelievably cheap, restaurants in the top floor food mall.

Very centralize, convenient. Great food selection for breakfast. Swimming pool on top most floor that converts to nice peasceful pub at night. A little pricey and if you don't book in advance, you are unlikely to get a room. Very centralize, very near to Petronas Twin tower & KLCC. For family with young kids, they will enjoy the nearby playground and park, or the little buggy ride between the hotel and KLCC. Don't forget to visit the swimming pool on the top most floor which will convert to a pub at night. If you don't mind spending more, they have a wide variety of food offered during breakfast. Otherwise, you can also make a short trip to KLCC. Hotel facility is good too. Only if they can lower their price a little.

Modern, Clean, great location Pool is just a decoration and not really functional (in the Sky Bar) The Traders hotel Kuala Lumpur is located on the edge of Kuala Lumpur City Center (KLCC) park. There is a golf cart shuttle that can take you to Suria shopping center - a 5 minute walk away. The restaurant is very good and the rooms are comfortable and well accomodated. The electronics are up to date and everything works nicely and simply. It is very good value for the price.
Shopping Tip : Convenient to get to Suria or Pavallion...the 2 top shopping areas in KL

Location, Clean, Frendly staff, Great Views, Nice Pool This websight said the Traders rooms are 27 and up but the hotel said its from the 25 and up. Pub is a bit pricy This Is a great hotel. Pay the extra money and stay in a traders room you will get a better view free snacks in the afternoon and free snacks and liquor in the early evenings on the 32nd floor. On the 33rd floor their is a great pool with 360 views of the city and the twin towers. AT night they turn the pool into a cool pub with music and great night time views. The Staff are great and the hotel is really close to shopping and transit. The only problem with staying at his hotel is when you go to a different city and stay at a hotel is you wife will complain that it not as nice at the Traders.
Shopping Tip : KL Has much better shopping than Hong Kong and for a way better price. My wife loved the shopping and I managed for find a few things for myself I would spend at least 5 days in KL it is much nicer than Hong Kong and way cleaner and cheeper

The Friendliness of the staff the rooms have to be better maintained and made cleaner specialy the linen have to be changed more as they are overused The hotel is in a very good location but the claenliness and update of the rooms have to be improved upon as there were things not working it being a club room which has to be of a higher standard
