Solid Hotel for Families
great pool and beach, all well designed
6
After leaving another hotel which turned out to be awful, we checked into the "Swiss Garden". The hotel looks new, the rooms are clean. For a 4 star hotel, it provides some luxury, but it is certainly far away from a 5 star hotel. On par with a 5 star hotel are the priced of food and drings. One dish together with a drink at one of the restaurant will be RM 40 or more. Its easy to spend RM 300 a day, with a family of three. The quality of the food was good, but not exceptional to justify the rather high prices. Overall there is not much that special at the hotel. It has two nice pools and a great beach, where the staff really takes care of. If you are looking for Sun and Beach, this is the right place. Some activities are also provided and there are sport facilities. We paid for the simplest room category advertised. The price was OK.

Rooms doors were very squeaky
Near Kuantan town, fairly clean hotel
5.3
would have prefered if there were 2 bathrooms instead of only one in a family room.

The lobby area is very attractive - huge and rather chic, but once you enter the rooms, it is like any run of the mill hotel - dark stained wood and uninspired fixtures. My studio suite still had an old CRT TV & worn-down cane furniture. And this being a resort by the beach, the flooring were all tiled. Nonetheless, housekeeping had kept it all clean & tidy.
Breakfast was unimaginative, and at the risk of libel I suspect dishes recycled from the previous nights' dinner buffets - after 40 years I think I would be able to judge if cooked chicken tastes "old". On the whole breakfast was rather low in quality & variety. I received no service during breakfast.
Front of house service is good.

A big room and the beach just behind the hotel.. Not near town, take taxi cost RM 35 for one way to town.. Hotel with shutter bus services that twice a day.. 11:00 and 16:00.. I can not benefit on it..
Breakfast - so so.. Not much choice.. Wifi - two hour free and we can access in room..staff polite and friendly .

We drove our way there and there are ample carparks in the resort. Room was clean and everything in the room are working as it should be. Pool is nice but food and drinks are on the pricy side(heineken RM$20/glass, Sirloin steak RM$48). We went rackie from Swiss garden up till Club Med(30km-40km one way). There, we past by many hotels like eg:Legend, Residence Inn, Holiday Villa and we even drove into those hotels/resorts(but not Club Med) and walk around but none are comparable to Swiss Garden in terms of location and decor. Overall, Swiss Garden is a fantastic resort and we will be there again.
Restaurant Tip:
Basically, outside Swiss Garden has quite a number of restaurants to choose within 1-2km. There's a restaurant name SRI JEMBAL within 3-5km(turn right when exiting Swiss Garden). The restaurant is on your opposite side which is just along the main road. The way they cook the Sotong is fantastic. The stingy ray is also good and the 'kai lan' is very delicious. Almost everyone is ordering the watermelon juice but we had orange juice. The orange juice taste like it from ORANGE JUIUS's. Tom Yum soup was normal but with all these dish, the price was RM$48.

Booking it with reserves!
6.7
"Overrated" was the feeling I get when I first arrived at Swiss Garden.
Upon arrival, I went down to the beach while waiting for my rooms to be ready. Seriously, you might want to discount 50% on expectations from the photo pictured on the net. I was also expecting some sea-sports activities but everything doesnt seem available at my point of stay.
I had a deluxe sea-view room. BUT, the view was blocked by trees. What a disappointment! Apart from that, the rooms are pretty normal as with other average hotels you might expect.
++ The food at the chinese restaurant is goood..
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Turtle-watching & Fireflies: You can book through the travel counter at the lobby. I booked it at RM170/pax. The fireflies boating trip was nothing spectacular in my opinion. But the turtle watching session was both educational and eye-opening. ++++
Other than that, you can actually self-drive to all destination offered.

Rooms are spacious and bright. Although it is not a new hotel, Management bothers to do maintenance.
However, breakfast could be improved. More western than asian dishes.
