Great Location, Nice clean facilities, peaceful. Distance of some chalets from the main reception area could be an issue, although there are free and very regular shuttle busses. We had booked 3 nights in one of the standard chalets set back in the jungle at Berjaya resort. I'd shown the website of the resort to my family before we left, and they were very impressed by the chalets on stilts out in the sea. I assured them that my budget didn't stretch to those rooms, and that we'd be back in the jungle (which I was quite looking forward to - I'm a big fan of monkeys). When we checked in after a long flight we were upgraded to one of the premier chalets out on the stilts, and found out we'd also be getting breakfast each morning which wasn't supposed to have been included. This was a great surprise and really got our holiday off to a great start. These rooms are brilliant (we were in 1218 I think), and the views out to sea were great to wake up to in the morning. Sitting out on the balcony with a coffee and enjoying the sound of the waves on the pebbles below was really relaxing.
My view of the resort is probably coloured by the fact we had a free upgrade to a much better room than the one we'd paid for, but I'd still recommend Berjaya regardless. Some of the standard chalets where there are 4 together in a block didn't look so great and could maybe be a bit gloomy underneath the jungle canopy, but the beach and pool were brilliant, so you wouldn't be spending too much time in the room anyway. There's also a water sports centre where you can hire various types of boat (we took a two man canoe for an afternoon). All in all we had a great time at Berjaya and would return there if I'm ever in Langkawi again.
Restaurant Tip : The Thai restaurant is expensive, but well worth the outlay for the location. Book an early table (6.30ish) to enjoy the sunset, which is breathtaking.

Beautiful rooms on the water.
Excellent service. We had a beautiful room right on the water. We could sit on our balcony and watch the sun sets. Unbelievable!
The food at the resort was very good but a little pricey. We didn't have any beach time but it was kind on rainy anyways so we didn't miss much.
Always having to catch a shuttle to and from our room was a slight hassle. They were very prompt with the shuttle but the resort is just so large you can't walk around that much.

Quiet, peaceful and total privacy Better room service menus and thicker walls between the double villas - premier chalet for noise reduction. The hotel or more like resort is in a Eco forest area, about 30mins from town. So if you want easier access to town, choose another place. Its really like getting back to nature at this place. The water chalets are the best and staff are always warm and friendly. Pretty ok for a quiet and romantic getaway.
Hotel Feature Tip : Do try the thai restaurant as it is very good. Make reservations in advance. Also, get the chalets on the water types as the ones in the forest are ok but a little smelly when the air-con is off. Last, if you want total privacy, get the the single chalets only. That way - NO NEIGHBOURS.

The food at the chinese restauarant was very good. the sorroundings were very attractive and extremely soothing. The transport from the chalet was very prompt. Good facilitieis and great staff There was some building work going on but nothing to spoil our stay there My wife and I have just returned from the Berjaya Langkawi beach and spa resort and have had a fantastic 10 days there. The hotel is laid out like a small village along the coast and up ino the jungle hillside. It has all the facilities you would expect great spa good beach activities ect. The most special part of this hotel are the staff that are there to ensure your stay is good, every single member of staff we came across was friendly, happy and would do anything for you to ensure our holiday went smoothly. I would and already have higly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to have a great holiday.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : While the hotel is great if you are there for more than a couple of days hire a car and explore the island the roads are quiet and easy to navigate, go and find small local restaurants for great tasting good value meals.

nice room, nice view, friendly staff need to wait for shuttle bus sometimes, the air-con is a bit noisy and the temperature,wind cannot be adjusted. the location of this hotel is a bit far from central, but with a rented car, this should not be a problem. Besides it is near cable car, it's good. We didn't eat at hotel, so cannot comment the food there. The swimming pool for kids is small and a bit boring. But kids can play at the beach, which is clean and the sands are fine. We are quite enjoying our staying in this hotel. We will choose this one for our next visit.

(1) beach are beautiful
(2) swimming pool is nice
(3) the surrounding tropical garden was very impressing and make us felt relax
(1) some of the staff at lobby and front desk does not looks friendly as expected; some of them look tired and not smiling.
(2) the location of Berjaya resort is far from others resorts and happening area, need to spend some time (25min) to drive out for night market etc.
(3) food in resort are slight expensive then outside
(4) possibility of monkey enter room and balcony, and we are not able to enjoy food or drink at the balcony.
Berjaya resort is good choice if you like to have relaxing time on the beach and hotel. The surrounding tropical plant was very pleasant.
We are fortunate to stay in the deluxe sea view room which is near to the lobby, therefore we walk out without calling the pick up service.
I think the staff in the front desk should be more cheerful and smiling..Somehow they were appeared tired to me.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : My personal opinion, if the trip objective is to relax and not so much outside activities (shopping, island hoping), then Berjaya hotel is a good choice. However if you like to spend time for outside resort event (shopping, island hopping), then Berjaya location is a bit far.

- Houses are at an excellent location. Near the forest and sea.
- Our Superior Chalet looked really nice.
We loved the fact that it's entirely made from wood.
- Good shuttlebus service (Since some houses are more then 1 km from the lobby)
- Very good food. - The bed we slept in was awefull. You can feel every spine in the bed.
This was a great resort.
The hut was exactly what we hoped it to be and more. The inside is pretty standard but that's ok.
We picked this resort for it's location and activities nearby and we enjoyed all of them.
The food at the beach resort was simply amazing.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Seven Wells Waterfall.
(PS : If you actually want to see the seven wells inform at the reception, because this involves 2.5 km jungle trekking and is risky without guide.)

1. Staff very very friendly.
2. Our Sea Facing Junior chalet is fanstastic.
3. Must try the thai restaurant. The food is superb but very expensive. Nice view as the restaurant is located on the sea front. Very windy. The restaurant staff is very friendly.
4. We are able to feed coral fish from our room balcony. 1. No internet access in room.
2. Old furniture. Need to change.
3. Very far from town but it is ok as we rented a car. Overall, our experince with berjaya is perfect. The have shuttle bus to take you from your chalet to the lobby and back 24 hours. Just ring them and they will come.
Of all my stay in other hotels, the staff here are excellent and wil take care of you.
Will definately return.

Surroundings, great views, food. Long distance from our room to restaurants, beach and pool. The Hotel is great for those who love nature. We enjoyed the stay, food, service, views and... the monkeys. The beach is average, but is great for Langkawi, given the increased pollution from Penang. The best excursion was mangrove tour - it is a "must" for travelers to Langkawi
The Hotel were advertising that wireless Internet is available in premier suites on water, but it failed to provide us the connection.

Living in the rain forest on the edge of the sea. In-house dining facilities. Distance from the mainstream shopping and dining facilities clustered along the west coast. Waiting times for the shuttle services within this huge complex. Hotel offers a unique experience of living in a tropical rain forest surrounded by tall trees, creepers and its wild life. The resort also has a lovely beach and swimming pool. The chalets located over the sea waters with connecting walkways are a great sight. Three types of dining facilities catering for Chinese, Malaysian and Thai foods was quite convenient. The hotel also offered shuttle service to the nearby sky way lift and the Oriental Village Complex.
Restaurant Tip : Don’t miss the experience of dining at the Thai restaurant located on the sea waters located within the resort complex.

Landscape, Swimming pool, Restaurants, Rainforest and Beach combo Far from Kuah and Pantai Cenang The best resort I have ever stayed at, sprawled across a hillside with the sea on one side and the rainforest on the other. Very beautifully maintained with extremely courteous staff. Don't forget to catch a romantic dinner at the Pahn Thai restarant. The Mutiara bay is an amazing cove and you can lap around in the water without any prior experience of swimming. The cable car and oriental village further add to the charm. Overall, an amazing resort.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Book a car for the day for self-drive instead of taking taxis as the resort is very far from the city

nice pool,nice location ,near to cable car. for shuttle bus we had to wait more than 10 mins Berjaya an excellent place when i stay The staff are amazing and go out of their way to make you comfortable. Basically everything we asked for, they provided. The rooms were good and comfortable. Walking among the resort, and even from your room, you can see monkeys, hornbills and other wildlife amidst the hotel's jungle setting,still not sure, we definitely don't regret staying there as it was an amazing experience.

Great beach and scenic view having to wait for a buggy to get anywhere as it was a huge resort. Howver, in all fairness, it was never a long wait. Our hotel stay was great. The staff was very helpful, especially the Assistant Manager at the check in counter. He saw that my mom would have difficulty climbing steps to the original room we booked (Deluxe Chalet). He offered to upgrade us to a Premeier Chalet out of goodwill. That was an amazing start to our holiday.
The Premier Chalet was spacious, and the bathroom was huge. It also had its own private deck overlooking the sea. Every morning waking up and having a cup of coffee here was a treat.
On the negative side, the food within the resort was alright but not fabulous. We found a hawker center at the oriental village that served excellent seafood for a very reasonable price. We also explored Cenai and ate at Orkit where we had lobsterrs and tiger prawns for a very good price too.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The cable car ride is a must when you go to langkawi and it is only 5 mins away from the hotel

Staff were excellent, quality of the food and service Distances to walk from rooms to main area may not suit some Having been captivated by Forum posts, and having found a cracking deal onm Agoda.com for the intended dates of travel, I had no hesitation in booking at the Berjaya.
From the very moment we were collected at the airport by the resort transfer bus, we were made to feel very special, almost VIP like (cost = 30RM, slightly more than a taxi, but does away with any concerns you may have about being fleeced by taxis, which should not happen anyway in Langkawi....if you wish to book the transfer, contact the Berjaya direct to organise - transfer time approx 20 minutes).
Check in was fantastic, very speedy, we were welcomed personally by the Front of House manager, Ramesh, who made us feel very special indeed. This interim staff contact, and the friendliness and attentiveness of our reception, was repeated by all of the staff at the resort . And I do mean all staff too.
The room we were given was fantastic, overlooking the Thai restaurant towards the far end of the resort, which is about800 metres from the hotel lobby Sure, it is some distance from the main hotel lobby, but if this concerns you, the frequent free shuttle service is only a few steps from your door.
Service received at all of the facilities on site (the four main restaurants, the Ayura Spa, the internet cafe area, the car hire/taxi/bookings teams) was exemplory. Even the minor issues we had with the room was dealt with via a personal response from the Housekeeping team.
We were very fortunate to be invited to a Cocktail Party periodically arranged by the Management Team of the Berjaya, and were made to feel as if we were VIP's by all concerned.
