- Houses are at an excellent location. Near the forest and sea.
- Our Superior Chalet looked really nice.
We loved the fact that it's entirely made from wood.
- Good shuttlebus service (Since some houses are more then 1 km from the lobby)
- Very good food.
- The bed we slept in was awefull. You can feel every spine in the bed.
This was a great resort.
The hut was exactly what we hoped it to be and more. The inside is pretty standard but that's ok.
We picked this resort for it's location and activities nearby and we enjoyed all of them.
The food at the beach resort was simply amazing.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Seven Wells Waterfall.
(PS : If you actually want to see the seven wells inform at the reception, because this involves 2.5 km jungle trekking and is risky without guide.)

1. Staff very very friendly.
2. Our Sea Facing Junior chalet is fanstastic.
3. Must try the thai restaurant. The food is superb but very expensive. Nice view as the restaurant is located on the sea front. Very windy. The restaurant staff is very friendly.
4. We are able to feed coral fish from our room balcony.
1. No internet access in room.
2. Old furniture. Need to change.
3. Very far from town but it is ok as we rented a car.
Overall, our experince with berjaya is perfect. The have shuttle bus to take you from your chalet to the lobby and back 24 hours. Just ring them and they will come.
Of all my stay in other hotels, the staff here are excellent and wil take care of you.
Will definately return.
Restaurant Tip : Try the thai restaurant.

Surroundings, great views, food.
Long distance from our room to restaurants, beach and pool.
The Hotel is great for those who love nature. We enjoyed the stay, food, service, views and... the monkeys. The beach is average, but is great for Langkawi, given the increased pollution from Penang. The best excursion was mangrove tour - it is a "must" for travelers to Langkawi
The Hotel were advertising that wireless Internet is available in premier suites on water, but it failed to provide us the connection.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Mangrove tour

nice pool, nice location ,near to cable car.
for shuttle bus we had to wait more than 10 mins
Berjaya an excellent place when i stay The staff are amazing and go out of their way to make you comfortable. Basically everything we asked for, they provided. The rooms were good and comfortable. Walking among the resort, and even from your room, you can see monkeys, hornbills and other wildlife amidst the hotel's jungle setting, still not sure, we definitely don't regret staying there as it was an amazing experience.

Great beach and scenic view
having to wait for a buggy to get anywhere as it was a huge resort. Howver, in all fairness, it was never a long wait.
Our hotel stay was great. The staff was very helpful, especially the Assistant Manager at the check in counter. He saw that my mom would have difficulty climbing steps to the original room we booked (Deluxe Chalet). He offered to upgrade us to a Premeier Chalet out of goodwill. That was an amazing start to our holiday.
The Premier Chalet was spacious, and the bathroom was huge. It also had its own private deck overlooking the sea. Every morning waking up and having a cup of coffee here was a treat.
On the negative side, the food within the resort was alright but not fabulous. We found a hawker center at the oriental village that served excellent seafood for a very reasonable price. We also explored Cenai and ate at Orkit where we had lobsterrs and tiger prawns for a very good price too.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The cable car ride is a must when you go to langkawi and it is only 5 mins away from the hotel

Staff were excellent, quality of the food and service
Distances to walk from rooms to main area may not suit some
Having been captivated by Forum posts, and having found a cracking deal onm Agoda.com for the intended dates of travel, I had no hesitation in booking at the Berjaya.
From the very moment we were collected at the airport by the resort transfer bus, we were made to feel very special, almost VIP like (cost = 30RM, slightly more than a taxi, but does away with any concerns you may have about being fleeced by taxis, which should not happen anyway in Langkawi....if you wish to book the transfer, contact the Berjaya direct to organise - transfer time approx 20 minutes).
Check in was fantastic, very speedy, we were welcomed personally by the Front of House manager, Ramesh, who made us feel very special indeed. This interim staff contact, and the friendliness and attentiveness of our reception, was repeated by all of the staff at the resort . And I do mean all staff too.
The room we were given was fantastic, overlooking the Thai restaurant towards the far end of the resort, which is about800 metres from the hotel lobby Sure, it is some distance from the main hotel lobby, but if this concerns you, the frequent free shuttle service is only a few steps from your door.
Service received at all of the facilities on site (the four main restaurants, the Ayura Spa, the internet cafe area, the car hire/taxi/bookings teams) was exemplory. Even the minor issues we had with the room was dealt with via a personal response from the Housekeeping team.
We were very fortunate to be invited to a Cocktail Party periodically arranged by the Management Team of the Berjaya, and were made to feel as if we were VIP's by all concerned.

Fantastic setting with gorgeous beach. Wonderful service and friendly staff.
Quiet a distance to main city but 40 mins and £7 taxi ride is not the end of the world when you are staying in such great surroundings.
fantastic setting and beautiful beach. The service was excellent and the friendly staff a joy. The premier Chalets are stunning either in land or by the sea. Shuttle buses run all day to take you to and fro if the walk is too much, just dail 4 from your room for a pick up or take from reception to chalet. Good choice of restaurants.
Thai restaurant on the water was a real disappointment - cold tastless food!
All other restaurants and bars offered good food but wine prices are through the roof!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take a trip with Dev and experience the mangroves and the fantastic scenery and wildlife. Kayack or boat. Fantastic experience and one we'll remember for a long time!

room, location, amenities, staff, service, many options for dining to suit all taste buds, spa was excellent!
although breakfast had a vast variety of foods, some did not seem to be of great quality.
What can I say, Berjaya was an amazing hotel. we had booked the premier water chalet and do not regret it one bit. it had that wow factor we were looking for upon entering the room. complimentary fruit basket was supplied on the first day. room was very clean and overlooked the water. amazing view and although far from main reception, it was an ease to get a shuttle and we even walked a few times. staff were amazing and was greeted by every staff member.

A beautiful location in a great part of the world with lovely people and great weather.
On the internet the room was made out to be 4 star and the The offer for the room did not relate to the real room.
We arrived late and were shown to our room. The room was one of the older, smaller rooms unrenovated unlike many of the others and a long way from the sea.
That is the problem with the internet, it may seem to be a good deal based on the rest of the location but you can never be sure of the actual room. We were not happy and were able to upgrade for more than double the price and were in a great room and a great location. Trouble is it was a long way from the original offer and we used up valuable holiday funds on the upgrade.OK, there was 400 rooms and so we know there was a variation in room types but we were expecting better based on the star rating and the fact the room was described as a Superior Chalet..
Hotel Feature Tip : Take the time to enjoy the wildlife during the day watching the monkeys or at night with more monkeys or the Gliding Lemurs

Good facilities, liked the pool and the sunshine. Also close to the oriental village, an odd concept but good food, and the cable car.
A bit of a dodgy room, the bathroom floor was at an angle, the cupboard was smelly and the room itself just looked a bit worn.
The entrance is pretty grand and there's plenty of facilities. Most of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The pool was good, the beach pleasant and the fresh juice was great, although costing 3 times as much as anywhere else in Malaysia.
The negatives were the room, as stated in the cons, and I wasn't too sure about the restaurants either. The buffet was disappointing but it's hard not to be given that we'd got here from Penang but the Thai restaurant was good. The oriental village, although unashamedly touristy, did serve some good, moderately priced food and was so close, it could have been part of the resort.
Restaurant Tip : Don't bother with the buffet, plenty of better, cheaper options around.

The property has an excellent hilside location providing great views. This could mean a great deal of exercise to get to the well spread out challets, but the excellent shuttle service is swift and efficient. This style of accommodation provides a high level of privacy and brings the jungle to your verandah. Most dining was very good.
Breakfast service for a la carte breakfast was slow. Ours was not and caused some confusion with staff.
The hotel is located to the western side of Langkawi in a quiet position and well north of the airport. The steep hilside position provides sweeping panoramic views over the ocean. Very close by (easy walking or take the free shuttle) is the magnificent cable car to the peak of the Island, a not to be missed experience. The starting point for this adventure is the well laid out Oriental Village with great dining and shopping and activities for the whole family. The hotel pool and resturants are excellent and the staff a delight.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take the cable car to the peak on a clear day.

Date of stay: 19th - 21st Oct 2009
Room Type: Standard chalet
Checked in at the hotel and was pleasantly greeted by polite and courteous hotel staff. Check-in was a breeze and took about 5-10 mins. Prior to the trip, requested for a standard chalet close to beach as well as hotel reception. Got room number 2119 and was very happy with the location. Only 2-3 mins walk to the beach or hotel reception should one decide not to take the shuttle.
Got a nice room with king sized bed which was clean and well kept and come with a balcony facing the beach. If one is patient enough, likely get to see animals of different sorts such as monkeys, horn bill, squirrels etc..which one would expect in a semi-forest setting.
One thing to be careful though, there are red ants crawling along the entrance and balcony pillars, do not disturb these insects and you would be fine.
Shuttle service within Berjaya was commendable, did not have to wait longer than 5-10 mins. These are actually small vans cut up on both sides allowing easy boarding and alighting of hotel guests from both sides.
Though the hotel food was pretty expensive, but on the last night we decided to go Beach Resort Cafe for dinner. Food was fabulous and ambience setting complements that of a holiday resort. As a price guide, breakfast buffet would cost RM50 per pax.
Overall, I would strongly recommend friends and relatives to Berjaya. It had exceeded my expectations and made my stay there memorable. Thumbs up.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Mangrove Kayak Trip was magnificent. For nature lovers, this would be a not-to-miss excursion. If you are of average health and above, go for the self-kayaking expert instead of taking the boat trip. You will not regret.

-great pool area with pool bar and good drinks/food service on beach also
-Stunning location with nice private beach
-Rooms were clean and housekeeping good
-Good selection of restaurants
-Location a little further away if you want to do day trips but easy enough to get around in taxis
-Not too many options for cheap dining within the resort
We had a fantastic time at Berjaya Resort. If you are after a relaxing holiday where everything you need is offered within the resort then this is the place for you. Great pool and beach facilities and we also had a great beachside location close the the pool area for our accommodation which was fabulous. The resort is also walking distance from Langkawi cable car which is a must.
Nightlife Tip : Pantai Cenang beach is worth a trip for some beachside dinner and drinks. You can easily catch a taxi here.

The hotel is slightly old, and our toilet flush was a bit cranky - the flush wouldn't work sometimes.
Also abit far from the main town area in langkawi and getting there takes quite a while - but that's what you pay for an exclusive beach resort, i guess.
The room was lovely - we had a king size bed, a day bed, and a balcony. Our chalet was situated on the hill which was quite pleasant. It was quite a walk to the main lobby, but the shuttle service was prompt and efficient, so it was not too bad. The hotel's spa is pretty good too. The restaurants are pretty good, but pricey for malaysian standards.
However, as the hotel is slightly ol, our toilet flush was a bit cranky and wouldn't work sometimes. Also abit far from the main town area in langkawi and getting there takes quite a while - but that's what you pay for an exclusive beach resort, i guess.

Fantastic room, Courteous staff, great services in all area.
Quite far from the city area, lots of mosquitoes during night time.
The resort is located at outskirt area which is quite far from the main city. But we managed to rent a cheaper car and drove to our resort so it was still not too bad.
The moment we stepped into the lobby of the resort, we discovered how grand this place is. And the staffs were very helpful and supportive. They served cocktail drinks for all the new arrival guests at their lobby.
The pool and beach there is very beautiful. You can have fun with the water sports at their private beach. They also have pool bar where you can sit on the chair build in to the swimming pool and enjoy the drinks with your friends or lover.
One of the inconvenient things is that we had to wait for the van to bring us to our chalet room.
But I knew I did not make a wrong choice for choosing “Berjaya Langkawi Resort”! I will choose the same resort for my next trip to Langkawi again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Oriental Village/Cable car is just near to the resort. You will reach this place within 5 mins by driving.
