an oasis in kl
closness to central KL, Stunning decor, brilliant service lovely swimming pool and very clean comfortable room
10
Our stay in Villa Smadhi was excellent, we arrived late in the evening, after a long and tiring journey from London to be greeted by attentive smiling staff bearing delicious drinks and sandwiches. Our room was stunning as was the rest of the hotel, the swimming pool was beautiful and we particularly liked the rooftop bar manned by a charming lad from Burma and the closness of the towers of downtown KL but the feel of being in the country. Our breakfasts were also very good. The management staff were very friendly and engaged us in conversation and the rest of the staff, particularly the girls in reception were charming and smiley. Would love to stay again next time we are in KL.

Jungle Resort in the City!!
Relaxing, Serene & Friendly
9.7
It was Christmas day when I brought my wife to this surprised stay at Villa Samadhi to celebrate her birthday. We were greeted with the friendly and kind staffs once we reached to the main entrance. The surrounding was fantastic, the room is huge cum with personal jacuzzi inside the bathroom, the balcony attached with outdoor soft bed overlooking the swimming pool below.Never had a breakfast so different with other hotel, it was healthy and delicious from my personal opinion. If they considered a spa/massage service provided in the villa,it would be perfect.Great stay and would come back again very soon!!

We had an enjoyable weekend in Villa Samadhi with great breakfast and lovely little touches such as bed turn down service during night time, chocolates waiting for us on our bed and little snacks during tea time! Oh, and they washed our car too in the morning : )

hard to find oasis in kuala lumpur. on my top list of hotels which I had visited over the years.
our host Cherie let us feel very welcomed. she is very thoughtful and helpful. even after a long flight she let us checked in early and served us a fresh fruit salad and cold beverages at the pool side.
the food and service is high standard!
sure we will come back!!!
one thing - a suggestion for the menue - please have a signature malayian dishes besides the european style menue - then it would be heaven on earth.
Shopping Tip:
close to central KL with all its malls.
take the KTM to get around fast.

The room was very comfortable and the girl at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Manager was a little brusque but it didn't bother me too much. My only complaints had to do with the water; the first day I was there, the pool boy took the whole morning cleaning the pool. In a country where it tends to rain in the evening, this is not good. The pool water and the water in the jacuzzi smelled a little stale. Hot water would have made more sense for the jacuzzi - and would have been more hygienic. Also for a "retreat", they might want to think of having more convenient massage services for guests.

It's a great serene place in the middle of KL. Cannot be more private than this. Fantastic Food and Services. Nevertheless, the Hotel should be able to cater to certain demands, i.e. Late checkouts.

Beautiful in every way
Great room, great food, great pool

this is a beautiful boutique hotel, with lovely, personalised service. the bed linen is absolutely top notch (i love good bed linen when i'm away!), the food is excellent, the coffee at breakfast is amazing, the rooms are exceptional, and you get lovely treats each night, like malay kuih (cakes)... yuuuum. it is in a nice, quiet area of town, but easy to catch a cab to the train station. the pool is lovely on one of those steamy hot kl days, too :)
Travel tip:
This is a good area to stay in if you need onward visas etc., because it's the embassy area.

Nice City Getaway with Great Service
Guest services is wonderful, spacious, comfortable rooms.
6.7
stayed at villa samandhi with some girlfriends for some rest and relaxation. i liked how they were very prepared for us - when we got to check in, the extra bed was made up and an extra robe had been provided. check-in and check out was a breeze and very efficient.
the entire resort is non-smoking, so for us it was quite hard to have to trek to the lobby. eventhough we had booked the loft, which was on the top floor with a plunge pool, smoking was forbidden even by the pool.
major con: the plunge pool was quite dirty. there was some sediment on the bottom of the pool that prevented us from using it altogether.
Travel tip:
Not a place for families with young children. We were rather sternly given the impression that it is a place that values tranquility and quiet.

resort like hotel in residential area
Good location and breakfast
7.3
My ratings may be skewed by the fact that I just came from The Banjaran in Ipoh and that I had went to Japamala (same owners) in Tioman last year and had some expectations.
Taking a cab from KLCC will probably cost you MYR5-7, at most, but again some taxis will just charge you a flat MYR15. We took the latter as we were a little tired.
The place is Jalan Marge, and many cab drivers won't know how to go and you should tell tell Jalan U Thant, and they will know. Resort does not have obvious signs and may be a little hard for cab drivers to locate at first. The nearest station is Ampang and not KLCC. Ampang is about 20 minutes walk (if you dont get lost).
Check in was a breeze and the set up was similar to Japamala in Tioman but somethings are just not the same. Stayed at Sarang, with a jacuzzi that is switched on at specific times and too nosiy. Was shocked when told that no outside food allowed. I must have stayed in hotels 200, if not 500 times, and this is the first time I have heard this. We bought some special champagne and canned abalone/bird's nest bottled and felt quite lousy. In the end, we just drank the wine and had to keep the used bottle in our luggage. Lousy feeling.
Wife and me were amazed and still am, by Japamala, by the staff and place and this is quite a turndown. Breakfast was good, and I must say the owners must really emphasise in this area, as they do for toothbrushes and toothpaste (as I recall). Sometimes, how the place feels and functions, is reflection of the lifestyle of the owners. I think were attended to by the lady owner in the morning (not too sure about this though), as the place is still under construction for some additons, and must say that there must be some strict instructions that every knock or drill must be done to minimise disturbances.
If you want to walk, the front desk will have a very readable self printed map that will take you to Ampang, where you can take a few stops to KLCC. The good thing is the pr
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Walk 20 min to Ampang (avoid the taxis during peak hours)
