Excellent location on the beach!
Service personnel needs a lot of training.
The hotel has a fantastic location on one end of the beach, with white sand and water clean enough to swim in. Although I got a nice view of the beach from the 8th floor, my family was staying on the 7th floor and only saw the roof of another wing.
Checking into the hotel wasn't a problem. We got to the room, and there were no towels in the room, and the hotel safe was locked. Not much of an issue. My family had ordered an extra bed during booking, and didn't find that bed in the room when checking in around 3pm. They called housekeeping asking for the bed again. We went out and came back around 11pm, and they still hadn't sent an extra bed.
Breakfast was acceptable, although there wasn't much choice, and you must know that even though there isn't a station for cooking eggs - you can ask one of the waiters who will tell the kitchen to prepare it for you. My main complaint here was that tables weren't clean, and when we asked someone to clean it, she gave us a strange look and started mumbling.
It could have been a bad day, and I'd like to say perhaps the hotel was crowded that weekend - but it didn't look crowded at all.

The only good thing is its proximity to the ferry slip for boats to Retang Island. At least it is not expensive.
the food is almost inedible, they are not allowed to serve alcohol, and their grasp of the English language is minimal.
We stayed here only because our flight did not leave time to catch the ferry to Retang Island on the same day we arrived. There is very little choice of hotels in Kuala Terangganu, and they are all on the lower end. This may in fact be the best of them, which is not saying much.

The toilet was quite small and the washing pipe was not ergonomically located.
I came late for check-in and found out my room was canceled that was said to be automatically done by the computer. It was frightening that I might be left out without any room. But a swift action by the reservation staff had given me another room which was better than my previous room. I am more than satisfied.
The ambiance of the Garden Terrace was perfect for breakfast. The swimming pool was clean and beautiful. And the Balok beach was very safe for swimming considering the monsoon season at that time. This enabled me to enjoy both the pool and the beach at my heart's will.

It seems that Terranganu does not have an international hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Redang Island is an incredible place. Chinatown of Terranganu is also nice otherwise, the city has no real places of interest.

Great location, right on the beach. Rooms clean and well equipped. Staff friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was chaotic - although this was because it was very busy as there was a big sporting event going on in the city (Olympic qualifying events I think).
Room service was a little cold when it arrived.
The location is right on the beach - sadly we were only there for a 1 night stopover en route to Pulau Perhenitians so we didn't get to try the beach.
I couldn't fault the staff who were friendly and helpful - we arrived much later than intended (due to the joys of Air Asia) and we were upgraded to the Presidential Suite which was amazing!!
Beach bar was really nice and relaxing. Overall a very good hotel with well equipped and tidy rooms.

The hotel is one of two four-star rated hotels in Kuala Trengganu. We stayed at the hotel after a trip to Redang, and the service offered was not what we expected from a 4 star hotel. The main advantage of this hotel is the beach. Allowing people to smoke in the hotel especialy the lobby is a major turn off for me.
Shopping Tip : The hotel is located not too far away from Pasar Payang, a market which offers local batik fabrics , songket and local fare. There are also stalls set up by the beach selling local food and kites. My children enjoyed flying their kite by the beach.

This is a fine hotel with very pleasant staff. My room was quite a walk from the reception but that is because so many rooms are ground or first floor. It was very windy when I was there so did not use the lovely beach. I was there when there was a general election so hotel was very busy with families returning to vote. So as a single traveler found the volume of kids hard to live with.
Nightlife Tip : No alcohol is sold in this State so take some with you if you like alcohol.

A bit difficult to get around. Hotel has excursions to the popular tourist attractions but for those looking for different, off the track attractions, not many options.
Travel tip : There's not really much near or around the hotel. Although the location as quite good, i.e. near the beach, but other attractions were quite far. Getting around in Kuala Terengganu is not easy if you don't have a car. The hotel has shuttle services to some of the more popular torist attractions but if you're loooking for something different, it would be very difficult.
