Great location, large room but old furnitures
Beach & huge wading pool is nice for kids. Free wi-fi.

It was a pleasant stay and the children enjoyed playing at the beach and wading pool. The room is spacious for 2 adults + 2 children with one extra bed. It's time for the hotel to upgrade the mattress to a new one for more comfortable sleep.

location is great but the rooms are small and with only one bathroom. the breakfast is so simple and with limited choice. a lot of flies at the breakfast area. pool is good and the surroundings are nice.

We took the garden view which was not as nice compared to the sea view. a lot of children in this resort during school holidays, so I suppose if you don't want to hear screaming kids, best not to go during school break. but other than enjoyable stay and good service from hotel staff.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Travel about 11km away to find another beach which also has bars and some gorgeous view of bluegreen sea

Poor service and packed with screaming kids!

Chose this resort because of the close proximity to the beach although the conference which I had to attend was 15km away. My wife came along to enjoy the spa and beach but on weekends this place got too crowded for for any couple to relax. This is not a place for a quiet getaway/ business. The service was bad as well because despite requesting for newspaper the night before I did not receive it. The breakfast buffet standard also dropped on Saturday and Sunday because of the crowd. Basically I was bitterly dissapointed with this resort due to the fact that they cannot cope with the large crowd and sacrifice on their services when this happens.
Restaurant Tip:
Check out cherating steak house restaurant which is about 8km away along jalan beserah.

Recommended hotel near Kuantan...beach front too
still very well kept, private sandy beach

Its been four years since my last visit. Initially wanted to try out cherating hotel but some review it badly maintained or else out of my budget. Fortunately Swiss garden Kuantan are good in keeping its hotel at optimum level. only that the garden facing rooms are not upgraded since my last visit, so better opt for sea view.

Big room and nice beach

Observations:
Service of receptionist: lack of smile and not helpful. Didn't bother to point out to the guest where the lift is located after she handed the room key to the guest.
Room cleanliness:
When we first enter the rooms they smell of cigarette smoke.
The wooden panel above the beds were very dusty. Looks like they have never been dusted.
The extra bed came in rollers which were very dirty.
The bed sheets and pillows "smell". Do not feel fresh. Scratch the whole night.
Furniture of hotel:
Cafe chairs: The " leather" of the chairs were already in tatters. Yet the chairs were still being used. Disgraceful.
Small table in room balcony: The glass of the table has completely cracked into two, yet guests are expected to use them.
Hotel design: Full of steps. Very unfriendly to the elderly.
Room Service: We paid for an extra bed. Have to ask staff to bring extra cups, extra towels etc. Staff were friendly enough but not well trained. Shouldnt they be trained to automatically provide the essentials?
Cafe service: When we ordered 10 cups of ala carte coffee staff simply pour left-over coffee from the buffet table which had already gone cold. They did change and made fresh coffee for us when we pointed that out. This should not have happened in the first place.
Overall impression is that staff are simply unaware of what good service is.
Jacuzzi : Jets have no power at all. Cleanliness is questionable.
Restaurant Tip:
There is a nice restaurant (Seafood Planet) near by, about 10 minutes walk when come out from hotel and turn right. The food is delicious and price reasonable.

nice service, private beach is clean and nice

we have book for four family room to fit in 16 ppl of us, which is nice and comfortable. however the design of hotel is a bit old fashion, but cozy is the most important thing for us.
the only bad thing we feel is the ventilation system isnt function good. even we turn the central air-cond to the minimum degree, still feel warm inside the room.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Private beach is very nice.
