The hotel is slightly old, and our toilet flush was a bit cranky - the flush wouldn't work sometimes.
Also abit far from the main town area in langkawi and getting there takes quite a while - but that's what you pay for an exclusive beach resort, i guess.
The room was lovely - we had a king size bed, a day bed, and a balcony. Our chalet was situated on the hill which was quite pleasant. It was quite a walk to the main lobby, but the shuttle service was prompt and efficient, so it was not too bad. The hotel's spa is pretty good too. The restaurants are pretty good, but pricey for malaysian standards.
However, as the hotel is slightly ol, our toilet flush was a bit cranky and wouldn't work sometimes. Also abit far from the main town area in langkawi and getting there takes quite a while - but that's what you pay for an exclusive beach resort, i guess.

Fantastic room, Courteous staff, great services in all area.
Quite far from the city area, lots of mosquitoes during night time.
The resort is located at outskirt area which is quite far from the main city. But we managed to rent a cheaper car and drove to our resort so it was still not too bad.
The moment we stepped into the lobby of the resort, we discovered how grand this place is. And the staffs were very helpful and supportive. They served cocktail drinks for all the new arrival guests at their lobby.
The pool and beach there is very beautiful. You can have fun with the water sports at their private beach. They also have pool bar where you can sit on the chair build in to the swimming pool and enjoy the drinks with your friends or lover.
One of the inconvenient things is that we had to wait for the van to bring us to our chalet room.
But I knew I did not make a wrong choice for choosing “Berjaya Langkawi Resort”! I will choose the same resort for my next trip to Langkawi again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Oriental Village/Cable car is just near to the resort. You will reach this place within 5 mins by driving.

Had the premier chalet on water - excellent room and location
Nice pool and very good cocktails at pool bar
Good shuttle service and easy to get taxi service.
Check in time 2pm ; but my room was only ready at 3.30 pm!!!
Staff at beach restaurant were quite rude.
Food very pricey at hotel restaurants - but quite tasty.
The resort was in a very good location - quiet and not too packed. Arrived at noon and was told rooms will be ready at 2pm; but at 3.30pm, room was still not ready!! Got very frustrated just waiting - almost spoiled the whole weekend. But the pool and the beautiful chalet on water made up for it.
Good spa facilities - pricey, but staff were very good.
Better to eat out of hotel; try tapaz restaurant, 5 minutes away. Excellent sangria!

Very comfortable chalet and amazing surroundings.
This is a very cool place. The chalet was in a great location and very comfortable and spacious. It was very clean but still maintained a rustic feel. The grounds and surrounding rainforest were spectacular. The private beach and pool beautiful. The staff were very friendly, with housekeeping and laundry service getting extra nods for great jobs. I really enjoyed the nature walks. I highly recommend.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The cable car is right next to the resort and a must-do! And take advantage of the free nature walks, you will learn a lot and have fun too!

Fabulous views over the bay.
The setting of the chalets amongst the lush forest
with plenty of roaming wildlife.
Also the daily gift from the resort was a nice touch.
Could have another pool located at the far end of the resort, as it is a fair hike to main area from some areas of the resort.
Also the selection of TV stations could be improved, with more "english" speaking channels.
We had a fabulous time ,it is definitly a 5 star resort, the rooms are absolutely beautiful and spacious, with huge king sized beds,Buffet Breakfast at the beach cafe was a great way to start the day.
The pool and in-pool bar made swimming a pleasant and unqiue experience.
The management and staff were extremely well organised and had a fantastic "let me help you" attitude.
I would recommend this resort for a great relaxing holiday
Restaurant Tip : A fabulous cheap restaurant can be found outside the resort ,next to the nearby Mutiara Burau Bay Resort, about 1 km away from the Burjaya(Note : not the Oriental village),dinner for 4 should cost under 50 ringgot

- Great quality rooms
- Courteous staff
- Good food
- Enjoyable pvt beach
- Pretty cut off from main island
- Tad expensive and need to have better variety in indian vegetarian food
The hotel is situated in a serene place. We had an amazing stay using the facilities (the pool and beach were our favorite). The support staff are very helpful and prompt in getting the van from room till the lobby which is a necessity given the span of rooms. Rooms are very neat and maintained regularly. Host of water sports at their private beach is a good addon. Since we booked through agoda we got a great deal else it could hv been tad expensive. Food at the beach resort deserves special mention and is home for most vegetarians. Had a great time.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : U can hire bikes for local sightseeing and other water sports from a shop near the resort at 30-40 MYR per day. U can use it to visit underwater world/local markets.

5 star hotel as soon as you walk in, the service was fantastic in all the areas and was very relaxed
rooms were a little old and as its such a big resort you have to wait a while for the pick up from your room
Overall I liked the hotel, the service was great and the pool and beach area was very good. After going out of the resort I found it much cheaper to eat and drink in many other places.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Mangrove swamp tour, (book in town as its far more cheaper)

The best feature was the beach (quite shallow for people who can't swim and deeper further on for ones who can swim). Lots of water sports. Shuttle bus available 24 hours to take us to the car park. This is because the chalets are all away from the water sports and noisy areas. Very polite and friendly staff.
The Dayang Cafe needs to revise their menu. If you're vegetarian, it's going to be a little difficult unless you're willing to eat the same 2 things every lunch and dinner. Quite disappointed that they didn't serve Roti Canai and other M'sian noodles which are quick and easy to make. We didn't want to dine at the Thai restaurant because having come such a long way from Aust, we
We enjoyed our holiday at the Berjaya resort immensely. The staff were polite, helpful and very willing. Very good swimming pool facilities and we both swam at the beach and had a lovely time on the jet ski. We also walked back and forth from our chalet to the car park at times instead of using the shuttle just so we could observe some wildlife (monkeys and a squirrel glider). Distance is not far. We had some monkeys visit our balcony. We fed them but made sure our balcony door was open only an inch. One had a little baby. The monkey visit was a very memorable highlight for us. The food is quite reasonably priced although there could be more offered to vegetarians at the Dayang Cafe. Staff here were polite and friendly and one even remembered the dessert we had had the night before. This resort is also very close to the cable car ride (30 ringgit adults). I would recommend this resort to my friends.
Hotel Feature Tip : Shallow beach for non swimmers (waist high) and deeper further out.If you like wildlife, you will enjoy this hotel (little monkeys). 24 hour shuttle from chalet to car park. Distance is walkable if you want to walk off all that food!Nice welcome drink too.

Closure to Nature
Huge and Clean Beach
Friendly Staff
The hotel is very nice located, has big and clean beach with all needed water attractions. Our chalet was located at a hill in rainforest. Many wild animals like monkeys and flying squirrels can be seen from its balcony and windows. Internal transport (open minibus shuttles) are peculiarly designed and very accurate. We stayed with two little children and they enjoyed children-friendly pool, clean sand at the beach and communication to monkeys.

The marketing and public relations effort put in by the hotel to sell itself.
1. quality of service
2. quality of rooms
3. quality of food and beverage
4. quality of amenities
It was an extremely unpleasant experience that i had in Berjaya Langkawi. Right from the start at the front desk when i checked in, the Filipino receptionist took 45 mins to check me in and was extremely rude to me when i kept asking why it took so long. The rooms given to me were old and dirty, with the air con leaking. The amenities for a resort were shocking! We were forced to go out of the resort for entertainment when we thought that everything could be done within. Overall, this will be the last time i ever step into any Berjaya facility.
Restaurant Tip : Restaurants at the cable car tower were much better than that of the resort.

not exactly a PRO but the live band at the reception bar was hilarious, very fitting songs for the family-friendly folks sitting around. bar sells nice cigars.
jacuzzi is turned off at night.
distance wasn't a problem as we rented a car, but it is quite a drive to Pantai Cenang, on small two-lane two-way roads all the way at 60kmph. location's quite fabulous though, nestled in the foothills of gunung mat chincang with the cable car station in close proximity. don't look at our colorful ratings- the 3s given are because we didn't really try the food/dining.

Pool is awesome.
Beach is lovely.
Monkeys are everywhere.
Crowded mass of tourists.
This place is huge, massive, secluded and spectacularly beautiful. I booked 3 Deluxe rooms for around 90USD/per night. Yea, yea, you'll read reviews about how the bathroom is dirty, the room looks a little tired, but honestly, it's not bad at all. This place is definitely stuck in the early 90's era but the scenery is so beautiful, it doesn't even matter. If you're out to have a good relaxing,
Restaurant Tip : Don't waste your money on hotel food.
