good quiet location. set in the middle of a forest with a jungle feeling yet right on the beach with good variety of water sports. good restaurents for breakfast and freindly staff that will go out of their way to meet your needs.

resort is very big requiring the use of vehicles to transport guests to and from chalets/rooms. all this vehicle running around constantly can get noisy throughout the day especially when you are relaxing in the balcony. many rooms have interconnecting doors - not good if you have gone in a couple and there are guests next door as the noise easily gets through underneath the doors.

the resort location can be looked as good or bad depends on how you like your resorts. it is located in a peacefull location on the edge of a forest with a private beach, but it is also far from other main areas of the island i.e. cenang beach takes approx half hour.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : hire a car/motorbike (nearest one is outside Mutiara burau bay resort, apart from the hotel that is expensive) and tour the island at your own leisure. all roads and atractions are very well signposted and roads are literally empty. nearby berjaya is cable car, worthwhile to visit. also nearby is seven wells waterfall (2 in 1) visit the first one half way up the hill then climb the steps and visit the real one at the top, make sure you take swim wear and towel and you could end up spending ours frolicking in several of the natural pools. durian peranginn (waterfall) is another nice one to visit. it comes in on your way from berjaya to kuawa town. also worth driving up the mount gunung (gunung ru) spectacular views.

There are lots of selling points @ Berjaya Langkawi Beach & Spa Resort: 1. Fast Check-in as well as fast approval of late check out 2. Friendly and efficient Staffs 3. Clean Resort, room and all facilities 4. 4-5choices of different restaurant to meet one needs 5. Nice beach

None! :)

This is my first time in Langkawi and i am glad that i have chosen Berjaya Langkawi Beach & Spa Resort for my 3D2N stay during the trip. The resort is just around 15-20mins from the airport and the cost of the taxi fare is RM24 which i think reasonable. Upon reaching the resort, we were greeted by the friendly staff at the check in counter. Unlike other resorts that i have went to, staff over at the Berjaya resort will ask you to have a seat first and have a welcome drink while they settle everything. This is indeed good and nice without having us stand at the counter and wait. At Berjaya, they provide shuttle facilities to transport you from one location to another within the resort which is indeed a very nice service they have. Zero waiting time and you can grab the shuttle at the lobby any mins you want. I love it very much. We took the shuttle to our Junior Suite on Water Room after the check in process. The room is nice and fantastic, large and spacious. Toilet is clean and big too. And not forgetting the nice sea view we have from the balcony. I love it and spend quite alot of time relaxing at the area. Thai restaurant at berjaya resort is a must visit place for dining, especially during the evening. Nice scenery, mood and good food too. Price are reasonable too. Berjaya has a nice beach too. And there is a restaurant over at the beach too. Thats the place we have our daily breakfast. Isnt it great that you are having your breakfast overlooking at the sea and beach... Oh, you will simply give the shuttle service a call and wait outside at your room for the shuttle to transport you to the breakfast area in the morning... i have enjoyed my stay over at Berjaya. Staffs over at there are very efficient in responding to your request. This is what a 5* resort should have. Good Job, Berjaya Langkawi Resort !!!!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Cable Car Station and 7 Wells waterfall are 2 top attractions you must visit during your stay in Berjaya. They are just ard 10mins ride away from the resort.

The beach, the restaurants and bars, the quality of service

No internet in the rooms, dependency on hotel vans if your room is far from the lobby area

The Berjaya is a great, secluded resort if you're interested in staying at the resort for most of your activities. It has a beautiful private beach, one of the highlights. It would be advisable to rent a car if you plan on seeing the rest of the island, though one of Langkawi's most beautiful attractions, the cable car, is right next door. There are also some excellent Italian, Russian, Spanish, and Asian restaurants at the nearby private harbor. When we checked-in, the first room given to us unfortunately had cracks in the front door and plaster on the bathroom walls, definitely a surprise for a five-star resort. After complaining, we were upgraded to a nicer, deluxe chalet with a better view. Otherwise, service was good, the pool was nice, prices are reasonable at the lobby restaurant, and the overall experience would prompt me to repeat my stay.

Restaurant Tip : If you have a car or take a taxi, there are some excellent restaurants at Telaga Harbour nearby.

beautiful hotel that can't find in my country

very nice hotel , close to the beach , many trees , but not suitable for children since the hotel is quite big in space . My friend's son was lost after he take shower near swimming pool , because my friend though he went back to the room , since the room and the lobby have certain distance , they spend 1 hrs to get each other , however , the hotel stuff was very helpful in this small case.

Great surroundings with the forest and the beach, Lovely garden & pool. Good restaurant

None

We booked a lovely chalet with sea view. The way to get there was by a small shuttle bus that would come as soon as we dialed reception or we could step in at the hotel lobby. For my two year old son that was for sure one of the high lights of this holiday. Next to the lovely clean beach and the huge pool with cascading waters and a sunken bar plus great food at the beach restaurant!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The cable car is around the corner. Once you're up there you can see Langkawi and all the small surrounding islands.

Clean, well presented hotel and room. Very pleasent staff and will help at every level.

Lobby is far rom the room we stayed in, all the rooms can be reached by their shuttle service, which means getting to your room and back to the lobby can take 10mins. Nothing else!

Very nice hotel, enjoyed our stay in a well presented room and clean with all the stuff you would expect in the room. Food is good in the hotel and fairly priced, but hire a car (£36 for 4 days) from the airport and you can see the whole island and go out to eat which is much cheaper and enjoyable.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Located net to the cable cart which is a must see.

Extremely nice and helpful staff - I cannot say it enough: great location - Very clean rooms, clean beach and clean water - I have never been to Paradise but this is how I imagine it !

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : do not miss a tour in the Mangrove and the night markets - Rent a Moped for little money: its the only way to see the Island. Do not get too close to the monkeys.

Unique layout and landscapes, natural surrounding, 24-hour free shuttle service, polite staff, good views.

noisy air-coditioner, shower lighting too dim.

Its a good stay and nice experience with value of money. Recommended beach restaurant with fabulous sea views are memorable. Food quality is average but its the atmosphere that counts. A walk on the beach in the evening is so relaxing and dont forget to have a walk on the floating deck to have some good photo shooting of the full-view of the resorts layout. Talk a jungle-walk with the tour guide to experience the natural green and harmless animals (squirral, monkeys ) living there. You may need mosquito repellent spray for body if you are sensitive to flying insects.

Restaurant Tip : you will find some nice restaurants not far away from the hotel (near the boat and yacht harbour). Try the bakery there, its fab. !

Resort style hotel with chalets in the Jungle.

The beer seemed to be watered down and the food was hugely overpriced for the quality received. It was priced appropriately for a good hotel but was pretty mediocre and so we ate there as little as possible. Shower in bathroom didn't work, and the children's swimming pool needed lots of maintenance

It was a nice hotel but I probably wouldn't stay here again. The food was very unexceptional - it was far better going and eating out of the hotel - even for breakfast. The bed's though received rave reviews from every one in our group - they were really comfortable. Agoda did get us very good prices though and we were upgraded on arrival as well :)

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Go running up to the top of the mountain with the cable car - almost as painful as a marathon but worth it!

far from the main city

It was a nice hotel, it was to far from the city. Needed to hire a car which we did @ 40 aud per day. The rooms need a bit of work done however it was comfortable and good bedding. It was not the best of beaches. A good size pool with a bar in it which was great. The staff were friendly and helpfull. it was a rexing place to be at. 4 different eating areas to suit all.

Every member of staff we met anywhere on this enormous hotel site greeted us with a word and a smile. Even the bar singers got among the audience and talked with them, dedicating songs to them. The beach area is delightful, the Andaman sea hard to come out of. Security staff are everywhere, but unobtrusive and pleasant. Cabins are spacious and well provided and cleaning efficient. A cheerfully manned mini-bus service between the almost 500 cabins and the hotel lobby arrives within minutes of a phonecall. Management is light-handed, approachable, friendly and efficient.

Toilets in both cabins and hotel lobby had a tendency to become blocked, but were cleared immediately. This is probably done from underneath cabins (which are on stilts) without disturbance. Cabins linked by good, winding concrete roads for buses stand in spaces cut from the jungle and rich in wildlife )tropical vegetation and animals (we saw a small snake, several goannas - monitor lizards - and monkeys) but residents keeping to paths found no cause for alarm.

An extremely friendly, cheerful and welcoming hotel with a very high standard of customer care, beach restaurant, buffet and a-la-carte main restaurant plus Chinese and Japanese restaurants with friendly, talkative maîtres de, happy to explain the mysteries of chopsticks and enhance the eating experience. An actvities list to meet all tastes, including free guided nature walks, and an attentive advice/booking staff. Young adult went for kayaking the mangroves, with guide; visiting a crocodile "farm" (collection) with daredevil show; golf on a superb (not easy)course cut out of the jungle (complete with entrancing wildlife). The turf is not English grass, however; the greens less than perfect. Beach activities aplenty. Nothing cheap, but value.

Travel tip : Beachside rocks slippery and covered in tiny, sharp shellfish which lacerated my arms and hands when I slipped. Kindly and attentive hotel management provided free taxi to and from hospital, indistinguishable from an English hospital, treatment costing GBP 3 from kindly and careful team, making full health checks. A second tip: Taxis are easy to find at hotels and arrival terminals, but hard to find from destination attractions for journeys back. Drivers will wait for a small fee for your return journey.
