Friendly and helpful staff. Nice big rooms. Its very near to the airport. Stains found on bedsheets though. Hotel is about a 3min walk away from the airport. Rooms are big and comfortable. Staff are really nice and helpful.

Hotel is just beside the airport which turns out very good thing for us as we were a big group !! Spacious room and lobby, convenience location (next to airport), nice omelette! limited parking, lousy room's furnitures, tiny colour tv with only 3/4 local programme, My parent and I were in Helang Hotel for 2 nights stay, I booked a double room via agoda, but we were surprised with 2 King size beds in a very spacious room.
The toilet (quite small as compared to the size of the room) is just right beside the entrance. There is a shower room, a bath tube, toilet bowl, and a washing basin. The bath tube and toilet bowl is rather cheap and "plasticky", and believed that the toilet papers provided are the cheapest range in town. The glass-made shower room and washing basin considered outstanding among the hotel with the same rating. But one thing made me feel really really uncomfortable is the notice at the basin area which says "Please handle ...... with care as it cost RM2,000 ....". Is this a warning that if you break the basin, RM2,000 will be charged to your bill? The flooring of the toilet is made of normal tiles which is slippery when wet.
After the toilet, it is a expensive (i think) wooden cupboard but without a safe as it should. It is big enought if you have not much stuff. Next is a useless rack, we can't even figured out the use of this rack, and it ended up as a place for us to put the bags. Then there is a small TV rack (it has about the size of the toilet bowl!). This absolutely make sense because the tv is "tiny"! Open up, it is a small fridge with NOTHING inside, not even a complimentary bottle water. How can it be that a hotel never gives free bottle water???
I paid for the room for two night, but we realised that there are someone we don't know living in the room -- Mr & Mrs Cockroach. We did not point this out to the hotel staff, as we don't mind sharing the room with them. But the most important thing about an hotel is that, it has to be clean! This should be the fundamental and not the expensive basin. My mum saw one on the bed, and I saw the other beside the water boiler.

Comfortable quality, right next to Langkawi airport. Even though its described (and is) an airport hotel,I was thinking its also a great place to base yourself if you have car ( and you need one in Langkawi) and want to get out of Kuah town or touristy Pantai Cenang.Can see cable car,beach, airport obviously parts of town from hotel, so I think it would be a great place to base yourself also if you are planning on exploring the island by car--- please do it, its the best part of langkawi for me(the driving),besides the cable car!Why base yourself here? Its basically a 5 star hotel charging at a 2/3 star rate and its smack bang in the middle of things..Langkawi is not a big island (if you have car) but its a real pain if you have to rely on cabs (no public buses) etc to get around....and NO, you cannot walk between town and cenang beach..!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Drive to cable car....awesome- Do it!

location good just 5 mins walk to airport and if u rent the car can easy to go anywhere and wouldnt lost way course just find the airport then u can find the hotel tower dirty and the hotel old if u check in at night kinda scare but in the morning will feel much better bath room mirrow get some lines there first time to see that will get scare really cheap price and good location if u reant car then can go anywhere easliy and big room can live really comfotable but not really clean bath others is ok to live ..in this kind of price can live this hotel I think already veryy very good

the reception at the hotel was soo friendly and helpful, hotel and room was really clean, presentation was great and romantic, great bathroom! not much variety for buffet breakfast, a bit far off from the jetty (kuah) but moderately placed from cenang beach, advised to rent a car to move around we had a really good time. I called in twice before reaching just to confirm our room, and the reception was really helpful and cheerful. The hotel itself was great, especially at night, the lobby is beautiful. Our room was clean and big! we booked for a king deluxe, no regrets!
bathroom was great too, one of the best we've had travelling around. Had a seperate shower, bathtub and wh. we had a great stay at Helang.

Very near walkable to airport.big large pool. And always helping staff. Quite away and lonely from city centre and happening area. Taxi cast u a lot to reach back to hotels at late night. Beware there are no buses here and taxis cost a lot. Instead can hire a can for city tour and sightseeing. Roooms are quite big , hotel is not well maintained , and quite far for the attraction places.its quite dark lonely and off as evening spells in.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip :
Take a "island hop tour"@ 45rm from desk. Its a great place to be donewith magik lake beach and wimming and eagle feeding activity. Cable car is ok genting is much more better than this one.

It's value for money..the room is big..and the bathroom is nice especially the bath tub Overall, i think this hotel is value for money.
I think the hotel room is more suited for bigger family as the room is very big and spacious. The bathroom is quite pretty and bath tub is impressive as well. However, i find this hotel is far from town, it's around 25 minutes drive from Kuah Town.

For cheap price can't moan. Right by the airport, clean rooms, helpful staff. Food's not great. Travel will cost a bit if you want to go around as it's in the middle of nowhere and there no public transport but taxis. If you're on a budget and need somewhere to stay then this place is great providing you hire a scooter for 25 a day.
The hotel must have been a four star at some point and didn’t get renovated so look at this hotel as a nice two to three star hotel.
From the outside it looks run down and needs a good paint ob, but the hotel lobby looks very nice.

Large spacious room with kingsized bed,a large bath in bathroom with separate shower,well maintained,dining area and seating area very open and friendly with staff who aim to please,proximity to airport,beach and food market.
the hotel needs a lot of exterior attention (lick of paint would'nt be amiss)15 kls from panti cenang,some people may find other things wrong with the hotelbut that was all that i noticed. When i first arrived the helang hotel looked as if no one had paid the exterior to the hotel for quite some while but once you enter you find very friendly and helpful staff,the interior is 1st class and you feel that you are in a nice big hotel,my room was spacious and very comfortable with a kingsize double bed,the bathroom had a large bath and separate shower and was also quite spacious.I never had breakfast or dinner in the hotelas i normally got in quite late and prefered to eat in panti cenang or straight across the from the hotel they have a hot food market between 5pm-730pm and you can a really good feed for approx. 10 ringets just over $3.the hotel has a large swimming pool situated in front of the dining area where a buffet is served,after that you can go to the lounge bar where they have karaoke,as i was leaving one night to go out i heard girls singing in french but never managed to go in myself.Your room is cleaned daily after you leave the room,the staff will also look after your luggage once you have checked out if you have a flight later in the day, The airport is a stones throw away from the hotel,walk out airport turn left 3-5 mins walk you are there,The only drawback is that the hotel is 15 kilometres from panti cenang,18ringets for a taxi,same back unless after midnight and then its double,i hired a car very cheaply and found it invalueable as it gave me independance to go all over the island at will and save money,petro 1.80 ringets,there is a bus that takes hotel patrons to the langasuka beach resort about 5mins from hotel and you are at a lovely beach(free of charge).I hope this proves helpful to some people and you enjoy your stay in the helang or langkawi in general,i did! ords
Shopping Tip : If you need to get something from shops,they are nearby but not visible,if you go by the airport to the roundaboutand turn left there is a small town with everything you may need,internet cafes as well.

Near to Airport, Convenient, Room has big bathtub. Hotel is old and need certain maintenance. The hotel is old but it makes you feel like a home! with the beautiful bathtub and pool, it makes you feel like swimming everywhere every moment!Also, the room has everything you need, free coffee and tea, the room is comfortable and enjoyable. Overall, i enjoyed my stay!
Restaurant Tip : You will need to go to the city to eat good food

just 5 min walk to the airport. efficient check in and out. staff were friendly. an evening market neaby. the room wasn't wholly carpeted. quite far away from everywhere (Khua town and the beaches). inconvient for those who dont have a car. The hotel is located right next to the airport so it was easy for us to find it. The check in process was very quick with no need to make a deposit. The room was spacious with a far beach view. There's an evening market from around 6 to 730. Visitors can try the local cheap food there. The swimming pool looked nice but didnt have the chance to try it as the beaches were excellent. The toilet was clean with a big bath tub and a seperate shower area, which i liked most.
But it is quite far away from everywhere in Langkawi and need a taxi to all the places unless you have a car.
Would like to stay there for the next visit as renting a car is never a problem there,.

Deluxe room has 2 big queen size beds, and small bed like near the window house keeping was not very good, hangers left on the bed, and there were left over soap and shampoo bottle covers in the toilet the hotel is located just beside the airport, very nice and big swimming pool, the breakfast had a wide variety of continental and local food.
very convenient to get to town and is about 15KM to beach. We stayed at another hotel and than moved to Helang the day before we returned. so convenient to carry all the shopping
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : the hotels sells entrance tickets to Cabel car , underwater world and also sightseing trips at a lower price as compared to purchasing at these attractions
